Live from London Steam Sale

If you saw last week’s blog post about our upcoming European tradeshow tour, then you know that we’re in England for EGX London today! As a part of the show happenings, we’re also taking part in Steam’s special Live from London sale that also kicks off today. This means that friends (that’s you) will be able to get discounts on our games whether they’re at the show or not!

From October 17th (today) through October 20th, all Behemoth games on Steam will be on sale during the entirety of Valve’s Live from London Steam Sale! This one is quick and will only last through the weekend, so you’re going to want to act fast if you want to take advantage of all the sweet deals.

It’s a great time to get Castle Crashers or BattleBlock Theater (or both of them) for yourself or a friend, because the two games will be on sale for a whopping 80% off! That’s no small savings on hours of fun. Beyond the classics you know and love, Pit People will also be available for 40% off! If you haven’t played our newest game, you’ll want to pick up the turn-based adventure.

It’s the perfect time to round out your Behemoth games collection, on Steam… just make sure you do so before the sale ends on October 20th.

The Behemoth’s 2019 Halloween Contest!

There’s a chill in the air, and things are starting to feel just a little bit spooky. That could only mean one of two things: either someone left the door open, or it’s almost Halloween!

We just checked and the door is definitely shut, so we’re going with Halloween… which means it’s time for our very own Halloween contest! This year we’re looking for Behemoth-inspired Halloween decorations to fill us with fright and delight.

To enter, just post a photo of your Behemoth Halloween decor to Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook using the hashtag #BehemothHalloween before November 3rd, 2019 at 11:59 PM PT. We will review the entries and select three winners during the first week of November, with one winner for each category: (1) Best in Show, (2) Most Creative, and (3) Spooky Scariest. As the category names suggest, we will be judging based on creativity, originality, and the ability to make us feel things, scary or otherwise. The winner of each category will receive TWO Pit People figurines!

Check out all the official rules and deets here:

  • No purchase necessary.
  • Must be 18 or older to enter (if in the US), or have parental consent.
  • Group entries are allowed! (Only one prize pack per winning individual or group).
  • Your entry must be your own creation (or your group’s, parent’s, family’s).
  • Only new decoration entries will be accepted (entries that were submitted in previous years will not be eligible).
  • Decorations can include pumpkin carvings, special treats, or other decorations in or outside of your home… but they don’t have to! Mix it up, and be creative!
  • You may enter more than one unique entry.
  • International participants are welcome!

macOS 10.15 Catalina and 32-bit Steam applications

Later this month when macOS Catalina 10.15 releases, Apple will be ending support for 32-bit Mac applications. This means that if you update to the new macOS you will no longer be able to use any 32-bit Mac applications that you have, which may include Castle Crashers. However, these games will not be removed from your library and will continue working on earlier versions of the macOS as well as Windows.

We are currently working on a 64-bit version of Castle Crashers that will be free to update to, and will allow all users to play the game on Catalina 10.15. Although it is nearing completion, we do not have an estimated release date for the update at this time.

If you want to keep our (and others') 32-bit games playable on your Mac, you have several options. Workarounds include not upgrading your macOS or using the application Boot Camp to run Windows on your Mac computer. To learn more about your other options and how all of the coming changes will effect Mac users, please see Steam’s FAQ here.

Jam Out with us and Celebrate Castle Crashers! 🎶

Tomorrow marks the 11th anniversary of Castle Crashers, which is no small day. We’ll be celebrating 11 years of Castle Crashers and the upcoming launch to Nintendo Switch and PS4 with the game’s music, and you’re invited to party with us!

Every week starting tomorrow, August 27, 2019 and running all the way through October 8, 2019, a musician will be covering one or more of the songs off the Castle Crashers soundtrack. You'll be able to catch these covers on YouTube, or watch them streamed live on Twitch.

We’ll be updating this blog with the new dates and times each week, so be sure to check back. For now, we’ll kick off the celebrations with the schedule for the first two musicians:

August 27th, 2019 at 1:30 PM PST - The8BitDrummer LIVE on Twitch

The8BitDrummer is a drummer (big surprise there) who streams live covers to an exuberant audience on Twitch! We might be biased, but we're particularly impressed with his cover of BattleBlock Theater's Secret Stage music because he somehow managed to sing the entire thing.

He'll be starting off the celebration strong and playing through the ENTIRE Castle Crashers soundtrack, so you won't want to miss out on this madman's performance!

September 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 PM PST - FamilyJules Cover Premiere on YouTube

FamilyJules is a rad guitarist that is best known for his video game music covers — in fact, he's done well over 100! Of course, a part of that number is made up by Castle Crashers covers. If you're feeling a craving for rock and bones, we recommend checking out his original Necromancer Theme cover.

He'll be premiering an all-new Castle Crashers cover that will have you smashing that replay button!

We have even more artists on the way to delight your eardrums and tug on your heartstrings by tugging on their instrument strings. Stay tuned (get it, tuned?) and check back here each week to see when the next show is!
