Hello new and returning dwarf idlers! It's 2025 and I hope everyone had an amazing holiday and start to the New Year! Progression Update 1.1 will focus on new type of progression system and more of a even better user-friendly experience. Dwarves Mining Idle is 50% off during the Idler Fest event.
Dwarves Mining Idle didn't have any progression information or information regarding what you had unlocked and in turn most players didn't know what to do or look at. Recipes were already unlocked and players kind of had no clue what recipes you had either besides going to an unlocked placeable (Furnace, etc).
We've had some feedback on our UI, seems most players still couldn't grasp it. Seeing how players still had issues with this, we've taken the liberty to remove all the buttons on the UI and put them all into one button (Game Menu) and one window using a tab system. Each one of these tabs are now locked and are unlocked with progression. This way you will KNOW what each tab represents and what it does after unlocking a new tab in the Game Menu. Previously, all the buttons were thrown at you without any type of unlock progression and I feel like this made it more difficult for players since they didn't want to go through and read what each button brought them too.

Patch Notes
Progression Update 1.1
- Slightly reworked the guide for the new update. Also made the guide more user-friendly, easier to read and follow. Added a new part to the guide that you can access by going to Menu -> Settings -> Guide.
- Added Dwarf King Perk tree. This is a special perk tree that allows you to spend Obsidian you obtain from completing challenges to upgrade specific perks for some long-term beneficial stats!
- Added Challenges. Completing a challenge will reward you with Obsidian and you can spend Obsidian in the new Dwarf King Perk tree.
- Added Daily Challenges. The daily timer shares with the store timer that way they both reset at the same time.
- Added over 250+ Challenges.
- Removed and cleaned up all buttons in the UI (Dwarves, Floors, etc) and replaced it with one Game Menu button that brings up every removed button using a tab system.
- Added new button: Game Menu. This button is more noticeable (it's bigger and the only button to bring up the Game Menu).
- Added new button artwork for the Game Menu window. These new buttons should be more noticeable on what the tab is.

- Archaeology: Unlock by cloning a Dwarf 5 times.
Ore Progression
Back when early development ores were locked to an area number. I wanted an idea on how to go about this without including area number and I decided to lock ore behind progression. This will allow you to know the ores in the game and what's available to you.
- Dirt: Unlocked by default.
- Stone: Unlocked by default.
- Sand: Mine 1000 Dirt and 500 Stone to unlock.
- Mud: Mine 250 Sand to unlock.
- Coal: Mine 50 Dirt and 25 Stone to unlock.
- Copper Ore: Mine 100 Coal to unlock.
- Gold Ore: Mine 250 Copper Ore to unlock.
- Diamond: Mine 100 Gold Ore to unlock.
- Uranium Ore: Mine 500 Diamond to unlock.
Enemy Progression
You now have to unlock new enemies by eliminating available enemies. Dumb Goblin and Angry Goblin drops more loot.
- Dumb Goblin: Slay 100 Slimes.
- Angry Goblin: Slay 1000 Slimes and 100 Dumb Goblins
Placeables Progression
Placeables are now locked to progression. They still have a cost to place down.
- Furnace: Mine 25 Copper Ore to unlock.
- Pump: Have a Dwarf dig up 500 Water and 100 Lava.
- Crusher: Smelt 100 Copper Ingots and 10 Gold Ingots.
- Bottler: Smelt 1000 Glass.
- Fusion: Crush 200 Crushed Coal, 100 Crushed Copper, 50 Crushed Gold and 12 Crushed Diamond.
- Stamper: Smelt 15000 Copper Ingots and 5000 Gold Ingots.
- The Surface placeables do not require progression to unlock.
