Hi Maplers,

We discovered an issue with Monster Life's Ultrafine Monster Box where the Beryl monster could not be obtained from opening the boxes. We sincerely apologize for the issue and the delay in identifying it. We plan to apply a fix during our June 9 maintenance. After the maintenance, players will be able to properly obtain the Beryl monster from opening the Ultrafine Monster Box.

The following monsters will be available from the Ultrafine Monster Box after the June 9 maintenance:

We plan to provide the following compensation to the players who have been affected by this issue:

• Players that used the Ultrafine Monster Box between May 1, 2019 and June 9, 2021 (before maintenance) will receive Monster Life Gems (x8) per box used.
  
• Players that have monsters in the above list registered to the Monster Life Picture Book prior to the time of this announcement (June 7 at 11:30 AM PDT) will receive Monster Life Gems (x300) per account.
  
  • We are, unfortunately, unable to recover the data for Ultrafine Monster Box usage prior to May 1, 2019 due to our policy of storing this information for a limited amount of time.
• Note: Players that meet both criteria will receive both compensation sets.

The Monster Life Gems from the compensation will be added directly to the player's Monster Life Gem inventory. Again, we apologize for such an issue with the Ultrafine Monster Box and we will work harder towards providing a better experience in the future.

Attention Maplers,

With the v.223 Update, currently scheduled for June 9, we will be making a change to the character death penalty in MapleStory. Instead of removing already earned EXP from characters upon death, characters will receive EXP at a reduced rate and a reduced drop rate for a period of time after their death.

While we will have more to share about this major change in the future, we would like to give you advanced notice about how this change will affect Safety Charms and Safety Gems, Cash Shop items which currently protect players from losing EXP upon death. After the v.223 Update, Safety Charms and Safety Gems will change in the following ways:

• Safety Charms' functionality will be changed to immediately remove the reduction in EXP earned and drop rates due to the character’s death.
• Rookie Defense Charms, which could be obtained from previous events, will be deleted with the changes to the death penalty.
• For Safety Charms obtained and owned through in-game events or NPCs, we plan to remove them from the [Etc] inventory and distribute updated versions. Please claim them through the Gift Drop icon on the left side of the screen within 14 days of the v223 update.
• With the changes to the death penalty, the sale of Safety Gems, Leveling Packages, and Deluxe Leveling Packages will be discontinued a week prior to the v223 update.
• With the changes to the death penalty, Safety Gems will be removed with the v223 update and the following refunds will be issued for accounts that own Safety Gems:
  • Permanent duration Safety Gems obtained through Cash Shop sales will be removed and accounts affected by the removal will be fully refunded with Maple Points.
  • The Marvel Machine coupons for Safety Gems will be disabled and accounts affected by the coupon disabling will be refunded with 1,640 Maple Points (1/3 of Marvel Machine spin price) per coupon.

We hope that this change to death penalties and Safety Charms will make for a better MapleStory experience going forward.

Summer Code Guessing Event

Event Details:

• Collaborate with your fellow Maplers and uncover clues for a powerful set of rewards!
• Each day, the MapleStory social media sites, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, will feature a new image, containing a clue about that day's special Coupon Code!
• Figure out the code and head to the MapleStory in-game Cash Shop.
• Click on the "Coupon" button in the top-right corner of the shop and enter the code to claim that day's prize!
• After the eighth clue has been revealed, claim that prize and then combine all eight codes into a single coupon code (AllCodesInOrderInOneWord, not case-sensitive) to claim the final prize, the Hip Hop Artist Set!
• Prizes can be claimed once per account.
• Codes can be redeemed for prizes at any time before June 23, 11:59 PM PDT to claim the prizes.

Event Details:

• Count down to the big Neo summer update by defeating monsters to earn special prizes!
• Requirements: Lv. 101 and above (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2).
• Talk to Cassandra, or use the star event notifier on the left side of the screen, to accept the "[New Maple Leaf] New Maple Leaf 2021!" quest.
• Each day, you will be able to accept a new "[New Maple Leaf] Find the New Maple Leaf Box!" quest.
• During the quest, defeat monsters within 10 levels of your character for a chance at finding that day's New Maple Leaf Box! There are five boxes to claim, each with a guaranteed item and a chance of an additional reward!
• Event can be participated in once per account.
• Boxes can be opened from June 9, after the v.223 Update, until 11:59 PM UTC on June 22, 2021.
• There are five New Maple Leaf Boxes to earn, so join us all throughout the week to earn your rewards!
