Dealer’s Life Legend Update #04 - Art and Collecting

Hello, Merchants!

We’re very proud to announce the release of the new Update #04!
Today is a monumental day in Pecunia! The Emperor has just declared that paintings are now tradable! A cultural revolution is underway, with master painters creating stunning portraits of legendary figures from ballads and epic tales. Geek alert: you might even recognize some familiar faces!



Here’s a complete list of the features that you’ll find in this update, which is out today!

[h3]New Features[/h3]
  • Item Pack: this time, we’ve added 138 new items, bringing the total number of in-game items to more than 820! And, rest assured, we’re far from done with them!
  • Item Catalogue: with the item collection growing rapidly, it’s time to introduce the brand-new Item Catalogue! Now, you can explore every single item you’ve encountered (and purchased) across all your games. You’ll find it in the "Extra" section in the main menu.
  • “New Item” Icon: along with the Item Catalogue, we’re also adding a new item status icon! This icon will notify you whenever you encounter an item for the first time. If you purchase it, the item will be permanently added to your collection in the Item Catalogue!
  • New Vehicle Variants: we’ve added an entire new set of vehicle variants, inspired by the mountain biome’s architecture. Now you can live in a moving cottage!

[h3]Quality of Life[/h3]
  • 💎Inventory details: we heard you and we introduced two small tabs in the upper left UI to show how many items or potions you have in your inventory! So handy!

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • 💎Item Rarity balance: we tweaked the distribution of Item Rarity in relation to item value, increasing the average item value by 25%! You’ll now see more valuable items across Pecunia!

Dealer’s Life Legend Update #03 - Quality Of Life and Fixes

Hello, Merchants!

We’re pleased to announce the release of the new Update #03! This time we bring some juicy improvements aimed to polish the game flow, the world balance and the UI. ːdl2_diamondː
This update is a bit smaller than usual because we are working on some big new content behind the scenes, we are a very small team but we still wanted to introduce some community-inspired changes in the meantime, we really hope you’ll enjoy them!

Here’s a list of the features that you’ll find in the latest update, which is out today!

[h3]Quality of Life[/h3]
  • Companion Hiring improved flow: the Diary’s Companions section now automatically opens when you hire a Companion to allow you to craft new potions right away!
  • World generation balance: we improved the game world generation algorithm in order to guarantee more special buildings variation between cities at the same distance to the Capital (row). Your choices now differ a lot more in terms of special buildings when you have to choose where to travel next, which allows for different strategies and play styles. Please note that this improvement can only take place with a new world generation, so it’s not applied in your current game but it will be applied starting from your next game.
  • 💎 Item’s rarity & condition colors: we added color coding for item rarity and item condition in order to let you recognize immediately these details.


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • 💎 Quest flow: you can now see Quest details in the Tavern even if you don’t have a Companion.
  • 💎 Quest success probability: we tweaked the Companion success dials in the Quest screen to better estimate Peril and Opportunity success rate. Now if you see a full green dial, you can be sure your Companion will succeed in every single check, without needing a potion! This also means that you should be really careful when you see yellow and red dials… or bring a lot of Potions for your Companion!
  • Steam Deck resolution: we disabled the possibility to choose a windowed resolution in the options menu when playing on Steam Deck. The game works simply great on Steam Deck, you should try it out!

Dealer’s Life Legend Update #02 - Tutorial Improvements & New Content!

It’s time for another update! We’ve been blown away by all the feedback from the community so far. We’ve been watching your streams, reading your comments, and chatting with you on our Discord. All of you have helped inform this next update!

Here are some of the features that you’ll find in the latest update, which is out today!

Features
  • Character Pack: We heard you! We’ve added even more ways to customise your character with new eye colour and outfit options when creating your merchant!
  • Item Pack: Variety is the spice of life, so we will continue to add new, weird, and exciting items that you can barter for as you make your way to the Capital! You’ll find over 100 in this newest update.
Quality of Life
  • 💎Tutorial Rework: The first tutorial has been completely revamped along with work on the other tutorials in the game. After the introduction, you’ll find new dialogue helping you get right to the market.
  • New ‘?’ options: A couple of new "?" buttons that help with onboarding and provide more useful information in the main screens of special buildings.
  • 💎Mount upgrade screen: We’ve revamped the vehicle upgrade screen in the carpenters to hopefully make it more usable and clear for players.
  • Character Creation Tweaks: We’ve added colour pickers for certain character creation elements which should help make the process cleaner.
  • Town Building Refresh Changes: A rebalance of the various refresh rates for buildings including the auction house and tavern for example. The goal here is to make them a little more frequent and varied, so not all buildings refresh on the same day.
Fixes
  • 💎 Mercenary Level Up: Every time you level up a Mercenary companion, they will gain an extra skill.

Dealer’s Life Legend Update #01 - Alchemic Tower & EA Roadmap!

What a first week it has been! We wanted to say another THANK YOU to everyone who has played, recommended, and made content about Dealer’s Life Legend! It’s truly humbling for the whole team and has filled us with joy!

We’ve been getting a lot of feedback here on Steam and our Discord, and we’re incredibly grateful for it! This isn’t our first rodeo launching a game into early access, so we know we have a big job ahead and we’re incredibly thankful to have a community so full of ideas.

Here are some features in the first content patch which has just dropped!

Features
  • Alchemic Tower: A new building that you may have spotted in the towns you visit is opening its doors! It will allow you to order potions without needing a companion to craft them.
  • Item Pack: We’re pleased to be adding so soon after the launch over 100 new items that you’ll be able to buy and sell with customers which take the total over 550 - including runic maps, glittered sandals and staffs of all kinds!
Fixes
  • 💎 Optimisation round #1: We fixed the 60fps lock that a Unity update had broken.
  • 💎 Chinese localization improvements: Minor fixes from our translator, let us know if you spot any other areas for improvements!
Quality of Life
  • 💎 Quest improvements: Quest Difficulty is now shown before starting a quest, and quest generation is now dependent on your progress, which should make them more balanced as you go through your playthrough.
  • 💎 Numpad Enter keybind: For all you numpad users, you can now use ‘Enter’ for keybinding.

[h2]Future Roadmap[/h2]

We also wanted to tease a few things we’re already working on based on your feedback that will be coming at a later (but not far away) date.

The Arena: Send your companions to the arena and have them battle and earn rewards!

City Events: Events will no longer only happen as you travel! They can pop up in towns and cities as well!

Investments: Currently, you can take out a loan at the bank, but we also plan to have investments available where you can store your money and watch it (hopefully) grow!

Customer & Item Packs: We’ll continue to add to the customer and character variation and provide brand-new items and gear to deal!

These will also accompany Steam Achievements, your Item Catalogue and Trophy Hall and a number of quality of life upgrades, like New Localisations (French, Russian and Italian) and New Difficulty Settings. We are always taking your feedback into account so there will be many of these quality of life updates based on what the community suggests!
