KitHack Patch #1.4.0

Greetings, KitHackers!

We're excited to bring you the latest patch notes, packed with several quality of life upgrades and new parts to enhance your building and gameplay experience.

We’ve added some exciting new parts and made gameplay smoother than ever. The TL-81 Eos Jet Engine will take your builds to new heights...

While the Tiny Helm and Vintage Steering Wheel add a touch of flair!

We’ve also improved the Confetti Cannon for more explosive celebrations, along with making cockpit parts scalable to fit whatever your design needs may be!

Finally, we've streamlined a few features for a cleaner, more fun experience - Plus a whole lot more! Please see below for the full list of changes:
UI Quality of Life Features:
• Editor Parts List Fix: We’ve resolved an issue where parts list separators weren’t visible until activated twice. Now, they'll display correctly on the first go.
 • Rocket Replacement Notification: You'll now see an on-screen notification when spent Rockets are automatically replaced on your vehicle.
 • Graphical Artifact Fixed: Fixed an unscaled element that caused a visual artifact in FPV mode. The view should now be smoother than ever!
 • Craft File Warning: Added a handy warning message when attempting to overwrite an existing craft file, helping prevent accidental saves.
Gameplay Quality of Life Features:
• Go-To Vehicle Action: You can now use the Go-To Vehicle action even when the vehicle is still in motion, as long as it’s not moving too fast for you to catch up!
 • Improved Vehicle Recovery: The vehicle recovery system has been enhanced to allow Go-To actions in scenarios where Retrieve/Repair isn't permitted.
 • Automatic Refuel/Reload: Recovering or repairing your vehicle now automatically refuels or reams it, as long as the scenario allows. If you're not in a mission, it’s always allowed.
 • FPV Camera Adjustment: We’ve slightly moved up the FPV camera for a better view.
 • Craft Building Change: The "Go" button no longer saves the craft, giving you more control over when you save your creations.
 • Stock Craft Update: Most stock craft have been updated to include an FPV steering part for better control.
New Parts:
• TL-81 Eos Jet Engine: A brand-new jet engine part for you to experiment with and add to your builds.
 • Tiny Helm & Vintage Style Steering Wheel: For that extra flair, we’ve introduced new helm and steering wheel parts.
 • TurboPilot Flight Yoke: Take your flight builds to the next level with this new flight control part.
 • Cockpit Scaling: Cockpit parts can now be scaled to fit your design needs.
 • Improved Confetti Cannon: Now even better for all your celebratory needs!
 • Solid Rocket Sync in Multiplayer: Solid Rockets will now sync correctly for remote vehicles in multiplayer, improving gameplay for everyone.
 • Gun Sight Fix: Gun sights no longer show visually through glass, keeping your view clear.
 • Decoupler Logic Optimization: Decoupler logic will no longer run unnecessarily for remote vehicles, streamlining gameplay.
Fixes:
• TrackIR Error Logs: Fixed an issue where errors were being logged for TrackIR even when the client wasn’t installed or running. This should reduce unnecessary log clutter.
 • Refueling/Recharging Fix: We addressed a bug where vehicle resources weren’t fully refueled or recharged during operations, and resupply actions would sometimes fail to complete. This process should now work as intended.
 • Time-to-Full Estimate Correction: Fixed incorrect estimates for the time it would take to fully resupply a vehicle during operations. Now, the time display is accurate.
 • Audio Settings & SFX Update: Normalized values in the audio settings panel and remixed some sound effects for better consistency and a more polished audio experience.
 • NPC Splashing Effect: Resolved an odd issue where NPCs would cause a splashing effect when you switched focus or approached them for the first time.
 • Raiders Ridge Mission Fix: The Raiders Ridge mission no longer erroneously announces changes in drive power, making the mission less confusing.
 • Resource Network Reset Notification: The resource network reset notice is now only shown to the appropriate players, preventing it from being displayed to all players in a lobby.

We hope you enjoy these updates and new features! Thank you for your continued feedback and support. Dive in, test out the new parts, and let us know what you think!

Patch #1.3.2

Hello, KitHackers!

We're back with another Patch mainly focused on game optimization and bug fixing. Check out the range of adjustments made below!
PHYSICS
• Part breakage is now handled by FlexPhysics, instead of the old Internal Physics.
 • Fixed the logic for detecting when struts are bracing a given part.
OPTIMIZATIONS
• Part motion now happens separately from colliders, to avoid the (significant) cost of PhysX collider synchronization.
 • Player RB interpolation is now kept off while the player isn't moving.
 • Vehicle RB interpolation is now always disabled, for maximum physics performance.
 • TX screen gauges no longer update if the view mode isn't on the player.
 • Reduced Tape Gauge (alimeter) update rate to not happen every frame.
 • Removed Internal Physics components from vehicles, now that Flex Physics is responsible for part breakage.
 • VehicleFlex FX no longer use PlayableDirectors, and update the animations directly. This drops 90% of the FX update time (from 1.2ms down to 0.1)
 • Resource Containers (fuel tanks) no longer drain while in the Vehicle Editor. This prevents an enormous lag spike from the fuel drain indirectly leading to a full vehicle analysis recalculation every frame.
 • Hydrodynamic forces are now coupled to Flex Physics.
 • Physics stress blobs are now a bit smaller at max intensity.
FIXES
• Procgen fuselages should now handle missing stack profiles on other part nodes more gracefully.
 • Fixed odd 'skipping' motion when moving the view to the right on external chase camera mode.
 • Fixed errors from PartPhysics initialization that caused symmetry and other editor things to fail.
 • Fixed interior parts not being clickable in Inspect Vehicle mode even when internal view is active.
 • Vehicle Resource Networks now revert back to full automatic if any networks have issues during loading/init. (eg ports/linesnot found, bad indices, etc)
VEHICLE EDITOR
• Removed compressed air and exhaust gas resources from parts list filters
 • The small balsawood beam/nose/tail/dowel parts are now visible from interior view.
 • The part directly under the cursor now has an additional 'drop-shadow' outline to stand out from its child parts
UI
• The chat log now cycles through the entire message history with the up and down arrow keys.
 • Removed non-functional finger print "find me" button in players list.
 • Disabled drawing of inertia tensors in the FlexPhysics overlay (too cluttered)
MODDING
• PartModules and PartComponents now have virtual methods for when the vehicle init is complete.
PARTS
• Single-cell Battery now has stack nodes on both sides, R00 profile
 • Backwash motor now has R0 profiles on both stack nodes (so adapters now adapt to it)
 • Hummingbird motor now has R00 profiles on both stack nodes.
 • Magnetar motor now has R00 profiles on its stack nodes.
 • Wirraby motor now has a T profile on its stack node.
 • Corrected orientation of stack nodes on 6 and 12 blade EDFs (and added a new node on both)
 • Removed overly large workshop collider from End Cap
 • Added a backfacing stack node to Rim Cap part.
 • Removed unused electric port on passive Hinge
 • Piston travel speed is now adjustable
STOCK VEHICLES
• Replaced Seafury MkI by new MkII design.
 • Updated the Aeromite 100 to use the newer parts, and gave it an intrepid pilot.
CONTROLS
• In all input presets, Shift+Return now opens Team Chat, and Return opens All Chat (defaults swapped around).
AUDIO
• Default sound level for Vehicle sounds reduced.
MODS
• PolygonApocalypse map mod signed as MP-Safe.
