During the Game Awards in 2018, an expanded version of entirely serious office-life drama The Stanley Parable was announced with a release date of 2019. As that year drew to a close, the release was pushed back to 2020, "probably before summer, but it sort of depends on the specifics of how development goes". That didn't work out either. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is now "content complete" and will launch in early 2022. This news comes by way of developers Crows Crows Crows and a new trailer that pokes fun at themselves for the development delays thus far.

After more than three years of full time development, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is content complete and preparing for release on consoles and home computers! We need a little more time to finalise all of the paperwork and protocols involved in simultaneously releasing a game on many different platforms, but we can now confirm that the game will be released in Early 2022.

In The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, everything you remember has been recreated, yet it's different somehow. We've been here before, haven't we? Is Stanley still the same as he was back then? Or is it you who has changed?

As we approach our release window, we’ll be revealing launch platforms, a specific release date, more footage, trailers, teasers, screenshots and MORE, both in our emails and on our Discord. For now, if you can spare the 10 seconds to wishlist that would be really helpful for the game’s visibility and very much appreciated by the whole development team.

We’ve been keeping everything about this game tightly under wraps in order to preserve all the surprises and secrets in store for you and we can’t wait for you to see it all! Our team and our external collaborators have put a lot of great work into developing the game and we’re all really proud of what we’ve put together.

Crows Crows Crows, the folks working on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, have revived their ridiculous browser MMO replacement for the Game Developers Conference and it's just as surreal as before. Oh, is it your first time at CDC? Don't worry, it's just like every other conference. You walk around trying to make small talk with people you probably don't know and everything that comes out of your mouth sounds like a bad Mad Libs sheet.
