We have received some reviews from players who disliked the need for an Epic Account to play The Riflemen. The game indeed uses Epic Online Services to handle multiplayer features. Here is some clarification on why we decided to go with this solution.

No Extra Costs for You or Us
As a small indie game studio, we can't afford big server bills. This is the only free solution that there is. This, in turn, enables us to offer The Riflemen as a freemium game, as opposed to a free-to-play model that relies on monthly battle passes and in-game purchases to cover server expenses. Server costs are reason why indie-multiplayer games often dies.

Keep Playing, No Matter What
Even if we don't make much money from game sales, multiplayer won't disappear. We can maintain the game's multiplayer without relying on sales alone. (No server costs)

Connect Your Progress
With an Epic Account, your game progress carries across different platforms. That’s your Costumes, Skins, Dogtags, etc.

To Play Together on Different Platforms
We use Epic Online Services to make sure you can play The Riflemen with your friends no matter on what platform you are. On Steam, Epic, Playstation, and Xbox.

-Option to toggle volumetric fog on/off (off by default, high gpu usage)
-Vsync toggle bug fix (forced on during launch & didn't update always)
-Fixed bug where options wouldn't set up correctly until the options were opened
