To build your castle, you have two tools at your disposal: Build and Plan. Building lets you place a chosen object immediately, using available resources.

Planning allows you to place a "ghost" version of the object. You can build it later once you have the necessary resources—or… you can assign your followers to gather the resources and construct the planned structure for you.



After all, you’re a vampire lord — leave the tedious work to your servants. By placing individual segments like walls, floors, stairs, and roofs, you have complete freedom to shape your dream castle exactly the way you want.

If you’re looking for inspiration or want to build larger structures more quickly, you can use ready-made blueprints for crypts, halls, or even an entire tower. You can also start with a blueprint and then edit it freely to suit your vision.



Dreaming of a shimmering floor or walls adorned with ornaments? You can make it happen by customizing the materials of all structural elements. And of course, you can fill it all with workstations, coffins, and furniture worthy of your bloodline!

What are Rumours?

As you explore villages in your dual role, you’ll uncover a powerful mechanic: Rumours. These fragments of gossip, secrets, and speculation tell you more than idle chatter—they help you predict what role a villager will best fulfill once you grant them the Kiss of Eternity and turn them into a vampire.

Not all villagers are created equally in undeath. Some are better suited as spies, others as warriors or scholars. Rumours give you the insight to build a stronger vampiric court, tailored to your strategy.
Switching Roles: Aristocrat and Hunter

You can toggle between two modes:

• As the Hunter, you stalk prey and use brute force to achieve your goals.
  
• As the Aristocrat, you walk among the people and gather Rumours.
  

Only in Aristocrat mode can you collect these critical insights. Engage with villagers, listen to their stories, and extract the truths buried in small talk.

Why does it matter?

Your power grows not just through blood, but through careful selection and planning. The villagers you choose to elevate with the Kiss of Eternity will define the future of your domain. Choose wisely.

How you choose to rule as a vampire lord over Sangavia is down to the personal choices you make as Dragos. These choices can have consequences, do you satisfy your bloodlust from biting and feeding from the residents you swore to protect, or spare them and instead feed from animals? Regardless, your dominion will be built on the blood of either, it comes down to personal choices and how those choices then build your persona.

No Vampire game would be complete without an awe-inspiring Vampire castle, a dark domain to call your own, we’re creating a myriad of different elements and design options you can utilize to build from the foundations up, with everything from the colour and pattern of your wallpaper to the furniture and other furnishings to give it a truly unique look. All of which will go far in creating an imposing landmark in the landscape of Sangavia.

Vampires: Bloodlord Rising gives you the ability to utilize people under your control, these sub-servants can carry a different number of tasks when you assign them, for example gathering resources to build your impressive castle can lighten the workload. Gatherers, blacksmiths, defenders and Alchemists are all part of your inner circle ready to be assigned the tasks of which you command.

In traditional Vampire lore, Dracula was a count which is a European title of nobility, which gives me a degree of stature and position, in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising we have a similar hierarchy where power and respect are already foundations for you to build on and maintain.

Superstitions and legends become a reality in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising, today we’re revealing Vorago. This grotesque demonic looking half-man, half-creature has bat-like wings and is one of the more powerful characters in the game, his pale complexion, and foreboding stature made all the more apparent with his ability to levitate, looking down on those he has little respect for. You’ll discover more about the characters’ motives in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising as you play through the main campaign and how a pact among the Vampire clans known as the Tribunal of Blood defines his actions.

Vorago took on many different disruptive forms in the initial stages of exploratory character design. Designers at Mehuman Games took inspiration from traditional vampire folklore, as well as TV and film depictions in relation to the transformative nature of vampires and created their own hybrid human / creature design that you see below.
