POSTAL 2 / Paradise Lost - Update 5024

SOOOOOO, we know there have been a major problem with POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost for a while regarding NPCs exploding rather than going into a ragdoll state for many users. We are sorry this took so long, as we have been spending every last waking minute to work on POSTAL 4, but we are finally fixing a few major issues with our most popular games! Windows only for now - we will update the other builds at a later date.

Fixed

- Exploding NPCs - NPCs should now correctly go into ragdolls on death.
- Gamma settings getting reset
- The game will now start full screen when starting from a fresh install
- FOV changing as you are playing the game (Rare bug that was affecting certain mods)
- Third-person view weapon disappearing
- Various small fixes to some of the underlying systems
- Various fixes to the MP code in order to improve the experience for those playing Nick's Co-op

P.S. We will be fixing some of the most prominent crashes that have come to our attention recently soon, just not yet… SORRY!

P.P.S GoG will be updated shortly too.

A Merry Christmas, to all our fans!

Ah, Christmas… I hope you will excuse the rushed nature of this little holiday message, as I am currently at a bus station, waiting for a bus to visit my relatives. I could have just wrote “Merry Christmas, everyone!” and left it at that, but I had some more sincere thoughts on the mind that I wanted to share.

It would be easy to just wish everyone a merry Christmas, and to say that we hope your holidays are filled with nothing but joy and love, but we know it doesn’t always work out that way. While some are finding it easy to cozy up with loved ones, with a big merry feast, others are alone and dealing with hardships. Christmas itself doesn’t magically make everything better for everyone, everywhere. A lot of us still end up having to deal with unfortunate circumstances. Maybe you find yourself alone this year. Maybe you are forced to work, or otherwise spend the evening away from your loved ones. Maybe some recent tragedy has left a painful scar. We know all too well how rough life can treat you, when you're supposed to be given some reprieve, at least once a year.

But ultimately we cannot expect circumstances to carve our happiness for us, can we? Happiness is not something that just happens; it is hard-fought and earned through striving for it, in spite all the gut-punches that life and circumstance may throw our way. It is self-made, through a stubborn desire to not allow things beyond our control to dictate how we should feel and how we should spend our days. We are the masters of our own fate, and we make our own joy when there is none to be found. That is the resilience of the human spirit.

So from the bottom of our hearts, to all our fans, friends, family and loved ones, to all the freaks, NEETs, creeps, loners and weirdos out there, we wish a very Merry Christmas and we sincerely hope that all of you manage to find the will and stubbornness to find some joy and happiness tonight!

New 5023 Update, for POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost

Phew, this has taken a while! As we just recently finished up our long promised update for POSTAL Redux, we then got to work on finishing up some other overdue promises for everyone’s favorite urination simulator POSTAL 2, and today we are proud to announce that those promises have come to pass. We have just rolled out the new 5023 update for POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost!

Owners of POSTAL 2 may have been frustrated for quite a while with a bug making them unable to light gasoline trails – well, no more! Throw those matches and watch that pink fluid erupt in a magnificent flame (just be cool about fire safety). But that’s not the only bug we’ve gone back and fixed – we’ve also patched up a bug that would make the user’s mouse cursor appear over the game after using the voting booth, and we’ve also finally lowered the volume of the Napalm Factory cutscene, so that your eardrums don’t get punished every time you do another playthrough. We’ve also added new language options for Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish, and we’ve rolled out the subtitle and voice over language options for Mac and Linux owners so that more and more people can have easy access to the fun of standing in line for that $5 milk. Meanwhile Paradise Lost is finally getting subtitle options of its own, in English, Chinese and Portuguese, in addition to a whole bunch of bugfixes and adjustments.

But hey, that’s just a small overview of some of the more notable changes and fixes. Feel free to scroll down and check out the full patch notes for more deets. We love you all, and we thank you for your patience with us!
