June 6, 1944: D-Day - the codename for Operation Neptune, the largest seaborne invasion in history. On this day, Allied forces landed at five sectors of the Normandy coast: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword.

The operation involved more than 156,000 American, British and Canadian soldiers, supported by nearly 7,000 ships and 11,000 aircraft. Despite the fierce resistance from German forces, especially at Omaha Beach, the Allies managed to establish beachheads at all five landing sites.

D-Day was one of the key moments of the war, which opened the Western Front in Europe and marked the beginning of Western Europe’s liberation. This operation significantly sped up Germany's defeat, as it was now forced to fight the war on two fronts.

From June 5th (13:00 UTC) to June 29th (13:00 UTC), get battle score in battles and move up the rewards ladder! You have two days to complete each task!
Alecto I (USA, BR II)
The Alecto Mk.I was a British experimental light self-propelled gun, built on the basis of the Light Tank Mk.VIII "Harry Hopkins". Delays in the development and testing of the Mk. VIII led to the first chassis for conversion only becoming available in August 1943.

The development of the self-propelled gun proved to be equally problematic. Trials did not start until 1944 and were significantly delayed due to numerous technical difficulties. The final design, ready for mass production, was only completed by June 1945 - by which time there was no longer a military need for such a vehicle.

However, in the game it will have the opportunity to prove itself.

The tank comes without a squad and is available for the 48th Royal Tank Regiment (Tanker II).
15 cm sIG 33 B Sfl (Germany, BR II)
The 15 cm sIG 33 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II (Selbstfahrlafette) was another attempt by German designers to mount the 15 cm sIG 33 heavy infantry gun on a tank. The chassis of the Pz.II light tank was chosen, as it was considered obsolete by 1941 and thus there was a surplus, on which a superstructure with a gun shield was mounted instead of the standard turret to accommodate the gun and protect the crew.

Initial trials revealed serious problems: the original chassis design could not effectively handle the powerful recoil of the 15 cm gun and the crew was cramped. It required significant structural modifications that resulted in the lengthening and widening of the hull. The new version with the 6 road wheels was designated B and 12 of these were built by January 1942.

You can test the power of this self-propelled gun in the game!

The tank comes without a squad and is available for the 5th Tank Division (Tanker I).

Battle of Midway

The decisive naval battle of World War II near Midway Atoll, which took place between June 4 and 7 in 1942, ended in a crushing defeat for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Thanks to the successful deciphering of Japanese codes, Admiral Nimitz organized a strategic ambush using the Enterprise, Hornet, and Yorktown aircraft carriers to surprise the Japanese fleet.

Over the course of the battle, American aircraft sank four key Japanese aircraft carriers (Akagi, Kaga, Sōryū, Hiryū) and a heavy cruiser (Mikuma), while losing only the Yorktown and the destroyer Hammann.

This battle dramatically changed the balance of power in the Pacific theater, halting Japanese expansion and giving the strategic advantage to the United States.
