  • Feedback on this would be awesome. The old alert seemed to be wonky and less attractive.
  • Reworked the Alerts and added an Alert window. You can hide it if it's in the way and it'll show all alerts for 2 minutes before they disappear.
  • There's a new icon on the right under the top right buttons. This will hide or show the alert window. If it lights up red there's a new alert.

  • Added an input box and a Craft button to replace the Recipe button so you know what you're crafting and how many.
  • Clicking recipes show material cost information and how many of that recipe you're smelting, crushing, fusing, etc.

  • Selecting an item and dwarf will now highlight what you have selected. It was confusing at first because you didn't know what you had selected.
  • Item selection will not reset when clicking on an item button.

  • Dwarf selection is more obvious and more in-your-face.
  • Dwarf Unique ID will show so there's no confusion between same named Dwarves.
  • Added an input box to upgrade a Dwarf multiple times. Max 500 upgrades at once because it takes 1 second for every 100 upgrade ticks and 1000+ would be a bit much.

  • Selecting a dwarf will now highlight what Dwarf was selected.
  • Dwarf name and unique Id will now show.
  • The error messages will no longer show.
  • Selecting a floor, the To Floor drop down will change accordingly so you don't have to constantly click the floors back and forth. It's more dyanmic now and less wonky.

  • Fixed incorrect sprites showing for recipes. This happened after the last update. Had no effect on smelting and such, it just showed the wrong sprite.

  • Fixed input cost not decrementing for the other material types (slime and water). It was reducing only the first cost (e.g. Crushed Coal, etc).
  • Fixed an issue when the machine is first placed down, it could have the incorrect first cost type, leading to fuse twice wasting resources the second time.
  • Fixed Fusion machine offset when launch the game.

  • Fixed a potential issue that added more ore to your materials when selecting a different recipe from the current selected recipe.


What's Next?
  • Pipe and Pump System. The way that water and lava works with dwarf Digging mechanic is only temporary to keep player progression on-going.
  • More Store Additions - This includes more buy options and the new Dwarf pickaxes and helmets.
  • After the Pipe and Pump system we'll be waiting for the artist to create some new things for the next item on our roadmap, which will be the next major update and will take awhile. In the meantime we'll continue to listen to the community and make changes accordingly.

Regular Quality of Life Update v0.2.10


Firstly, I want to thank everybody for trying out our game. This has been an amazing experience for us and I cannot wait to bring more to the table. Please consider joining our Discord! We love talking to our community and we cannot get enough feedback and suggestions. You will also get sneak peeks and updates of our next projects!

This update is focused on huge quality of life for the Dwarven Book and implements a new dwarf mechanic dig. We have also listened to feedback and suggestions, adding what was asked from the community.

I wanted to do more, but the Dwarven Book took a very long time as it's such a huge part of the game. Next update the Placeable UI will get a quality of life update. That will include the Workbench, having to constantly click to upgrade Dwarves. Later, there will be an input box for how much you want to spend to upgrade Dwarves. Placeables UI lacks a lot of information that I want to update as well.

Patch Notes

  • You will now receive Area points for other behaviors besides just mining.
  • Killing 5 enemies will reward 1 area point.
  • Looting 5 items will reward 1 area point.
  • Digging will reward 1 area point once the timer reaches 0.

  • Added camera zoom.
  • Added holding Shift + W,A,S,D will make the camera move faster.

  • Added Thanksgiving as a new seasonal event. Previous season event tokens are rolled over to the next event.

  • Completely overhauled the Dwarven Book. It is a lot more user-friendly with more information given on everything.
  • The perk cost materials are more obvious to understand and you'll know what materials will unlock which perk.
  • Moved all the Entity, Area and Floor points to the top for easier visualization of all the points.
  • Materials and perks will show basic information until you click on them.
  • Materials will update in real time without refreshing all the materials, fixing the buttons being sometimes unclickable issue.
  • When clicking any Material or Perk, it will show more information and cost in the side panel.
  • When upgrading a multiplier that, for every 100 entity, area or floor points spent will automatically adjust for the cost increase so you won't have to do it manually.
  • Removed the Floor drop down box and replaced it with Floor buttons on the left side of the book and the floor buttons by F1 (Floor 1), F2 (Floor 2), etc.
  • Cost will now show your Current Floor Resets so you know how much you have to go for the require resets.

  • Slightly optimized resetting floors.
Fixes

    [h3]Dwarven Book[/h3]
  • Fixed incorrect sprite for sand and mud materials. It was showing Coal and Copper sprites instead.
  • Fixed a potential issue that caused materials being removed when you didn't have enough materials for the entire perk, but still had enough materials for a specific cost. I reworked how it checks now.

    [h3]Dwarf Stat Window[/h3]
  • Fixed Behavior options not updating when unlocking Combat. You were forced to restart the game to have the new options show.
    [h3]Dwarves Window[/h3]
  • Fixed Dwarves Window not re-clearing Dwarves. This was causing Dwarves to show up when a different floor was selected, and corrected itself when you selected a different floor. Not a major issue, but a confusing one if you were sure you had those Dwarves on a specific floor.
[h2]World Generation[/h2]
  • Fixed potential issues when resetting floors. Certain data wasn't being deleted or set properly.


What's Next?

As I mentioned before, there's more quality of life updates coming; placeables being the priority. Once that is settled I'll be working on the Pipes update and more polishing of Dwarves, animations, etc.

Dwarf Weekend News #4

Another weekend almost gone. Hope everybody is having a happy Sunday (and for those far out, Monday)! Today I'm going to update everyone on what's going on.

News

With the new upcoming changes, brings a new mechanic and more quality of life changes.

[h3]What has been done so far in this upcoming update?[/h3]
  • Camera Zoom.
  • Camera Speed. Shift + W,A,S,D will make the camera move faster.
  • Dwarf Loot Animations.
  • Dwarf Dig Mechanic.
  • Delete placeables. It will show a confirmation if you want to delete the placeable or not. You can access the delete button in Floors & Areas window or click on the placeable you want to destroy.
    Deleting a placeable that has materials in it, those materials will be returned.
  • Added a red X on the top right of placeable images allowing you to delete your placeable from Floors & Areas window.
  • Entirely new Dwarven Book that is more user-friendly.
  • Slightly optimized resetting floors.


[h2]New Dwarven Book Concept[/h2]
The new concept of the Dwarven Book is to give the player more information on any material, perk or cost of a perk. This will give basic information and when you click on the material or perk, it will show even more information.



[h2]Dig Mechanic[/h2]
Dwarves will play a dig animation and every 5 minutes a they will be able to obtain Water or Lava.



[h2]Destroy Placeables[/h2]
Destroying placeables is a highly recommended feature and it's finally coming up! When destroying a furnace or any major placeable you will get the resources back that's still inside the placeable.



What Now?

There's still quite a lot more to do. Placeables Quality of Life needs to be worked on, being the biggest part of the update besides the new Dwarven Book.

What's Next?

Once this update is pushed, I'm going to be working on polishing Dwarf animations. At the moment their animations play a bit too often and a more dynamic method would make it so much better.
