New Hacking Tasks, Black Market Loot & Tutorial

Hello everyone!

This update is the penultimate update before the 1.0 release and includes a completely revamped tutorial, new hacking tasks and more Black Market loot.

Most of you probably won't need it anymore, but there are still some new players joining Midnight Heist who received an outdated tutorial after the major gameplay overhaul. We have completely redesigned the entire tutorial and made each individual task available in a training area.

To keep hacking fun, we've added 6 more mini-games that will require skill or logic.



At the same time, we have also made it our mission to add new Black Market items with this update. Each of these items comes with the usual three rarity levels and has its own value limits.

  • The daily challenge no longer overrides your progress, but increases it

[h3]Upcoming release of Midnight Heist[/h3]

This update is a little smaller than usual, as we are now focusing 100% on the release of Midnight Heist in October. The release will come with a major update, the contents of which you can see in our roadmap. We will announce the exact release date soon.

We will also need testers before the release and are grateful for any help in the run-up to the release to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. We will also be focusing heavily on marketing so that we can attract lots of new players who will decide the future of Midnight Heist.

Bugs fixed:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented anyone other than the host from completing the “Complete BM Mission” task
  • Fixed a bug that prevented a specific task from loading in the UI
  • Fixed a bug that prevented men's last names from loading into the organization mission for the wanted Information
  • Fixed a strange light glitch on the whiteboard
  • Fixed some UI issues

Operation Chimera, Leaderboard, Missions & More!

Our major content update 0.9 is finally ready and brings a completely new operation, a rework of the existing operation, a new organization mission system and a leaderboard.



[h3]Overhaul of the Operations[/h3]

Previously, we offered story content in the form of text that explained the events in Midnight City. With the new system, we have visual and audio changes that not only make the events in Midnight City more immersive, but also draw you completely into the story.



Both the first Operation Interceptio and the new Operation Chimera have been fully dubbed and feature video effects. We therefore strongly recommend that you revisit the first operation (even if you have already completed it).

[h3]Operation Chimera[/h3]

With the new Operation Chimera, we are offering 34 new missions that come with even more rewards and special skins—but with the big change that the events and stories in this operation are faster-paced, more thrilling, and more exciting.



In addition, we recommend that you read the background stories of the individual characters via the small icon in the operation next to the globe, if you haven't already done so. These contain important key elements that will make your journey through the operation even more exciting and amazing.



Besides the normal characters, Operation Chimera also features a narrator who explains and reads out important documents that you can collect and view. These contain important research data on the entities, for example, allowing you to delve deep into the events and feel like you are right there in the thick of the action.



[h3]Organization Missions[/h3]

Another major new feature is the new organization mission system. This offers randomly generated missions with randomly generated rewards of varying sizes and rarity levels. You can select one mission at a time or reroll the missions in exchange for data. The special feature here is that there are missions for the three organizations we know. After completing a mission, you level up the organization to receive permanent rewards:

  • Satoshi give you a cash bonus after every heist
  • Black Hats increase the value of Black Market items in your inventory
  • Shadow increases the amount of XP received


The maximum level for each organization is 50, so you can spend a lot of time upgrading your bonuses.

[h3]The Leaderboard[/h3]

In your hideout, right next to the whiteboard, you will find a screen that displays valuable data about all hackers and thieves in Midnight City. After each heist, the looted money is automatically scanned by the new tracking system and uploaded to the global network in Midnight City. On the screen, you can view the global or local (friends) leaderboard and compare yourself to hackers and thieves from all over Midnight City.

As already announced in our roadmap, the 1.0 release of Midnight Heist is coming soon. We still have version 0.9.5 to look forward to, with more content for existing systems, and the big 1.0 update, in which we have lots of new content in store for you, bringing a breath of fresh air to Midnight Heist. We will probably reset the leaderboard for the release, or at least design it so that there is a new leaderboard for the release (so that the old one is replaced but not deleted).

New Map & Security System

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the slight delay, we actually wanted to have uploaded the update back in June, but the new map and testing took a lot of time again. We also adjusted the new alarm system several times until we were happy with it - but in the end, it's your feedback that counts the most!

The new map is the hideout of the Crimsons, another criminal organization, which is a bunker-like building with many vertical movement options and an open design, unlike the previous bunker map with new freedom of movement.



[h3]Security System[/h3]
[hr][/hr]
We were thinking about making the cameras more important and came up with an idea: You can now be caught by the cameras!



As soon as you have been caught by a camera, you have a few seconds to disappear from the field of view again, otherwise you will be registered by the system. If you are caught once, the entire team receives a 25% penalty on the total loot.



To reduce this penalty to 10%, you can hack the server in the server room. A new optional task will also appear once you have been caught.

  • We have improved the save system so that there can hopefully no longer be corrupted save files.


The next update in August will include lots of story content and the new whiteboard mission system. Get ready for a big content update and keep giving us feedback on existing systems!
