GO MECHA BALL - ARCADE UPDATE 🎰

It's been almost six months since we released Go Mecha Ball. We've been honoured by all the love and support from the community. And we're back with a new update, with a brand new mode that you can jump into right now!
ARCADE MODE NOW AVAILABLE 🎰

  • Unlock a new arcade mode challenge when you defeat a difficulty for the first time
  • Arcade mode is a score chasing mode where you can earn permanent upgrades for each character by earning bronze, silver and gold medals
  • Complete the highest difficulty to earn shiny new skins!

[h3]Bosses[/h3]
  • Bosses are more aggressive and attack more frequently
  • Less health replenished when defeating bosses
  • Glitched bosses gain more health, deal more damage and get new attacks with each difficulty level
  • Glitched bosses fire projectiles after certain attacks
  • Glitched bosses teleport around the stage

[h3]Combo System[/h3]
  • Less forgiving combo system to improve gold coin economy balance and combo-based upgrade synergies
  • Combo timer no longer freezes entirely while in the air or using mobility features like transport tubes
  • Combo timer slows down while in the air, in boost mode and while abilities are active
  • Dealing damage with abilities now resets the combo timer

[h3]Shop[/h3]
  • Shop always offers health packs
  • Shop contents are deterministic, so no more shop scumming

[h3]Performance[/h3]
  • Much improved CPU efficiency
  • Reduced physics time step to free up CPU and GPU resources
  • More than halved memory usage in common situations
  • Many times faster startup loading and level loading performance
  • Optimised for Steam Deck: 60FPS without VSync
  • VSync no longer enabled by default
  • UI drawn as overlay rather than using a separate camera
  • More reliable occlusion and frustum culling
  • Improved GPU batching for reduced draw calls
  • Improved shadow quality

[h3]Settings Menu[/h3]
  • Full input remapping for keyboard, mouse and controllers
  • Added headers to settings menu for greater readability
  • Added camera zoom options to set camera range
  • Toggle dynamic or static camera to help some players who experienced motion sickness from subtle camera movements

We’ve been watching you all play, stream, post clips and screenshots and leaving nearly a hundred reviews that are 96% positive (!!!) aaaaaand we genuinely could not be happier! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, generosity and overall high degree of ballerness!
Of course, we have also noticed that there have been a couple of hitches here and there, and we have spent the last few days since launch fixing up the following bugs and issues!
[h2]CHANGELOG[/h2]
  • The true ending should now play properly after you defeat the final boss on the final difficulty
  • Enemies resurrected by glitched enemies with the resurrect ability should no longer float around after you defeat them
  • The final boss should no longer end up in a weird funny stretchy pose and soft lock the game if you’re unlucky after defeating it
  • Added tonemapping post-process to ensure that colors look correct on all HDR displays
  • Fixed an issue where gacha balls would stick around after being unlocked if you pressed the gacha machine button again after opening the ball but before the unlock screen appeared
  • Fixed minor issues in audio material system that could cause sounds to loop after they should have stopped
  • Removed reference to non-existent Swedish localization
