6th Job is Available Now!

After the long Journey Toward the Sixth Star, 6th Job is finally available now!
6th Job
• As the boundary between Maple World and Grandis is sundered, a new form of Erda has been unleashed. Taming this new power will do more than save the goddesses of the two worlds: it will unlock skills never seen before in either land.
• Requirement: Lv. 260 and above (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2). Character must have completed the ‘[Convergence] True Form’ quest, ‘5th Job: Record of Power’ quest, and 5th Job Advancement.
• The wait is over! 6th Job Advancement can be started by accepting the ‘[6th Job] Merged Dimension’ quest within the lightbulb notifier on the left side of the screen.

• You can return and continue where you left off with the 6th Job Advancement by accepting the ‘[6th Job] Continue with the Job Advancement’ quest within the lightbulb icon.
• As you progress through the quests, you’ll receive the following quest items. You must activate the stones and defeat monsters near your level (20 levels below and 20 levels above) to fill each of them with EXP. Once you complete each quest, you will receive EXP as a reward.

Hexa Matrix
Requirement: Lv. 260 and above (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2). Character must have completed the 6th Job Advancement.
• The Hexa Matrix will allow you to improve the skills that you've been relying on for years, granting them brand new effects! Gain new strength as you infuse this power into your entire arsenal of abilities!
• Complete the 6th Job Advancement to access the Hexa Matrix via your Skill UI under the “VI” tab.
• Hexa Matrix has 2 different system types: Hexa Skills and Hexa Stats.
• Hexa Skills
• Hexa Skill Nodes consist of the following:
• Skill Node: New Origin skill will be given once activated
• Mastery Node: 4th Job or lower skill will either be enhanced or replaced once activated
• Boost Node: 5th Job skill will be enhanced once activated
• Common Node: New skill that is shared between characters of the same class will be given once activated. Common Nodes will be available at a later date, so stay tuned!
• Skill Node for the job will be activated upon the completion of the 6th Job Advancement.
• Hexa Skill Nodes can be enhanced up to Rank 30. Once the node is enhanced, the skill that is affected by the node will also level up.
• Mastery Nodes and Boost Nodes can be activated when certain 5th Job skills reach a specific level, not counting the slot enhancement levels.
• If the skill requirement of the skill that is being activated is no longer met due to unequipping or extracting the V Node, the Hexa Skill Node will be deactivated and the new skill given through the Hexa Skill Node will no longer be available.
• Hexa Stats
• Hexa Stats are stats that can be obtained and enhanced through Hexa Stat Nodes.
• Hexa Stats consist of the following stats:
• Critical Damage
• Boss Damage
• Ignore Defense
• Damage
• Attack Power & Magic ATT
• STR/DEX/INT/LUK
• There are a total of six Hexa Stat Nodes and one can be activated starting with this v.246 update. The rest of the Hexa Stat Nodes will be added at a later date.
• You can set one Main Stat with a higher value and two Additional Stats with a lower value per each Hexa Stat Node.
• You can set one type of stat once within all Hexa Stat Nodes
• Ex: Boss Damage stat can only be set as a Main Stat for one of the six Hexa Stat Nodes
• You can set up to two duplicate types of stats as Additional Stats within all Hexa Stat Nodes
• Ex: Critical Damage stat can be set as one of the two Additional Stats on Stat Node #1 and Stat Node #2
• You are unable to equip the same type of stats within the same Stat Node
• Ex: If the Main Stat is set as DEF Ignore, the two Additional Stats have to be set among the five other stats
• Hexa Stat Node can be enhanced up to Rank 20 and one of the three stats’ level will increase with a fixed rate per each rank-up attempt.
• Each individual stat can be enhanced up to Rank 10.
• The higher the level of the Main Stat, the more Sol Erda Fragments will be needed for each subsequent enhancement.
• The higher the level of the Main Stat, the more stats are granted.
• Once Hexa Stat Node has been enhanced to Rank 20, the enhancement can be saved. Though, be mindful of the following rules:
• Certain functions, such as enhancing or resetting, will be disabled for saved nodes
• You can select one node that has been enhanced or a saved node to apply to a character
• If you attempt to save when there is already a saved node, the previously saved node information will be replaced
• Once Hexa Stat Node has been enhanced to Rank 10, its stat level can be reset using mesos. Hexa Stat Node rank and each individual stat level will reset to 0 afterward.
• You can also use mesos to reset the type of stats set on the Hexa Stat Node.
• The meso prices for changing stat type and resetting stat level on your Hexa Stat Node are the following:
• Stat Type Change: 100 million mesos
• Hexa Stat Node Reset: 10 million mesos
• Hexa Skills and Hexa Stats can be activated or enhanced by using enhancement materials: Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragment.

