The genius of The Walking Dead's Lee Everett

It's been eight years since we first met Lee Everett. The Georgia man was on a one-way trip to prison after being found guilty of murder, his life spiralling into chaos and ruin. The writers of The Walking Dead cleverly, intertwined Lee's backstory with one very big mystery: did he murder his wife's lover?

As is so often the case, the reality of the situation was far more complicated than it first seemed. I began my journey desperate to uncover the truth about Lee's past, but I stuck around because of his warmth, selflessness, and courage.

When the zombie apocalypse struck, the world changed forever. The rules that governed civilised society went out the window as panicked survivors adopted an 'everyone for themselves' mentality. Lee was different. He defied our prejudiced expectations, which were based upon what the audience thought it knew of his past, and showed us the importance of compassion and cooperation. He also taught Clementine - a helpless young girl marooned in her own treehouse - how to survive against almost impossible odds. This relationship would form the bedrock of season one, touching the hearts of players around the world and changing the way we think about zombie games forever.

It’s been over 2 years since the #StillNotBitten team and Skybound Games closed the final chapter of Telltale’s The Walking Dead with the release of The Final Season – “Take Us Back.” Since then, we know our incredible community of fans have clamored for a continuation of Clementine’s story and the remarkable world she inhabited. So we are ecstatic to report that Clementine will make her first appearance ever in a comic book in the recently announced SKYBOUND X!
With Robert Kirkman’s (creator of The Walking Dead) blessing and in partnership with acclaimed author Tillie Walden, SKYBOUND X will celebrate Skybound’s tenth anniversary and include all-new stories from The Walking Dead universe (including an alt-universe Rick Grimes 2000!) that no fan should miss. The event series will include five weekly issues of the comic book and it kicks off Wednesday, July 7! You can find more info here.

While we have no info to share for new Clementine related interactive experiences at this time, we're excited for her story to continue from two of the most acclaimed voices in comics, Robert Kirkman and Tillie Walden. Robert and Tillie know the care and attention fans expect for Clementine and are dedicated to delivering an amazing, authentic, new story for her biggest fans.

Want a The Last of Us PC game? Try these

The Last of Us Part II is on its way to PlayStation 4 imminently, much to the excitement of fans. PC players, however, never got to experience the melancholy world it takes place in. Sadly, we can't convince Naughty Dog to put the original on PC, and the devs have stopped replying to our emails petitioning them to do so. Which is rude. But what we can do is give you a list of PC games that are akin to the classic zombie game for your survival pleasure.

Now, we can't promise you that any one of these games will be able to recreate The Last of Us perfectly, it would be foolish for any dev to attempt that. But each one of these games masters an aspect of The Last of Us's gameplay, narrative, or something other aspect that makes it so special.

Of course if you really want to play The Last of Us, you can just do that, but these titles have specific things about them that might appeal to you for individual reasons.

The best adventure games on PC

What are the best adventure games? From 1976's text-based Adventure - that gave the genre its name - through the point-and-click golden age of the '90s and up to more modern fare, few genres have endured quite so well as the adventure game. That multi-decade lifespan has produced some of the most astounding titles, so it is certainly a struggle to narrow down a list of the best adventure games.

Adventure games have prospered thanks to a focus on story and character. That, and a few tricky brain teasers, as opposed to violence set the genre apart. Characters usually get by through talking or thinking instead of resorting to fighting - though, Full Throttle protagonist Ben might have a few things to say about that.

We frequently return to our lists to make sure they are as up-to-date as possible and represent the very best the genre has to offer, so you can be confident that what we list below are nothing less than classics.
