Exciting things afoot this week as the NALE Chapter IV page has a new written description, all as part of our ongoing work towards release.

We'll have a release date for you soon, once our final few pieces of artwork are in place, but for now, here's the new blurb that gives you a sneak peek into the exciting next chapter in Nina's story:

It’s been several months since Nina defended the Rostro Racers in court, and Fledge City residents eagerly anticipate the next season of the home-grown streaming show hit: the magical girl sensation, Valkyrie: Sacred Feathers!

But when an on-set lover’s tiff takes a dark turn, Nina Aquila is tasked with defending Millia Nordin, the lead actress, in a murder case that defies explanation, even by the defendant herself.

North of the city, dissent grows as the Bikers of the Wastes are vanishing without a trace. Seeking answers, a lone rider saddles up for the long journey south, searching for the one man who she knows who can help her.

With Millia in custody, tension on the streets of Fledge City rises as each night brings with it unnatural, unexplainable events; disappearances, explosions, tales of monsters sighted in dark alleyways. Set on a journey where present fiction echoes the truth of the past, can Nina find the strength buried within herself to search for answers, and rise as the hero that Fledge City needs?

Lore meets the law for a war-between-worlds, with Fledge City’s courtroom as the fulcrum about which fate will turn!

Feathers will fly, wings unfurl, and light will shine amid the darkness… But before that, there’s gonna be magic, monsters and a whole load of sparkles.

I can never put a date on the release of Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Chapter IV. Longtime fans will be aware this isn't my day-job, and I can only work on the games when I have time. But things have been progressing well on Chapter IV recently, and I want to just share with you that I aim to try and release C4 before the end of 2024. Thanks in advance for your patience; I'm sure no-one expected it to take this long (myself included!) but I hope you can understand.

Hi all, and welcome to our 4th development update for Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Chapter IV: Sacred Feathers!

From the start of the year, a big part of our focus has been on the subgame for Chapter IV, which will occupy similar prominence to the card game in Chapter II, or the driving segments of Chapter III. We really wanted to push to make this something unique and special within the RPG Maker space, and we're really happy with how that has come together.

Unfortunately, just like in prior chapters, the nature of the subgame is tied to the story of the chapter, meaning that we don't have any screenshots right now. However, the subgame is "feature complete", now only needing content to be added as we progress through working on the rest of the game.

So with the game written and the subgame made, we're now back to the real core of NALE development - creating the maps, cutscenes and state flow for the actual investigative and court parts of the game!

But we wanted to at least provide something visual with this update, so here's a preview of Chapter IV's title screen:



This also gives an idea of the tone and colour scheme that Chapter IV is going for.
