Dear friends,

I'm excited to share today that you will be able to play Magical Delicacy on July 16.

With the release just around the corner, I can't wait for everyone to experience the world I built and meet all the characters. Magical Delicacy has become a unique mix of Metroidvania-lite elements and its own take on cooking mechanics, wrapped in a magical story about Flora and the inhabitants of Grat.

From March 04. - 11. you can find Magical Delicacy amongst many other great Metroidvania games in the Metroidvania Fusion event:

Now, let's be real for a minute. Is Magical Delicacy a Metroidvania? Surely it can't be without any fighting or big boss encounters? An essential part for me in a Metroidvania is the way you explore and access new parts of the map, so I set out to combine this part of the genre with the gameplay of cooking and cozy games. Despite the lack of fighting, I'm sure you'll see many similarities in how you progress through its world when it comes out later this year.

You'll visit a densely packed town with people to meet and make delicious food for. Find new merchants to unlock new ways to cook or harvest ingredients throughout the nooks and crannies of the town. Meet mysterious travelers, adventurers, and forgotten legends. Unravel the island's secrets, climb bell towers and old ramparts, or delve through lost caves. Grow as a witch and acquire upgrades to your movement abilities to discover new routes and hard-to-reach places or open shortcuts that lead back to your store, where the cooking magic happens.

The demo is only a tiny glimpse into the platforming and exploration and focuses more on cooking and introducing the story, but try it yourself!
