I love a good throwback to the formative years of console gaming when developers had to create whole worlds with just 56 colors, but I’m always worried my trip through time will be spoiled by a game too busy winking at the camera to say anything new. Prison City, a platformer that debuted last August to slightly less fanfare than Baldur's Gate 3, is almost one of those games, seemingly itching to set a new world record for references per minute. Dol Phin, one of the contacts Hal meets during his mission in Prison City,is able to be used as a rideable mount at the start of the Freeway level!


But how can you start with good ol’ Dol Phin?

Psst! Press X + A at the SAME TIME on Freeway’s loading screen!


Rather than starting out with a bike, Hal will ride on Dol Phin! And, like the normal bike, Hal will automatically get off Dol Phin after reaching the end of the actual freeway route. A shame he can’t tag along the rest of the way, but he certainly knows how to help a friend!

After defeating all of the Wardens from every security zone under the control of the Techno-Terrorists, Hal fights his way into the DCP Headquarters only to find...

CHIEF PAYNE waiting for him!

To congratulate Hal on all of his work, Chief Payne asks to have a ceremonial duel to commemorate his efforts over the evil Techno-Terrorists, while also testing Hal on everything he's learned. Take a look at what to expect from this fight!

[h3]Bullet Projectiles[/h3]
Armed with his officer’s pistol, The Chief will fire a couple shots at Hal from a kneeling position. He’ll also fire his gun when running, so be prepared to JUMP!


[h3]Sprint, Slide, & Teleport![/h3]
After firing his weapon, Chief Payne will sprint from one side of the room to the other, which will cause damage upon contact. He’ll also make use of his own personal teleporter and follow up with a damaging slide right after!


[h3]Energy Deflector[/h3]
At some points during the fight, The Chief will remain standing in an idle pose as he activates his Energy Deflector. With this on, any chakram projectiles launched at him will bounce back and around the room! Long story short: DO NOT attack him when this is active!


And with that, you’ll be able to defeat The Chief in this final confrontation!
