Look, I'm sorry, but Unbeatable has the best hook of any game ever. As the headline notes, this is a game where music is illegal, and you do crimes. It's a rhythm game, no less, which it couldn't really be anything else but that, right? I've been waiting for it for about four years now, since the Kickstarter launched, and unfortunately it's still not quite ready yet. However! As of today, the next best thing is here: a demo.

This demo has a pretty sizable chunk of the game taken from the middle of the story. We’re not going to say much about it here; it’s better to just see it for yourself! A lot of you are returning from having a shocking amount of hours in [white label] and for those of you I want to say:

The arcade mode has gotten a bit of a facelift too; we can’t wait to hear what you all think about it. All of the songs from [white label] are playable in this demo PLUS we’ll be rotating brand new ones from the final release in and out as time goes on; right now the rotationals are SLEEPING IN and FUTURE PEOPLE.



Obviously this still isn’t final; there are gonna be a ton of things we’re gonna change and fix and make better (there is absolutely a bug or two in there) between now and launch (so be nice to us). But we’re really, really proud of what this game is shaping up to be. Be sure to tell us what you think on our [discord] and on the Steam boards right here and also tell everyone you know to play the demo and that’s pretty much it oh actually wait no there’s one last thing. RIGHT NOW, it’s just in English; we’re patching in French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, AND Japanese sometime later in the month (and, consider this an announcement: those are the languages we’re targeting at first blush when the game comes out, with more to come in the future…).

We told you the marketing machine was getting started. We're back with another reveal - the full release of a new song for the game, one that some of you have been wanting to hear since we teased it a long time back!

Here's Sleeping In, written by game director RJ Lake, arranged by Clara and Vasily @ peak divide, and vocals by Rachel Lake! It's available now on Bandcamp and YouTube as a single release. Go go go!

You'll be able to play this song and more in the upcoming demo that we've yet to spill the deets on yet - don't worry, that's something we'll be more than happy to share more about soon, promise! And we really mean it. Seriously.

BEFORE WE ACTUALLY ANSWER THAT we need to be thanking you all yet again. The game has had a crazy reception both by our longtime fans (that's you guys here on Kickstarter and also those who have been with us even longer) and some new ones (I'd say hi to you but you aren't probably reading this. You're reading the version of this post we're putting elsewhere, and that version of this post doesn't have this parenthetical. Unless someone messed something up). The steam page has cleared 150k wishlists and it keeps moving like a train and we're so grateful we're going to explode.

After our big re-announcement (and also before that re-announcement) we've been slamming out several of the game’s chapters simultaneously. To answer that question, though...quite a bit is left! That's how it goes.



BUT DO NOT WORRY. We’ve gotten a lot of work done on getting this closer to being an actual honest to god video game that we can put on your television. Your wait has been Far Too Long, and things always feel like they move Far Too Slow (if 1: you want it faster and 2: you or someone you know wins the lottery then 3: talk to us) but games are work and this is work and we want this thing to work and that takes...effort

So what have we been efforting on? Well, there’s a lot shown in the trailer (and past material) that you haven’t seen yet and for today…it’ll continue to be that way!~

The marketing machine has begun. As these months go on you’ll be seeing more throughout the year as we approach release, with lots of fun news and reveals planned for our pre-launch period. We already tended to be shy about spamming updates on Kickstarter (or our blog) if they’re not major, because we believe in the Power Of The Reveal. On top of that, Playstack needs us to Be On Socials. So we are (notably check out the D-CELL Bluesky, Twitter & TikTok) and that's where any smaller tidbits from us will live! Also say hi please

Hey Gang,

First of all we just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the love and support since our reveal trailer over the Summer. The passion you've all shown for the game has blown us away and has only made us more excited to get this game into your hands in 2025!!

So as a little gift from us, and a fun way to celebrate Steam Rhythm Festival, we thought we'd drop a brand new song from the UNBEATABLE soundtrack - "Future People"
