The 1.17.0 demo update is now live with additional content and improvements. Check out the latest new features!

[h2]Vehicles and car wash[/h2]
Improvements have been made to vehicle physics, audio, and NPC traffic. There has also been another vehicle added to the used car dealership.

Vehicles now accumulate dirt while they are driven off-road, so of course a car wash had to be added!



[h2]Smartphone apps[/h2]
New apps have been added to the smartphone:

• Assets app: This app allows you to sell and rent out your owned properties. You can also view a list of your owned vehicles. More to come with this app in a future build.

• Utilities app: The Utilities app tracks the daily electric and water bills for your properties. The amounts for these bills are withdrawn from your account at the end of each day.

• Maps app: A map has been added to the phone for easier navigation around the city.

Also, the original three property apps have been condensed into one.



[h2]Residence customization[/h2]
When purchasing paint for your home, you now have the option to customize the color as well as select the type of finish you want.

New furniture and electronics have been added. Play custom videos on the TV, or try playing your own music with the music player. Make sure to check out the new customizable light fixtures!



[h2]New house[/h2]
Another house has been added to the market. This residence includes a garage for vehicle storage!



[h2]Visuals[/h2]
Environment art has received an overhaul that focuses on foliage and lighting improvements.

Settle into a house, make more pizzas, and explore a little more in the 0.15.0 demo update!

[h2]House[/h2]
A house is now available for purchase! Once you've moved in, you can customize it to your liking with flooring, wall paint, and furniture.



[h2]Pizza[/h2]
All levels for the pizza job have been unlocked, with pay raises and new pizzas for each level passed.



[h2]Environment[/h2]
Some of the dirt backroads have been opened up. The area of the demo environment is now approximately 5% of the full game environment that will be available in Early Access.



[h2]Pawn shop[/h2]
An option to sell items to the pawn shop has been added. There have also been some changes made to the stock available for purchase.

More content and revisions are included in the new 0.14.0 demo update as we move closer to the Early Access release of Denizen!

[h2]Missions[/h2]
The quest/mission framework has been overhauled to allow for NPC storylines that include multiple missions. There has been a new mission added to the demo that you can access by visiting the new NPC's safehouse in town.



[h2]Forklift[/h2]
As part of the new mission, you can try out the new forklift vehicle. In the Early Access release of Denizen, you can work as a forklift operator in a larger warehouse.



[h2]Body shop[/h2]
You can now take your car to the local body shop for repair, paint, and window tint. Paint your car in any color you like with a solid, metallic, or matte finish.



[h2]Used car dealership[/h2]
The used car dealership is in business! Stop by and pick from a selection of used automobiles. In the Early Access release of Denizen, there will be several additional dealerships to visit in the city.



[h2]Hacking and lockpicking[/h2]
Hacking and lockpicking minigames have been added. These minigames are used in some missions and other parts of the game.



[h2]Break-ins and looting[/h2]
Some buildings in the demo environment can now be broken into and looted using lockpicks acquired from the pawn shop.



[h2]Radio stations[/h2]
Radio stations have been added to vehicles. These will be built upon in future updates to add commercials, hosted intermissions, and more music.



[h2]Interaction states[/h2]
The state of light switches, doors, and some other entities in residences now persists through saving and loading.



[h2]Other content[/h2]

Another demo update! This update adds new features and fixes to the demo while development of the Early Access version of Denizen continues.

[h2]Traffic and pedestrians[/h2]
Road traffic has been added! There have also been major revisions to the pedestrian AI logic and physics.



[h2]Cinematics[/h2]
You now get to see more of your character with the new interaction cinematics for events such as using the washroom and drinking at the sink, water fountain, and bar.

Many other fixes and tweaks have been made, including:

• Revised input and interaction logic
• Various other bug fixes and improvements
