Gods Of Defense News

v1.0.4

  • Fixes the Fortune God power glitch that was leading to infinite gold generation by spamming the god power button

v1.0.3

  • To address the frustration due to grinding, a subtle mechanic is introduced. Early in the game the attributes at the bottom of the upgrade screen are locked, so that the faith and hope are used for tower unlocks. This should prove more effective in making fast progress. Once 4 towers are unlocked, the attributes are presented.
  • Audio minimum value now completely mutes the sound
  • Fortune God power now has a cap of 25k gold. Without it, the fortune power was game breakingly OP (thanks to @Voyle and @Lord Failure for pointing this out in Discussions)
  • Minor changes and typo fixes to tooltips

v1.0.2

  • "Lose all faith" curse is not presented as Certain curse (i.e. a forced curse that has no choice) any more. From players' experience it seemed like an unfair punishment, especially in the early game. Loosing meta progression like this also increased grind. This fix should reduce that frustration.
  • Added curse labels and explanatory corruption values that get relieved after curse is applied
  • Made the version label at bottom right corner more visible

v1.0.1

  • Added introduction tutorial for Corruption. It shows when first time a tower incurs corruption. It also gives tips on how to avoid corruption
  • Even though it's possible to convert 40 faith to 1 Hope, it's not recommended. Entire game can be played without ever using it. It's there for mid-game frustration. It's definitely not recommended in early game. A warning is added accordingly.
  • Fixed the integer overflow bug that was causing gold to reset after it had reached past 2 trillion. (extreme scenario)
  • Added "Mana" in Fount details panel, to clarify its function

Gods of Defense is released!

Hello everyone,

I'm very happy to finally press the Release button for Gods of Defense this morning.

The nine month journey of the development has been full of ups and downs. I hope you like the result.

Tons of thanks to the hundreds of players of NewGrounds, ArmorGames and CrazyGames that played the early prototype and provided their valuable feedback. Also my deep gratitude to the members of BlueMath Discord server who tested the game with lot of care and kept me company through what is otherwise a lonely work of solo game dev. Same goes to everyone who participated in Steam playtesting.

Hope you will like the game.
Enjoy!
