Pest Control 101 w/ the Killbug
G’day, mate. Hope you’re ready for a fight.
Look, I might be the Killbug, but I’m feelin’ charitable today. You’re gonna need some top tips from the master herself if you wanna survive down here.

I’m not gonna just hand it all to ya though. It’s still a bug-eat-bug world, y’know?
1. Aerial Destruction
First up, your gun is gonna do heaps more damage in the air, so don’t waste time hanging out on the ground.

Unfortunately, I lost my wings in a certain exile-related event, (you might’ve heard about it), so double-jumping, knife-jumping and wall-running are my secret weapons. Get some height and rain death from above.
2. It’s Time to Slam Now
There’s one exception to my “get off the ground” rule: you’re allowed to head down there if you’re smashing into it with extreme force. A.K.A, the Ground Slam.

When you’re falling from a decent height, look down and melee when you’re almost at the ground. You’ll smash into the dirt and damage all the creepy crawlies around you.

If you’re feelin’ crazy, you can chain the slams together by jumping, shooting downwards to propel yourself back up, and slamming again. Just rinse and repeat, baby.

I can’t sit around spilling all my trade secrets while there’s still bugs to kill, so this is my final nugget of wisdom.
3. Centi-peeved
I know centipedes are gross, but it’s good to keep them around. They’re like walking health packs! Just make sure you don’t piss them off prematurely; they’ll be all over you like a rash. A disgusting, fast-moving, multi-legged rash.

Alright, I’ve gotta get back to doing what I do best: killin’ some bloody bugs.

Good luck out there, mate.

Cheers,

Your friendly neighbourhood Killbug

The winner has been crowned! — 'No Jumping' Community Challenge
Hey everyone!
Community Manager Liv here, letting you know that our first KILLBUG Community Challenge has come to an end!

ICYMI: we held a week-long competition in our Discord server where everyone was battling for the highest score without jumping. As usual, the Spunk community showed off their skillz and got some crazy no-jumping scores.
The winner was Meario, and you can check out their score of 46,550 on YouTube!
(They posted this run literally 1 minute before the competition ended. It was wild.)

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
SwagFisher84 had a veeery close second-place score of 46,475, and our current #1 player RetroRiggio deserves a moment of silence for the 58K run that they didn't get a chance to upload. (RIP)
Thanks for participating!
We had a lot of fun with this challenge, and I'm definitely keen to do more!

If you've got challenge suggestions, or just wanna participate in future KILLBUG shenanigans, join the server so you don't miss out.

Much Love,

The first KILLBUG Community Challenge! - No Jumping
Hey everyone! :)
Community Manager Liv here! I hope you're all having fun killing dem bugs.
Over in our Discord server, we're running the first ever KILLBUG Community Challenge: get the highest score you can without jumping!
(Anything you can do with melee is allowed, and it's probably easiest to just unbind your jump input. Alternatively, you can do your best to embody the spirit of an elephant, since they can't jump. Isn't that sad?)

Make sure you're recording your runs; if you end up with the top score submitted in the server, we'll need proof to validate your win.

We'd love to implement challenges like this in-game, but with a small team and limited resources, it's not really possible right now. Instead, I'll do my best to bring you fun competitions like this through our Discord!

(Feel free to send suggestions/feedback into the server as well, if you have any ideas.)

The Community Challenge will end on July 20th, 12pm AEST, which means you've got a week to submit your best jump-less scores.

See you in the server, friends! :)
