Update "Tigers of Burma"

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The "Tigers of Burma" show their claws, challenging the bravest of hunters! Charge into battle for a tropical coastal city in the Burma campaign, master new unlockable top-tier vehicles, and tame the improved motorcycles!

The new "Burma heartlands" location was created with great attention to detail and love for Burma's cultural and historical heritage. Explore ancient temple complexes and the streets of a suddenly deserted town shoulder to shoulder with your teammates!

Update highlights - new late game unlocks for all armies! The T26E1-1 "Super Pershing" tank, the Hyde M1944 assault rifle and the captured "Ofenrohr" anti-tank rocket launcher are now available for the USA. Germany received the MG 42 with a 100-round belt, while the USSR got the new Tu-2S bomber and Japan the Te-4 MG and the Chi-Ri II tank.

Multiple premium squads join the USA, Chinese soldiers armed with their own variant of the Thompson submachine gun, tankers with the "Pershing" tank with T99 rocket launchers on its turret and machine gunners with the experimental T24 - a reverse engineered copy of the MG 42. Meanwhile, Japan’s range of premium vehicles is expanding with the early prototype of the Ho-Ri, which is just as lethal as the later model.

The Rider class also received improvements - all armies can access them through Research and their squad size increased to 3 soldiers. In addition, motorcycles are now not just a means of transportation, but also portable ammo boxes!

After the update’s release, the "Silver Chest" filled with content from past events will temporarily return to the store! It will be available for purchase from December 18th, 2024 to January 8th, 2025.

Check out the full list of improvements and changes below!

Weapons and soldiers

  • Fixed a bug related to equipment presets: It now prioritizes the most upgraded weapon.
  • Adjusted the magnification of the ZF-4 scope. On the Sniper Gewehr 43, Sniper FG 42 II and Sniper StG 44, the magnification of this scope is now x4.

  • Adjusted the drum capacity of the PPD 34/38 to the historically accurate 73 rounds.

  • Temporarily added a new buildable structure for Engineers: Christmas Tree.

  • Improved the handling and physics of motorcycles on various surfaces.
  • Fixed a bug where under certain conditions shells could ignore the armor of open-top tanks and detonate on the crew.
  • Corrected shell trajectory after ricochet: due to a bug, it could hit the crew and the infantry behind the tank.
  • Reworked the armor-piercing rounds in the ammunition belts of multiple aircraft.

New blood effects

You can’t recreate the atmosphere of a spectacular battle without believable wounds on soldiers and blood on the ground, walls, sandbags ... everywhere! In the "Tigers of Burma" update, we will pay more attention to such effects.

The particle effects when hitting a soldier will become more noticeable and natural. Overall, all blood marks will improve: droplets, splatter, and footprints will look more realistic and will be more accurately projected onto surfaces.

Hit marks on soldiers' bodies will become more diverse and detailed. It will not only matter where the soldier was hit, but also whether the wound is covered with clothing. The fabric will absorb the blood immediately, while on uncovered parts of the body, there will be clearly visible bullet entry holes with bruises.

The blood puddles formed under the bodies of fallen soldiers will also change noticeably. They will not only have improved shading with realistic reflections, but will also have improved spreading and merging mechanics.

This means that in areas where whole squads died, the puddles will merge into one. Their appearance will also depend on the surface on which they formed - whether on the ground or indoors.

Improving suspended armament!

Previously, you were only able to launch rockets and drop bombs in pairs, but in the upcoming “Tigers of Burma” update, you’ll be able to launch and drop them separately! This change to suspended armament will allow you to use your payload more effectively. Get your aircraft ready!

New battlefield - Burma

With the "Tigers of Burma" update, you're heading to the tropics, commanders! What better time than winter to swap the snowy forests of the Ardennes and the cold Norman autumn for the hot and exotic landscapes of the Burma Campaign?

Burma

By May 1942, almost the entire territory of Burma, which was part of the British Empire at the start of World War II, was occupied by Japan. Allied counterattack attempts up until 1944 were unsuccessful - only in February 1945 did the decisive victorious offensive begin.

With great care and passion, we immersed ourselves in the cultural and historical heritage of Myanmar to create an interesting general image of Burma at that time - an exotic and unique country.

We were inspired by the gorgeous Burmese landscape and architecture, including vistas of Mandalay, the last royal capital of the Burmese kingdom, as well as the ancient capital city of Bagan.

The new map stretches from a poor rural area with flooded fields to a colonial-influenced modern quarter, where every house is adorned with a gilded spire.

The streets of the small riverside town emptied instantly when the war came to these lands. Therefore, you won't find a guide here - you will have to explore the beauties of the area shoulder to shoulder with your allies.

Your sightseeing tour should definitely include a visit to the ancient stone temple hiding in the woods on the outskirts of the city - the battles that took place nearby did not ruin the magnificence of this sacred place.

Not far from it is a more modern temple complex, influenced by the Buddhist Pyatthat architectural style, with multistaged red roofs on the outside and plenty of carved wooden decorations inside. Make sure to visit it!

The town is surrounded by the provincial buildings of local farmers and fishermen. Although the walls of these houses are riddled with holes, here you can easily find positions where you can enjoy the scenery through a sniper scope, while the enemy will never find you.

The Burma Campaign missions will bring great variety to the confrontation between the Allied and Japanese forces - after all, most of the battles will take place in the city at short ranges with occasional assaults on more open positions along the river.

Some time after the update's release, the chance of getting a mission on the new battlefield will be increased.

Rider class improvements

In the "Tigers of Burma" update, along with the new motorcycles in the Soviet and Japanese tech trees, you'll also find a number of changes that will make both old and new Rider squads a useful and important part of the battles!

Squad Expansion and easier leveling

Currently, the unlockable Rider squads of the USA and Germany consist of only 2 soldiers. Moreover, you have to earn a considerable amount of squad experience with them to progress through their upgrade branches.

With the update, motorcycles of all nations will be able to carry up to 3 soldiers and the new squads will require much less experience to level up! The amount of experience required to upgrade the old squads of the USA and Germany will be adjusted after the update’s release.

Portable ammo box

Your "steel horse" will not only be a fast and convenient means of transportation, but also an ammo box!

You will receive additional battle score when your allies replenish their ammunition from it, just like from a built ammo box. Of course, this is only possible until the motorcycle is destroyed or runs out of ammunition - regardless of how many ammo boxes are on the motorcycle, you can resupply only 10 times.

Improved physics

Motorcycles have always been better suited for smooth roads, but we understand that on the battlefield you often have to choose the rough terrain.

With the update, we will slightly adjust the physics of the motorcycles to make them more pleasant to drive: they will become slightly more stable and will have better grip on the road, allowing you to more easily break through the enemy lines at high speed! However, don't forget that, just like in real life, turning towards the sidecar will result in a larger turning radius.

You'll be able to try out the updated motorcycle squads in action very soon – stay tuned for more news!
