Max Verstappen's Celebration - Pro Challenges

To commemorate a historic third Drivers’ Championship title, Max Verstappen ran a special navy and gold design towards the end of the season. Want to unlock this in-game? Put your skills to the test and beat Max’s time of 1:22.652 at the Lusail International Circuit in an all-new F1® Pro Challenge.

Next-up, to celebrate his home race, Max ran a special Dutch-themed design as the local crowd cheered him on to victory in one of the most entertaining races of the year. The target time here is 1:10.621, and you can watch Max’s F1® 23 lap on YouTube to get some tips on how to master the tricky Circuit Zandvoort.

Finally, on the Pro Challenge front, we head to the fast and flowing Suzuka Circuit which is perfectly suited to the high-grip Red Bull Racing RB19. Watch Max set a 1:28.176 here, then go beat that time to unlock the EA SPORTS™ FC design he ran during this year’s Japanese GP.

EA SPORTS™ F1® - Max Celebration

It has been a season of sheer dominance for Max Verstappen as he broke record after record on the way to his third Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship.
To celebrate Max’s achievements throughout 2023, we’ve compiled the key stats from you, our amazing F1® 23 players, to show how well he performed in-game. We’re also introducing a whole host of F1® World challenges and rewards to unlock.

Max Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing RB19 were equally as dominant in F1® 23 as they were in real-life, amassing over 832,000 race wins so far. 21% of players chose to drive as him, and Max took to the podium across 60% of all races in the game.
As we look back on the historic season, three F1® Pro Challenges will be available in F1® World, where you can take on actual lap times that Max has recorded, compare your telemetry to Max’s in EA Racenet, and unlock special rewards.
Additionally, we hope you’ll enjoy the F1® Replay and F1® World Scenario Events that we’re hosting. Relive some of Max’s best races of the year, again with rewards on offer!
All challenges start from December 12 and run to December 26.
Unlock more Special Items in F1® World
In addition to the three F1® Pro Challenges, you can take on two special F1® World events to unlock even more items this December.
First up is F1® Replay, where Max started from the front row, and fended off a fast-charging Lewis Hamilton and in-form Charles Leclerc in one of the closest battles of the season. By scoring a podium in this event, you will take home the one-off Lone Star Red Bull livery for use on their F1® World cars.
Second, we return to Miami for an F1® World Scenario Event. With the end of the Miami Grand Prix in sight, Max finds himself running in P4, however the team believe that charging through the field on a fresh set of tyres is the right call to make.
Is it the correct strategy? You can decide. Should you make it to the podium, Max’s neon-infused Miami Grand Prix helmet is the reward for your efforts.
More to come in December
With some blockbuster races throughout the year and a certain team making an epic comeback, you should keep an eye on F1® World challenges throughout December to unlock even more rewards.

Formula 1® fans clock 1 billion laps in EA SPORTS™ F1® 23

We are commemorating the end of the exciting Formula 1® 2023 season and looking back at the Year on the Track in F1® 23. EA SPORTS™ examined in-game data* revealing fans’ favourite teams, drivers, locations and popular items in the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship™. F1® 23 players had a busy year, completing 73 million races, 1 billion laps and racing wheel-to-wheel across 5.25 billion kilometres.

Three-time World Champion and EA SPORTS Ambassador, Max Verstappen, is the most chosen and played driver, followed by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, and F1® 23 Ambassador, Charles Leclerc. In line with this, Red Bull was the most popular team on the grid among players, with Mercedes and Scuderia Ferrari in close second and third.
In-game data revealed Bahrain, Melbourne and Australia as the favourite race locations with players opting for traditional tracks ahead of street circuits. Over 4.5 million red flags were triggered, making the races more exciting and strategic for players, and there were over half a million attempts at Pro Challenges, where fans attempted to beat the lap times set by actual professional drivers.

“Max Verstappen's exceptional performance and Red Bull's dominance on the track has marked this year’s season. It is very interesting to see how this has also been reflected in our game,” said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. ""It’s extremely gratifying to see the intense level of global engagement in F1 23 and how well-received new features like red flags and Pro Challenges have been. We look forward to another year of high-speed competition and providing even more engaging experiences for our dedicated players around the world."
