Blasphemous II Developer Diary: EP01

To celebrate the upcoming release of Blasphemous 2, we've been hard at work on something special.

The Game Kitchen and Team17 have collaborated on an exciting behind the scenes Dev Diaries series. In each episode, you'll get to hear unique perspectives from the talented team that worked on Blasphemous 2 and watch as they bring the game to life. From early ideas to production and development, this 11-part series offers a unique look at The Game Kitchen's monumental journey.

Производство сиквелов к успешным многомиллионным проектам часто ассоциируется с желанием продюсеров заработать ещё больше денег, используя проверенную на практике формулу. Даже если продолжение будет уступать оригиналу в качестве, всегда найдутся благодарные поклонники готовые хлебнуть тех же щей по второму кругу. В мире скромных независимых игр, где средства на разработку собираются с помощью Kickstarter, ситуация несколько отличается, ведь на авторов не оказывается такого жёсткого давления со стороны издателей. Непосредственным заказчиком, даже если речь не идёт о финансовой поддержке, являются фанаты первой части, жаждущие отправиться в любимую вселенную ещё раз. При этом фанаты — люди чрезвычайно требовательные и въедливые к любым мелочам, что накладывает дополнительную ответственность на небольшую команду разработчиков. В связи с этим сиквел к уже ставшей культовой готической "метроидвании" Blasphemous от испанской студии Team Kitchen, вышедшей в 2019 году, привлекает особое внимание.
