HoT Fix | 2025-02-06

Hello Adventurers!

After yesterday's patch we got your feedback that some issues were remaining in the game, we did our best to fix the first batch of them ASAP!

- Fixed language selection in the game for Vietnamese and Tradition Chinese
- Demonic Craze was not properly triggering when falling below 100 HP
- Kugelblitz (Peak) Trait now properly adds movement speed to the ability
- Movement Speed of the Beast Huntress now scales properly with level ups

Greetings Adventurers!


We have an array of news for you today. First of all, we’d like to thank you for the feedback regarding our newest update. It helped us improve the experience, find issues and fix them.
Besides the already mentioned new update, we have a whole package of additional little things for you:

  • Free Update with new items, artifacts, balancing adjustments and QoL features
  • Supporter Pack DLC & Original Soundtrack in a bundle with the main game
  • New community items such as animated backgrounds and profile images in the Steam Points Shop
  • Adding Vietnamese and Traditional Chinese localization to the game


This update marks the beginning of the post-1.0 updates. We intend to bring more and bigger updates later this year. They will consist of two parts: the first being free updates that introduce smaller features and improvements, the second being bigger paid DLCs containing new maps, characters, abilities, and features. Stay tuned for more updates!

Available for everyone from now on!
  • Added the possibility to upgrade abilities a 3rd time (Sage with Sage Mark and Signets).
  • Added a total of 4 new item types.
  • 6 new artifacts to mix up your gameplay.
  • Balanced the game to enable more playstyles on higher torment levels.
  • QoL: DPS-meter, pickup range indicator, VSync option, more character stats.
  • A few dozen bug fixes.

Will contain the Supporter Pack DLC and the Original Sound Track:
  • The soundtrack contains 8 songs with a playtime of 49 minutes in total and will be updated with tracks that will be added in the future.
  • The Supporter Pack will contain only cosmetics and the Training Grounds area. It won’t give any actual advantage in the game.
  • Alternative character skins for each of the 1.0 characters.
  • Three additional HUD themes.
  • The Training Grounds area to test specific builds and setups.

HoT Experimental Update | 2025-01-21

[h2]Hello Adventurers![/h2]

In roughly 2-3 weeks we intend to release our first proper post-release update with the Supporter Pack and Original Soundtrack. The Store pages for both will be coming online within the next few days, but the accompanying free update will be available today on the “Experimental” branch.

If you are new here, we usually update our content on the Experimental branch early to gather some feedback and do readjustments before the release on the main branch. If you want to join the Experimental branch, right-click on Halls of Torment in your Steam library, select “Properties…”, go to “Betas”, and set the beta branch to “Experimental”.

HoT Preview | Update 01 & Supporter Pack

Hello Fellow Tormented Souls!


We hope you all are doing well so far. As for us, we’re happily working on things to come and making plans further down the road. As previously announced after the last update, we decided to take it a bit slower. The next update will take until early next year, probably late January or February, mostly because we’re going to take a little break during the festive season.

But still, we have some progress to share with you. This is a quick preview of things to come.
We’re currently working on two things in parallel. The first one is a smaller free update with some new items and artifacts. Balancing, bug fixes, and performance improvements are coming as well. The second part will be a paid DLC: the Supporter Pack. It will contain mostly visual changes to heroes and the in-game HUD, and also a small training area to test out some of your favorite builds in a controlled environment.

In 2025 we will keep working on Halls of Torment. Besides working on console support for Halls of Torment we’re also planning to work on content DLCs that will bring new stages, characters, and abilities. But more about that next year.


[h2]Free Update 01 [/h2]
Six new artifacts for additional challenges, including a smaller rebalancing of the Torment Levels.
Torment Levels will have a reduced increase in Damage and Movement Speed for enemies.
  • New Artifact: Enemies will gain Block Strength with each player level.
  • New Artifact: Reduce elemental chances but increase elemental damage.
  • New Artifact: Make enemies bigger, fewer of them spawn but they have more health.
  • New Artifact: Chance for each regular enemy to spawn as an enhanced version, dropping goodies.
  • New Artifact: Reduce the maximum number of abilities.
  • New Artifact: Reduce crit and effect chance with bigger area and range.


There are also four new items coming. One will be a bit special as it will not have a common version. You’ll only ever get the uncommon version of it.
  • Elemental Capacitor (Necklace): Apply Damage bonus to Burn, Spark and Frost.
  • Beast Master’s Hide (Body): Spawns beasts fighting for you. They despawn once they’ve taken too much damage.
  • Demonic Grasp (Footwear): When moving spawn summoned hands that grab enemies, XP, and items.
  • Ability Signet (Ring): Enables the wearer to upgrade an ability three times. (can’t be unequipped)


With the Ability Signet we also updated the Sage’s Mark that upon equipping it with the sage it allows the sage to use the 3rd upgrade of an ability on his main ability.

Other changes coming:
  • Many smaller technical performance improvements.
  • Changing the spawn pattern of waves to reduce lag spikes.
  • Additional information in the character stats about things like burn, spark and frost damage.
  • Shrine of Archeologists will now be teleported to the player like the well after defeating a lord.
  • An option to make the pickup range visible.
  • Vsync On/Off option to enable higher FPS.
  • Vault will spawn champions after 30 minutes.
  • Live DPS overlay.
  • Some additional things we’re still working on!



[h2]Supporter DLC[/h2]
  • We’ll add an alternative cosmetic skin for each character.
Those are purely visual and do not change the gameplay of characters.


  • Three HUD designs that can be selected via the settings.


  • A training area to test setups in a controlled environment.
