Performance Optimization

Hey Everyone,

I worked hard on optimizing AI and simulated FX during the last few weeks and managed to greatly improve performance.

In the following video, the game runs at 60 FPS with only a few exceptions. The resolution is at 4K with DLSS set to performance. Lumen is set to High, Post processing is set to Very High. All other settings are maxed out.

It has extremely far view distances that we've never seen in any game ever. Every single light is dynamic and casts shadows and no baked lighting is used. All static and dynamic meshes and skeletal meshes cast shadows as well.

I will continuously work on performance and gameplay improvements in the future.

Performance Improvement

This patch reduces the frame drop happening when shooting zombie hordes. Also, improved performance melee combat.

New Update Details

- Fixed Mission 4 excessive CPU usage issue occurred after one of the previous updates.
- Zombie performance improvements.
- Humans turn into zombies when they get bitten.

Update Details

- Based on a player's feedback, made some tweaks to lighting settings in Mission 3 as the previous settings had much more blurred shadows, which gave impression that shadows aren't casted at all. Now it still has overcast lighting condition but with sharper shadows.
