Stormgate on NextFest is here!

We're livestreaming some recent gameplay in anticipation of Next Fest from Feb 5-12.

This Steam Next Fest open beta playtest features two main game modes:
- 3P Co-op vs. AI mode featuring two playable Heroes (Blockade and Maloc)
- Competitive 1v1 (no Heroes)

Custom lobbies are also available for trying different maps.

Stormgate puts you in command of mighty armies fighting for survival in a new science fantasy universe. This playtest build includes two factions with a third faction coming to a future playtest in the months ahead, before the game's scheduled mid-year Early Access launch.

Ex Blizzard devs' huge new RTS game gets first open beta

Combining the best of the entire RTS game genre, including Command and Conquer, StarCraft 2, Warcraft 3, and more, Stormgate, the debut work from Frost Giant Studios, finally has its first open beta on the way. Founded by former Blizzard developers, who also worked in conjunction with Chris Metzen before his return to World of Warcraft, Frost Giant successfully funded Stormgate after a hugely popular Kickstarter campaign. Now, the classic-style strategy game will be playable for the first time during Steam Next Fest.

Stormgate Makes Its Public Debut at Steam Next Fest

We have super exciting news to share as we gear up for a major moment in the Stormgate journey. Stormgate will be part of Steam Next Fest!

Steam Next Fest takes place February 5–12, during which we will be opening up access to our closed beta, including full access to our ranked 1v1 and 3P co-op vs. AI modes. This marks the first time we have opened the gates to the public, offering everyone an opportunity to get their hands on the RTS we’re building with the support of our incredible community.

Early Access for Kickstarter Backers

To our incredible Kickstarter Founders, as thanks for your support, those of you who pledged to receive a Deluxe Founder’s Pack and above will get in ahead of the pack with a few days of early access to the Steam Next Fest closed beta. This is your chance to jumpstart your experience in Stormgate before the public gets in. You will also continue to have access after Steam Next Fest for the duration of the closed February beta, and during all future testing phases, including the first opportunity to playtest our third faction (later this year).

StarCraft successor Stormgate teams up with top Blizzard veteran

I'm already very excited about Stormgate. It comes from the minds at Frost Giant Studios, including former Blizzard veterans who helped create the likes of StarCraft 2 and Warcraft 3 before branching out to pursue their love of RTS games while the company moved its focus to Overwatch and Diablo 4. Inspired by those classics and others like Command and Conquer, Stormgate is already shaping up to be something special, and now the team unveils three more big names involved with the project, including another notable Blizzard veteran.

Ex-Blizzard devs' RTS Stormgate enters early access Summer 2024

Move over, Henry Cavill. Your time as PC gaming's celebrity uber nerd is under threat. There's a new faction leader in town and he's coming to take your RTS lunch money when Stormgate - the very Starcraft 2-looking strategy game that's being made by ex-Starcraft 2 devs - launches into Steam Early Access in summer 2024. Yep, it's Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu, who took to the stage at tonight's Game Awards to announce he's not only a dab hand at Starcraft (handy), but that he's also the voice of its demonic Infernal Host chief, Warz. Yes, they actually named him Warz. Never changes, does it?