• AEDT (UTC +11): Wednesday, November 15, 2023 (End of Maintenance) - Wednesday, February 7, 2024 10:59 AM

Please avoid altering your computer time when participating in this event. Any changes to your computer time clock can cause issues when creating or deleting Burning characters for this event.

Create a brand-new character during the extra-long event period and select it to have the special "Burning" effect. This event is open to characters in all worlds, as well as Burning World, except for Zero characters.

After your character reaches Lv. 10, every time that character levels up it will gain an additional two levels all the way up to Lv. 260! You also have the option to designate one of your existing Lv. 200-258 characters as 'Hyper Burning' instead, allowing them to gain that benefit!

In addition to all this, you'll also earn amazing rewards along the way, including Root Abyss and Fafnir gear! When you reach Lv. 200 on your ‘Burning’ character, don’t stop there but keep on training! You will receive additional rewards on your ‘Hyper Burning’ character at Lv. 200, Lv. 210, and every 5 levels after Lv. 210, up to Lv. 260!

Event Details:
• Reach level 260 fast on a new or existing character with the Hyper Burning event!
• Requirements: Either:
• A newly created character made during the event period (Zero characters cannot participate in this manner.)
• A Lv. 200 - 258 character (Zero characters must be both within that range and have completed Story Quest Act 2)
• After creating a new character, you will be given an option to give it a ‘Hyper Burning’ effect.
• You cannot go back to give it a ‘Burning’ effect after refusing to do so during character creation.
• You can only 'Hyper Burn' 1 character per account during the event.
• After your ‘Hyper Burning’ character reaches Lv. 10, they will start to earn two additional levels each time your character gains a level up to Lv. 260.
• You will receive special Hyper Burning Rewards when your ‘Burning’ character meets the listed level milestones.
• Alternatively, you may elect to set one of your existing Lv. 200 - 258 characters as 'Hyper Burning', by selecting it on character select screen and clicking on 'Set as Hyper Burning'.
• Doing so will prevent you from designating a newly-created character as 'Hyper Burning'.
• You will still be able to create 'Mega Burning' characters on Burning World.
• There’s more rewards waiting for you past Lv. 200! Once your ‘Burning’ character reaches Lv. 200 (or you designate an existing character as Burning), you can obtain Bonus Rewards up until Lv. 260. You'll also get even better rewards for playing on Burning World!
Burning World
• Wednesday, November 15, 2023 (End of Maintenance) - Wednesday, February 7, 2024 (Start of Maintenance)

Burning World is a special world with special rules that will exist only for the duration of the Burning World event, filled with boosts to make it easier than ever to level up fast. While on Burning World, all characters will gain the special Burning skill, which grants the following bonuses:
• 1.5x EXP
• Weapon ATT/Magic ATT +50
• Damage against Normal Monsters +30%
• Damage against Bosses +30%
• Critical Rate +30%
• Critical Damage +30%
• Knockback Resistance +100%
• STR/DEX/INT/LUK +50
• MaxHP/MaxMP +2,500

You will also be able to create three Mega Burning characters, who operate in the same manner as in previous Mega Burning events: After reaching Lv. 10, every time that character levels up, they will also gain two bonus levels, all the way up to Lv. 150. Combined with the Burning EXP bonus and boosted damage, you'll be able to power your way through those levels faster than ever before!

