Half-Life 2 is getting an Nvidia RTX Remix path tracing revamp

Looks like Half-life 2 Remastered could soon be a thing, as a modder is using Nvidia RTX Remix to add path tracing to Valve's classic FPS game. Yes, we're well aware that you'd rather play Half-Life 3, but the glow-up knocks years off of the 90s shooter's actual age, and it'll give your modern-day graphics card a challenge.

Half-Life 2 has a whole new spin-off campaign thanks to massive mod

If Valve isn't going to do Half-Life 3 (although we still believe; we'll always believe) it's over to fans of the stalwart Steam FPS game to keep the world and the story of Gordon Freeman going, and deliver a series of unofficial Half-Life 2 sequels. In 2022, we had Entropy Zero, an extremely professionally made and expansive mod which served as a spin-off to Valve's original 2004 opus. Now comes the follow up, an entirely new Half-Life 2 campaign that casts you as a Civil Protection officer during HL2's climactic revolt.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two's community-made VR mod arrives on Steam today

The Source VR Mod Team have been faithfully modding the Half-Life games into virtual reality - an excellent way to relive Valve's classic shooters. The team modded Half-Life 2 last year and followed it up with a mod for Half-Life 2: Episode One a couple of weeks ago. They’re now back with Half-Life 2: VR Mod - Episode Two, coming to Steam later today.
