[Updated January 5] Magical Miracle Time Issue in Reboot World

[Updated January 5 at 8:18 PM PST] The scheduled maintenance on January 6 will be postponed and tentatively rescheduled to January 11. We would like to take some extra care and time to ensure that the additional period of Magical Miracle Time is without any issues before we release the event. We apologize for this additional delay, as we know that those who were affected by the issues on December 25 and December 26 are eager to "make-up" their missed Magical Miracle Time. We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we prepare for the event.

[Updated December 25 at 4:40 AM PST] Please note that NA and EU Reboot players that are affected by the issue where certain Magical Miracle Time event time slots did not work on December 25 or 26 will be given another day of Magical Miracle Time event after our upcoming maintenance, tentatively scheduled for January 6. We will provide more details about the event at a later date, thank you!

[Updated December 25 at 3:20 AM PST] We've discovered that the Magical Miracle Time event's time slots that coincide with that of non-Reboot worlds (December 25 at 8:30 AM UTC & December 25 at 10:00 PM UTC & December 26 at 3:00 AM UTC) do not work as they should for players that registered for those days in NA and EU Reboot worlds. Thus, the remaining available Magical Miracle Time event will be for those that registered for December 26th during the following time slots in Reboot worlds:
  • December 26, 2021
    • 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM UTC
    • 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM UTC

We will provide an update on our plans for the missed time slots when it is finalized. Again, we are very sorry about the inconvenience this issue has caused for our Reboot players.

Hi Maplers,

We've received reports concerning the issue where Magical Miracle Time perks were not granted on December 25th during the 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM UTC time slot for those who registered for December 25th in NA and EU Reboot worlds. We are currently looking into this issue and will provide an update along with our next steps when we can. Pink Bean Bulletin - Client Performance Issues

Greetings Maplers,

We have seen the posts about the client performance issues, or FPS lag as players have been calling it, and we would like to let you know that we are aware of the complaints and have been looking into the issue.

We suspect there may be an issue with how we have packaged the client but we are still investigating the root cause. This doesn’t affect every MapleStory player but we understand it does affect players with certain PC configurations or settings. In our maintenance on Dec. 22, we have attempted to adjust the way we package the client but since we do not have the exact PC configurations and settings that cause the issue, we are unable to reproduce the issue and confirm if this change helped with the client performance issues. If you find that the client is still suffering the same issues after this week’s maintenance, we would appreciate it if you could submit a ticket to Customer Support and provide us with a video and the hardware specs of your PC.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of our MapleStory players for their support this year. It has been a very eventful year full of ups and downs. We appreciate the critical feedback you have provided, as well as your understanding during this busy year. We hope to work better together next year!

Maplemas Merrymaking Event

Tis the season for merriness and trees and MapleStory! Enjoy Maplemas this year as you take part in Maple LIVE and claim special seasonal prizes!

Event Details:
  • Make a massively Merry Maplemas by mocking-up and making manifest the Maplemas mood in Maple m-World!
  • Requirements: Lv. 101 and above (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2). Your character must also have completed the "[Maple LIVE] A World Where Everyone Is A Star" quest. Only available for characters that have obtained 300 Pink Beans for the day.
  • Accept the "[Maplemas] Decorate the Tree" quest by talking to Cassandra or within the star event notifier on the left side of the screen.
  • There are a total of 3 missions to complete, and each unlocks every day at 12:00 AM UTC.
  • When you talk to Cassandra, she will provide a hint to a quiz for you to answer.
    • You must have obtained 300 Pink Beans for that day to participate in Maplemas Merrymaking missions.
    • Cassandra gives different hints to different players. Make sure you cooperate with fellow Maplers to figure out the answers!
  • Once you’ve discovered the correct answer and completed the mission, talk to Cassandra to receive your special holiday-themed rewards.
  • Hidden mission alert! Complete the hidden mission to receive the Reindeer and Present Mount Coupon!
  • Maplemas Merrymaking rewards can be obtained once a day per world.
    • Note that the daily participation is counted based on the date when the quest was completed.
    • Ex: If you started the quest on December 23 but completed that quest on December 24, you will not be able to proceed with the next quest until December 25.
Rewards:
  • Mission 1: Complete the first mission to receive the following rewards:
    • Rudi’s Hat Coupon: Tradable within account, 7-day duration. Use the coupon to receive Rudi’s Hat: Untradeable. Cash item can be transferred to the Cash Shop Inventory.
    • Pink Bean Coupon (x100): Untradeable, 7-day duration.
  • Mission 2: Complete the second mission to receive the following rewards:
    • Rudi’s Outfit Coupon: Tradable within account, 7-day duration. Use the coupon to receive Rudi’s Outfit: Untradeable. Cash item can be transferred to the Cash Shop Inventory.
    • Pink Bean Coupon (x100): Untradeable, 7-day duration.
  • Mission 3: Complete the third mission to receive the following rewards:
    • Holiday Nostalgia Chair Coupon: Tradeable within account, 7-day duration. Use the coupon to obtain Holiday Nostalgia Chair: Untradeable.

Notice Regarding Limitations on Certain Item Functionalities in New Areas

Attention Maplers,

We’d like to share with you regarding our plans to limit certain items’ functionality usage in future Lv. 300 and above areas. In new Lv. 300 and above areas, a limitation will be placed on using item functionalities that affect the overall game balance. This change was decided after thorough and careful consideration, so that the current gameplay of players who own these items would not be largely affected while still taking into account the health of the future game environment and new player experiences. There currently are no plans ready to share regarding the implementation date of Lv. 300 and above areas. However, we wanted to give our players advanced notice so that you’ll have enough time to take note of these future changes before they take effect. We hope you understand.

The following items will be affected by this change in the new Lv. 300 and above areas:
    Breath of Divinity
    Lucid’s Earring
    Reaper's Pendant
    The Ring of Torment
    Firestarter Ring
    Battle-Roid (M)/(F)
    Frenzy Totem
    Wild Totem

You may be curious about how Kanna’s ‘Kishin Shoukan’ skill will behave in the new Lv. 300 and above area, as the skill provides similar features to some of the items listed above. Our teams have been reviewing the ‘Kishin Shoukan’ skill in detail and since this skill has a unique effect on the overall balance of the game, we plan on reducing its effectiveness next year. We will share the finalized, detailed plans with you as soon as we have them available.

We plan to execute the following changes to avoid any potential confusion going forward:
  • Add a notice regarding the item usage limitation on the description tooltip of the items listed above during our v.230 patch update maintenance.
  • New areas implemented with Lv. 300 and above condition will retain the item usage limitation even if their level condition gets adjusted to below Lv. 300 sometime in the future.

        • For example: If you used 10 Red Cubes during MMT on 12/25 or 12/26, you will receive 5 Red Cubes. 
      • Red and Black Cubes that expired between 12/25, 12/26 - 1/11 Scheduled Maintenance will be returned and extended to 1/20 23:59 UTC.  
      • Red and Black Cubes that will expire between 1/11 (after the maintenance) - 1/14 3:00 AM UTC will be extended by 10 days.
