The biggest Premier Play event on MTG Arena is happening this weekend when Championship 5 kicks off! Coverage on twitch.tv/Magic begins at 9 a.m. PT each day of the event: Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31.

[h3]CHANGES COMING TO MTG ARENA'S PREMIER PLAY[/h3]

Exciting changes to Premier Play are coming with the May Qualifier Weekend event. These include a restructuring of Qualifier Weekends and Arena Championships that will make it easier for players to compete in Premier Play events.

For example, beginning with May's Qualifier Weekend, to move from Day One to Day Two of the two-day event, you will still need seven wins, but it will take three losses before you're eliminated. Make it into Day Two, and instead of needing seven wins to earn an invitation to the Arena Championship, you'll need only six.

Starting with Outlaws of Thunder Junction preorders, we will begin expanding our currency support to include yen for players in Japan. As a result, players in that region may notice pricing adjustments to account for current exchange rates and taxes.

As with other non-USD prices, we will be adjusting these prices several times per year to account for currency exchange rates. Non-USD prices may fluctuate up and down based on the conversion rate between the USD and relative currency at the time of adjustment.

Incorporate these new, digital-only cards into your drafts and constructed play on MTG Arena.

Alchemy: Karlov Manor is a 30-card set with cards legal in Alchemy, Historic, Timeless, and Brawl formats! Like past Alchemy sets, we will be hosting an Alchemy Premier Draft March 5–12.

Cards in this release will incorporate a new mechanic that's fitting for the set: incorporate! A card that incorporates adds an additional mandatory mana cost to another card, and that second card gains additional attributes/text. Incorporate perpetually adds an additional casting cost to that card, adding any new colors from that cost, and adds abilities/text to that card for the rest of the game.

[h3]ALCHEMY REBALANCES[/h3]
We have two rebalances to announce.

Fragment Reality has created an unfun early game combo with multiple Leyline cards that works even when taking a mulligan to four or three cards. This has resulted in a powerful and consistent deck that is taking up too much space in Historic and Timeless metagames.

Geological Appraiser has proven it's a bit too aggressive for our current Alchemy and Historic formats. By slowing down this card, discover-based decks will be better balanced across the formats.

The first Pro Tour of 2024 is happening this weekend during MagicCon: Chicago, February 23–25! The Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor competition will be streamed live at twitch.tv/magic twitch.tv/magic, and there'll be plenty of social coverage from players, fans, and content creators using the hashtag #PTKarlov.

Coverage begins at 9 a.m. PT each day, Friday and Saturday. Then, Top 8 playoff coverage will begin on Sunday at 8 a.m. PT.

[h3]ARENA OPEN: MURDERS AT KARLOV MANOR MARCH 2–3[/h3]

Here's your first opportunity to put your Limited format skills with the latest set to the test! Arena Open: Murders at Karlov Manor happens Saturday and Sunday, March 2–3, and features Sealed and Draft matches.

The Arena Open is also where you can earn an invitation to the April Qualifier Weekend and as much as $2,000!

Everyone who enters receives the Warleaders Call sleeve featuring art by Aldo Dominguez!

[h3]YOU CAN NOW IMPORT DECK NAMES[/h3]
Deck names can now be included when importing your deck files!

To use this feature, add an "About" section in your decklist file. Below that, add "Name" followed by the name of your deck. Your imported deck will appear with that name rather than the generic "Imported Deck."

For example, if you want to import your Mono-Red Aggro deck, the start of your decklist file might look like this:

This addition is completely optional, and decklist files without it will continue to successfully import. If you are a content creator that provides decklists designed for import into MTG Arena, please consider adding this section to your output!
