It's not just Japan: NC Soft, Nexon and Shift Up down as market anxieties rout the games industry

The South Korean stock market took a serious blow as markets opened this morning, and as the trading day came to a close - around an hour ago as of writing - it's clear the video game industry hasn't been spared from significant loss in stock value. Companies like Nexon, Shift Up, NC Soft and more have all been hit.

Upcoming Marvel Machine Changes

A pair of changes are coming to the Marvel Machine that will take effect with its next run, currently planned for late summer 2025. These changes are:
  • Newly purchased Marvels can be used up to 90 days after the end of the event, and will expire after that point.
  • Item codes obtained from used Marvels will remain available to be redeemed in-game for 1 year after being acquired from the Marvel Machine.

Maplers with remaining Marvels purchased from previous runs of the event will still be able to use them during future Marvel Machine runs and they will not expire. Those pre-existing Marvels will be expended before any newly purchased Marvels are used.

Additional Information on Issues Related to Cash Shop

Greetings Maplers,

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic interest in the v258 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Collaboration patch with Steam Market, Auto-Harvesting, and other new features which came on March 19th.

In addition, we sincerely apologize for not providing a smooth playing environment due to errors and unscheduled maintenances.

Following our announcement about the Philosopher’s Book issue yesterday, we conducted an additional review internally and newly confirmed the two problems below.

We will explain the resolution and how we plan to address the following issues.

1. April Fool's SSB Rewards Pre-Applied to 2025 Version

It has been confirmed that the rewards for the upcoming April Fool's SSB, scheduled to be sold on March 26 were pre-applied with the patch on March 19. While the box has not been officially sold yet, players in Heroic Worlds were able to obtain an April Fool’s SSB through the Philosopher’s Book. As a result, any April Fool’s SSB used after March 19 gave the 2025 April Fool’s rewards and the probability rates can be found through the following link. This does mean some players have gotten new April Fool’s items early.

If you have used an April Fool's Day SSB from March 19 to before this notice and you are not satisfied with the items you received, please contact Player Support and we will process the refunds according to our policy.

2. An issue related to Pet Equipment in Heroic World

Among the Pet Equipment is Lil Nezuko's Ribbon equipment, an item that does not change her appearance. While this is noted in the item tooltip, we understand that this has caused confusion for our players, particularly in Heroic Worlds. Since the item does not have any effect, we have decided to stop selling the Nezuko Pet Equipment in Heroic World.

If you purchased Lil Nezuko’s Ribbon in Heroic World and would like a refund, please contact Player Support and we will process your request after retrieving the item.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Our MapleStory Team is always listening and closely monitoring feedback from all players through various communities. We are committed to identifying and resolving issues as quickly as possible, and we continue to strive for a better MapleStory.

Thank you.

Steam Community Market (Beta) Issue Update

Hi Maplers,

We’re excited to see everyone’s interest in the launch of the Steam Community Market (Beta) feature! However, we’re aware that a small number of players experienced an issue where their items disappeared when attempting to register them to the Steam Inventory UI.

As we continue to improve and refine this Beta feature, we’ve identified the cause and are working on a fix scheduled for next week’s maintenance.

To prevent further issues, we're temporarily disabling the ability to register items to the Steam Inventory UI and the sale of Oswell's Scissors of Karma today, at 2:00 PM PDT (5:00 PM EDT / 10:00 PM CET / 8:00 AM AEDT March 22), until the fix is in place. Please note that any items already in your Steam Inventory will continue to function normally on the Steam Community Market and can be retrieved as usual.

For players who were affected, any lost items will be returned once the issue is resolved.

We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

The MapleStory Team
