Hi Maplers,

We are currently investigating the issues with NA Reboot channels that started occurring approximately around 7:00 PM PDT on July 20, 2023. Any updates will be added to the top of this post. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

In the midst of our scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, we sometimes perform hotfixes to address a variety of bugs and issues without bringing down the servers. We will use this post as a collective hub to update our players with the hotfix details, such as when and which fix was applied. Each time there is an update, this post will be bumped up on our news page and the update will clearly be indicated with the date the hotfix was applied. We hope that this will be a useful record and helpful information for our players.

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that addresses a variety of bugs and issues reported within the v.243 Savior: Shangri-La & Kaling update.

Hotfixes:

• July 20, 2023
  • Credit is now properly given for completing the Arcane River Special Content when refusing the Weekly EXP reward.
  • Fixed the issue where certain Sixth Star Chapter 3 Challenge Missions could be completed before the start of Chapter 3.
• July 19, 2023
  • The quest 'Unlimited Growth! Hyper Burning!' no longer crashes the client after completing the dialogue.

 

A new star is coming to Maple World, a new source of power beyond anything that's come before. The heroes of MapleStory must collect star fragments to create the Sixth Star and unlock its power. Start preparing now as the Sixth Job quests will become available at Lv. 260 later this year, with new story content, new quests to complete, and greater foes to test your newfound power in MapleStory!

(Burning characters who wish to participate in the Journey Toward the Sixth Star event should read the important note below)

• Chapter 2
  • PDT (UTC -7): Tuesday, August 8th at 5:00 PM - Tuesday, August 29th at 4:59 PM
  • CEST (UTC +2): Wednesday, August 9th at 2:00 AM - Wednesday, August 30th at 1:59 AM
  • AEST (UTC +10): Wednesday, August 9th at 10:00 AM - Wednesday, August 30th at 9:59 AM

Event Details:

Terry came to Maple World after hearing the news that the sixth power was detected. Terry says that the Sixth Star acts as a medium that connects the warriors of Maple World with the sixth power, and asks you to collect the dispersed star fragments. If you collect the star fragments created by the energy of various powers and bring them to Terry, Terry will gather the power of the stars through the starlight concentrator. It is said that a Star Piece can be created by condensing the power contained in the star fragments, and when six Star Pieces are gathered, a Sixth Star can be created... Let's help Terry collect the star fragments scattered throughout Maple World and go on a long journey to obtain the Sixth Star and sixth power.

• Accept the quest '[Sixth Star] Terry Came Bearing Special News' from the event notifier on the left side of the screen to participate.
• Requirement: Lv. 101 and above. (Zero characters must have completed up to Chapter 2)
• Start the event to view the event UI and progress with daily and challenge missions.
  
  • You can claim various rewards from the event UI after completing daily and challenge missions.
• Each chapter, from chapter 1 to chapter 5, will span 3 weeks with the final chapter 6 only lasting for 2 weeks.
• Chapters can only be completed once per account.
  • Mission progress is shared between characters of the same world.
  • Daily mission rewards can only be claimed once per account.

Chapters 1-5

• Each chapter is made of daily missions and challenge missions, and a chapter reward can be obtained by clearing 10 daily missions and 5 challenge missions during the chapter period.
• Missions of each chapter are themed after growth, enhancement, battle, adventure, and cooperation.
• A grace system has been added for players who participate a little late so they can earn the previous chapters’ rewards.
  
  • You can spend 3,000 Maple Points to add 1 daily mission completion count. This can be bought up to 3 times a day. You can’t earn the daily mission rewards.
  • You can spend 10,000 Maple Points to add 1 challenge mission completion count. This can be bought once a day but you can’t earn challenge mission rewards.

Daily Missions (Chapters 1-5)

• Open the event UI and click on 'Sixth Star' in the daily mission area.
• One of seven daily missions is selected at random. (There is an equal chance for all.)
  
  • Missions of each chapter are themed after growth/enhancement/battle/adventure/cooperation.
  • Missions can be changed for free once a day before accepting a selected daily mission.
  • Daily missions can't be changed or given up on after accepting a daily mission.
• You can click [Claim Reward] in the UI to obtain rewards.

• Complete daily missions to obtain:
  
  • Daily Mission Completion Box: Tradeable within account, 1-day duration. Use to receive:
    
    • Starlight Growth Potion: Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
    • One of the three following items:
      
      • 10% EXP Coupon (30 min): Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
      • Nodestone: Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
      • Arcane Symbol Selection Coupon (x3): Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.