Additionally, even after your Mega Burning characters have been created, you'll be able to create another two characters to level up and leap, which will still benefit from the Burning skill! Please note that, the default number of Character Slots on Burning World is six, and Character Slot Expansion Coupons cannot be used in Burning World. You can move up to 5 characters that meet the requirements. Additionally, Zero characters cannot be selected as a "Burning" character on character creation, but can be selected as your Hyper Burning character upon reaching Lv. 200 and completing Story Act Quest 2.

As Burning World is a temporary world to be removed at the end of the World Leap stage, some MapleStory features will be unavailable there:

Lv. 150+ characters in Burning World will be allowed to leap to another world of your choosing during the World Leap period, taking their equipped items, inventory, and mesos with them to join their new communities. When this period begins, all Burning World characters will be moved to the Burning Leap Zone map, where they will be able to speak to the NPC Mover to complete their exodus.

Maple Memo: v.246 New Age Update Clarification

Hi Maplers,

We understand that there are a lot of concerns about information that was recently revealed regarding the v.246 New Age: 6th Job update. First, we would like to truly apologize for causing concern due to the lack of prior information regarding New Age’s 6th Job content. We would like to clarify the development intentions for the parts our Maplers are currently worried about, and share future plans.

6th Job Advancement: Sol Erda
As we prepared the 6th Job Advancement update, our goal was to provide motivations to our players for character growth and enhancement, as well as provide content that players would be able to use actively and flexibly, without being limited to only mobbing. We wanted to consider the appropriate daily material acquisition rate and method, taking into consideration our existing players’ behavior, while also taking into account the difficulty level where newer players wouldn’t feel like it would be too much of a hurdle. We wanted to mitigate the negative aspects to the gameplay experience such as illegal tool usage or paying for services for other players to farm that occurs as a result of having an acquisition method that was mainly focused on mobbing.

With these goals in mind, we wished to lower the burden that our players might feel regarding play time and increase the accessibility for casual players by distributing the Sol Erda Energy and the Sol Erda Fragments through the Daily Quest. Additionally, we added the daily cap because we wished to narrow the gap that depended on playtime between the hardcore players and those who could not dedicate as much time to the game. We were planning to monitor the actual acquisition time of our players, the play time, and adjust the cap as needed. We understand that seeing changes like this being shown in gameplay videos and streams without detailed context from our team has caused a lot of anger and frustration with you all. We would like to apologize to our Maplers once again, since the design intention for this part has not been explained enough in advance. Regardless of the design intentions, we understand that there are many aspects to these changes that you are understandably concerned about, so in addition to the Daily Quest that will remain, we will remove the cap and explore separate improvement measures for parts that could be harmful for the gameplay experience.

Also, we would like to share that we have no plans to release the Sol Erda Booster at the same time as the 6th Job Advancement update. We will review the progress of our players’ 6th Job Advancement and determine if and when there is a need to further augment the ways in which players can obtain Sol Erda.

Frenzy Totem
We would like to confirm that - contrary to some information being circulated in the community - Frenzy Totems were always planned to function as they normally do outside of instanced maps and that is intended to remain the same in the New Age update. There was a bug in our test server regarding this functionality and we did not properly address this situation before the information was discovered and spread within the community. As mentioned in the v.246 patch notes released yesterday, the instanced maps are provided during the New Age patch duration for the Sacred Power fields, and the way the Frenzy Totem works in these instanced fields are as follows:
• Frenzy Totem effects will only apply to the hunting map of the character that used the Frenzy Totem. The effect will disappear once the character leaves the instanced map.

We understand that this kind of communication should have come out sooner and the context for why we made these changes should have been delivered at the same time we announced them. We hope that this memo can, at the very least, give you insight into how we implement design changes to our service.

Sincerely,

Mjollnir and the MapleStory Team
