Demo Patch note Version: [ 1.0.17.0 ]



[h3]Update content[/h3]

1) Resetting user data:

  • Due to issues with Quests and the Meta Pass, we had to move to a new server, so we decided to reset user data.
  • 10 Beam Drops will be provided as compensation for resetting.
2) Changes based on feedback:

  • We slightly reduced the ball's bounce.
  • Modified the AI's logic to make their movements and judgment smarter.
  • Slightly reduced the release power just before a Power Swing is triggered.
3) Gameplay changes:

  • In Quick Match and Private Match, 60 seconds of practice time has been added after matching is complete and before the match starts.
    If all players are filled within 60 seconds, a new match will start immediately.

  • New customization items and stamps have been added. The tiers of some items have been changed.
    They can be obtained through beam drops in the demo.

  • We've added a new Ranking tab, where you can see your ranking in each category up to 50th place.

  • For your convenience, you can now view your quest list and friends list in-game via the ESC menu.

  • Added the ability to invite friends in Private Matches.

  • Beam points have been removed and replaced with MVP points.
    You can earn MVP points by scoring, saving, passing, etc. in Quick Matches, and you can use them to earn Beam Drops.
    You can earn up to three Beam Drops per week.

  • Added Match History and Replays categories in the Profile tab.

  • Added player Summary menu to view stats for other players, including yourself.

  • When you equip the Unbreakable Chain perk, the color and the effect of the chain change (yellow to purple).

  • Changed the goal effect at the rim when scoring: the effect is different in training and regular arenas.

1) In-game balancing to create multiple scoring ways
  • Slightly reduced the power of Back Dash.
  • Slightly increased the grab range.
  • Slightly reduced the air resistance applied to the ball.
  • Removed the air resistance applied to the character.
  • Slightly reduced basic nitro recovery rate.


2) Changes through feedback

  • The arrow pointing to the ball has been changed so that it does not appear when a ball is in sight.
  • Logic tweaked to allow the AI to be smarter in movement, shot, and pass decisions.
  • Added ball camera function.



  • The quick chat UI design has been improved.



  • After a team has scored, the push back is extended from the 3-point line to near the half court line.


3) Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where users were not properly visible in the private match waiting room.
  • Fixed a bug where team changes did not work when returning to the waiting room after playing a private match.

1) Balancing
  • When using Back Dash, it has been modified to move backward with more force than before.

  • The range of grabs has been slightly reduced.
  • Slightly increased repulsion when colliding with a ball while shielded.
  • Base chain length slightly reduced.

  • Slightly increased collision range between characters.
  • Increased AI logic and difficulty in Quick Match (Pro Bots). May be more difficult for beginners.


2) Gameplay changes
  • When releasing during a Swing Shot, it is difficult for beginners to get the timing right, so the Swing Shot Assist function has been added. It's now easier to time the release on Swing Shots.

  • An arrow has been added above the character's head to indicate the location of the ball when it is out of sight.

  • Characters are now affected by air resistance.


3) Bug fix

  • Fixed a bug that was causing players to load into different matches during private matches.

1) Metaball Demo Extension:
We have some great news for you! The Metaball demo, which was originally scheduled to end on the 17th of July, will now be extended indefinitely until the full release in the coming months. We want to give you plenty of time to explore and enjoy the demo and gain valuable insight into the final version of the game.

2) Metaball Marketing Campaign:
We've heard your requests about our marketing plans for Metaball, and we appreciate your enthusiasm. Once the demo is available on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms, we will officially launch our marketing campaign to attract as many players as possible for the big launch day. Stay tuned for exciting updates and announcements leading up to the launch.

3) What's next:
As previously mentioned, once all three demos are online, we will launch our full marketing campaign. However, it's important to note that all progress, items, and perks earned during the demos will be reset at the official launch. We want to ensure a level playing field for everyone as we embark on this new adventure with Metaball.

Also, we want to remind all of you that once the three demos are online, we made the difficult decision to close Swing Dunk forever.

This decision may disappoint some of you who have been loyal players since its early access launch on Steam in 2021. We truly appreciate your dedication, passion, and invaluable feedback throughout Swing Dunk's journey. Rest assured, your support has been the driving force behind our motivation to make an even better game.

1) Camera movement:

- Fixed a bug where the camera would rotate 360 degrees when tilting or steering in the air.


2) Gameplay changes:

- A Tilt method selection has been added to the options.
- A Swing Shot compensation function has been added to the options.


3) Bug fixes:

- Fixed a bug where some eyebrows and eyelashes were not saved properly when saving after randomly changing appearance in Appearance.
- Fixed a bug where your name or another user's name was displayed incorrectly when entering a Quick Match.
