Despite being a game full of chunky, blank-faced weirdos with awful hair that makes you swing at an enemy 20 times before you can land a single hit, Morrowind is an incredibly immersive game, sucking you into Vvardenfel and making you feel like part of its world. Modders are using AI to put voice acting in Morrowind, and I'm impressed and concerned all at once




Morrowind, Lee Harvey Oswald's favourite Elder Scrolls game and mine, has its rough edges. Its combat makes no sense, its characters all have one polygon they share between each other, and the people walk like no one taught them about knees. But I suspect the thing that turns most people away is all that reading. You could fill a stadium with the number of players that switched Morrowind off as soon as Sellus Gravius started spitting multiple voiceless paragraphs of instructions at them, but now modders have started using AI to fix it. I'm just not sure how I feel about the results...

Morrowind GOTY Edition leads Amazon Prime’s free game offerings for February


February might be the shortest month, but this year it’s jam-packed with free games for anyone with an Amazon Prime membership. There’s nine games up for keepsies over the course of the month, with The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition standing out at the front of the pack from February 2nd. Members will also get to claim the bathhouse management game Onsen Master, futuristic 3D runner Aerial_Knight's Never Yield, and chibi god-brawler Divine Knockout in the first half of the month.

Elder Scrolls' best game is free on Prime Gaming as Morrowind hits ESO

The absolute best of the Elder Scrolls series is about to become a free game though Amazon Prime Gaming, as the Bethesda and Microsoft Developer Direct confirms that new Morrowind quests and DLC are coming to ESO, alongside the sweeping Necrom update. If you're pacing Solitude, nibbling on a sweet roll, and waiting for the Elder Scrolls 6 release date, there's at least plenty of adventuring and slaying to get your sword into in the meantime.