Challenge Missions (Chapters 1-5)

• Different challenge missions are available for each chapter.
• Rewards can be claimed upon completing challenge missions during each chapter period.
  
  • This only counts when you have reached or completed the relevant challenge missions during the current chapter period.
  • Certain missions are checked even when progressed after chapter periods due to their characteristics.

Chapter Rewards (Chapters 1-5)

• Meet the reward conditions during the chapter period to obtain chapter rewards.
  
  • Progress in 10 or more daily missions.
  • Progress in 5 or more challenge missions.
• The chapter rewards can be claimed by clicking the button on the UI when the daily mission and challenge mission conditions are met even when the chapter period is over.

  • Chapter I Completion Box: Tradeable within account, 14-day duration. Use to receive:
    
    • Chapter I EXP Potion: Tradeable within account, 14-day duration.
    • Arcane Symbol Selection Coupon (x1,200): Tradeable within account, 28-day duration.
    • Arcane Umbra Weapon Box: Tradeable within account, 14-day duration.
    • Shiny Prestige Box: Tradeable within account, 14-day duration. Use to receive:
      
      • Legendary Circulator: Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
      • Chaos Circulator (x5): Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
      • Black Circulator (x3): Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
      • Special Medal of Honor: Tradeable within account, 10-day duration.
    • Karma Solid Cube (x20): Tradeable within account, 14-day duration.

    • Radiant Star Pop Mount Coupon: Tradeable within account, 14-day duration. Use to receive:
      • [Mount] Radiant Star Pop Mount: Untradeable, Permanent.
  • Second Star Piece: Tradeable within account, Permanent.

Burning World Characters

• Characters on Burning World will be able to participate in the Journey Toward the Sixth Star event.
• If a player leaps from Burning World to Scania, Bera, Aurora, Elysium, or Luna, the progression status of the Sixth Star Daily and Challenge missions will only reflect the progression completed on Scania, Bera, Aurora, Elysium, or Luna. Any Daily and Challenge mission progress on Burning World will not be transferred or reflected on Scania, Bera, upon completing the World Leap.
  
  • Since progress is not carried over after leaping, you will need to make up the entire chapter using the Make Up button.
• Rewards that have been already claimed in the Burning World cannot be claimed again in the Normal World. All rewards in the Sixth Star event can be obtained once per account.
• The Star Pieces earned in Burning World will be transferred after completing the World Leap. But please note that all Star Pieces need to be in the same world in order to complete the Sixth Chapter. Therefore, please make sure all Star Pieces will be on the same world when deciding which world to leap to.
• Please see the explanation with the examples below for additional help in understanding:
  
  • Example 1: If a player completes Chapters 1 and 2 on Burning World and claims all rewards, and then Leaps to a world with no Sixth Star Event progress, the Sixth Star UI of the world the player moved to will show that the rewards for Chapter 1 and 2 have been claimed, but the Daily and Challenge Missions will be shown as incomplete and the mission completion counts will be shown as 0. The mission records from Burning World will not be displayed. This only affects the UI and will not impact further 6th Star Event progress.
  • Example 2: If a player leaps to Scania, Bera, Aurora, Elysium, or Luna while still progressing towards completing Chapter 1 (Ex: 7 Daily Missions & 3 Challenge Mission), the player will need to make up 10 Daily Missions and 5 Challenge Missions in order to claim Chapter Rewards since mission records from Burning World will not be transferred after leaping.
  • Example 3: If a player has completed Chapter 1 and 2 in Burning World but has not claimed the chapter rewards before Leaping, the Sixth Star UI will show Chapter 1 and 2 progress as 'Incomplete' thus not allowing the player to claim the chapter rewards. Therefore, if a player completes Chapters 1 and 2 in Burning World, we strongly suggest claiming the chapter rewards immediately.

The MapleStory Sixth Star Showdown is a special event featuring our talented Bean Brigade members as they collaborate, compete, and take on the challenge missions throughout the Journey Toward the Sixth Star event! Five teams, each representing a different class, will compete against each other in a race to see which team is prepared to embrace the power of the 6th Job!

Each team is made up of five Bean Brigade members, working together to overcome the challenge missions in each chapter. Over the course of the Journey Toward the Sixth Star event, the teammates will work together to collect the six Star Pieces, resulting in harnessing the power of the Sixth Star!
