Patch v.0.1.229 is now live!

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p][/p][h3]Development Update: Patch Strategy[/h3][p][/p][p]As you may notice, instead of releasing rapid back-to-back fixes, we have started to collect multiple issues to resolve them in a single patch. This helps us ensure the stability of each update. [/p][p]However, this does not mean that game-breaking issues will be left waiting. There will be hot fixes for them, so most critical bugs will still be prioritized and deployed as quickly as possible.[/p][p][/p]
[p][c]PS. For today, we may deploy another patch.[/c][/p]
[p][/p][p]You may also notice that some issues persist. Our team is working hard to resolve them, but we need more data to reproduce certain bugs. We have noticed that some problems appear to be individual cases. We are currently investigating the causes so we can patch those accordingly as well.

Here are the current patch details; [/p][p][/p][h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • [p]We have identified the cause of the recoil issue, and our tests show it is now resolved. [/p][p][/p]
    [p][c]If you happen to encounter this bug again, please send us a report with a detailed description. This helps us track down the root cause much faster so we can implement a permanent fix.[/c][/p]

  • [p]"x/y player is ready" UI now accounts for leaving/joining players.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Toggle Crouch, Sprint, and Aim not loading from settings when switching maps.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the incorrect difficulty icon on Score Screen.[/p][p][/p]
[h2]QoL[/h2]
  • [p]Mission Selection Screen difficulty doesn't change while switching between tabs. [/p]
  • [p]Added "Leave Squad" button to Score screen in case people want to leave the lobby after the game, without waiting for the host.[/p]

Small Update / Patch v.0.1.226 is now live!

  • [p]Added specific animations for Datacore and Keycard interactions.[/p]
  • [p]General interaction animations are updated.[/p]
  • [p]TPS stimpack animations are updated.[/p]
  • [p]TPS grenade animations are updated.[/p]
  • [p]FPS vertical grip poses are updated[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Score Screen difficulty indicator.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the missing operation difficulty indicator on HUD.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the cam rotation for the leaning.[/p]
  • [p]Corrupted save files were causing the game to crash; it's fixed on our testers' side. But if it keeps happenning please inform us. [/p]

Hot Fix v.0.1.222 is Live!

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for the bug reports and feedback you have sent over. We won't be able to fit everything into this specific patch, but the team is still working on future updates to address remaining issues.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are the current fixes and changes for this patch:[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that caused the player's vertical aim to get locked at a certain degree.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed pistol bullets moving out of the magazine while the pistol was held.[/p]
  • [p]Corrected the gun positions while sprinting.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Capture Tool interaction inconsistencies.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where opening a door while using another ability caused the player to get stuck.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed image cropping for color blind options in the UI menu.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with one of the sequences in the "Too Late" Operation.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was causing Scopes not display rectangles.[/p]
  • [p]AI will no longer attack players during Operation End Cutscenes.[/p]
  • [p]Added new icons for the FR DLC equipment.[/p][p][/p]

This is a very important milestone for SinginGiant.[/p][p][/p][p]We will share a roadmap with you in February and build the game with frequent updates. The game is still playable, but that doesn't mean we won't fix them; we have simply shifted their priorities to high, medium, or low, and some are currently backlogged for later dates.[/p][p][/p][h2]Localizations[/h2][p]Localizations were completed by the team at 23 Studios. While they did the heavy lifting, the game continues to grow. As we introduce new content, our word count is expanding, and fresh lines are ready for translation. [/p][p][/p][p]We know that players often have the best eye for detail. We are opening this Crowdin project, so if you like to help refine existing texts and translate new additions. Contain: Genesis Playtest Branch & Details

[p]Hello Everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]The red-letter day is getting closer - we are releasing Contain’s most important update, Genesis. We’re going to dive a little deeper into the update in this post.
[/p][p]But first, here is some immediate cool news: To share the excitement, we have enabled a Playtest version so you can play the game today!
[/p][h2]How do you switch to the Playtest Branch? [/h2][p]All you have to do is right click on your game > select properties > select Betas > from the dropdown menu, select player-test-branch[/p][p] [/p][h3]The download size is around 25GB. Yes, we reduced that size around 50%-ish[/h3][p][/p][h2]Known Critical Issues [/h2][p][/p][p]We are primarily working on these issues to fix them.[/p]
  • [p]The game shouldn't let players join an active operation at all.[/p]
  • [p]Sometimes gun reload sounds don't trigger on clients in co-op gameplay.[/p]
  • [p]When a Stimpak is on a player's hand and attempts to ping a location, Stimpak collision prevents the ping from reaching the correct location. [/p][p][/p]

  • [p]For the other "Minor" issues, yes, there are plenty, but they are not that big. The game is still playable anyway, but that doesn't mean we are not going to fix them; we just shifted their priorities to medium/low, and some are backlogged.[/p]

[/p][h2]Now, let’s talk about Genesis.
[/h2][p]The most important part to understand is that we’ve rewritten the code. And that’s not a figure of speech: The whole code has been written from scratch! We don’t want to bore you with technical details, but we will have a blog post that dives a little deeper into it for those who are interested.
[/p][p]What this means is that every piece of the game code has been evaluated for improvement, whether it’s improving optimization or dealing with bugs of all sizes (seriously, we could have used a few Helldivers over here). This will also make development swifter for any future updates.  [/p][p]While some of the code was slightly improved, there were parts that had more work done. Top of the list: Enemy AI. To put it mildly, it wasn’t great in the initial release. While working on Genesis, we’ve completely changed how it works! Is it finally just as we want it? Probably not. And this is an area where we’d love to hear your feedback to make further tweaks - because with the new system, it’s much better to make those now!
[/p][p]Existing content being shinier is good. What’s also good is entirely new stuff, and we have some of that too! Not only do we have a few new secondary weapons, but we have also enabled customization for them. You can now customize your pistols with silencers, scopes, and rocket launchers.[/p][p]Maybe not the last one.
[/p][p]This whole kerfuffle allowed us to make the game much, much more stable. We’ve also improved lightning and map layouts. Our playtest results were already improved with the initial version of the new code, then we patched the game further for even better results.[/p][p]We do ask for your understanding for release: While we did external playtests, it’s never the same as releasing the game live. We are currently quite confident, but it’s always possible to face issues. We are committed to hearing from you and target those pesky bugs with ↑ → ↓ ↓ ↓[/p][p]
While our game graphics sometimes make people think we are a larger company, we are actually a pretty small team with very, very limited resources, but very, very unlimited dreams. [/p][p]
We ended up changing almost the entire team for various reasons, pushed ourselves and our resources to the limits but we are proud. Some would have released a couple of patches that wouldn’t have changed things as much or even abandon the game. Not us.[/p][p]
It was a massive undertaking, some would call it certifiable insane, but we think it was worth it. Contain is the apple of our eye, and we wanted to treat the game and our fans right.[/p][p][/p][p]We hope you give Contain a(nother) chance and share any issues you come across, so we can work on them as fast as we can.[/p][p][/p][p]Once the dust settles, we’ll share a roadmap of the upcoming features, too.[/p][p]
