Greetings, survivors!

Today, we have an important update about the demo of Permafrost. Since there were made a lot of improvements to the game, including your valuable feedback from the demo, the demo is no longer representing the game's current state. In order to prevent a misleading impression of the game, we will take down the demo by the end of April.

From last Fall, where the demo was released, to now, we received a lot of encouraging feedback and gained a lot of insight. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions you made during this period! If you still have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post them into the Steam Discussions, our Social Media channels and/or on our Discord, of course.

If you want a more recent look on Permafrost, you can still sign up for the upcoming playtest on the Steam store page. More details about that will follow.

Before we end today's news, we want to share some Statistics with you:

• Over 500,000 players have downloaded the demo.
  
• The daily active player count peaked at 15,000 players.
  
• The average play time is more than 1 hour.
  
• Around 39% of you killed an animal for the first time.
  
• Only 21% of you befriended a dog -
• sad whimper
• 
  
• 19% looted at least 20 Containers - you don't want loot, huh?
  
• While 15% spent more than 2 minutes in a cold zone, only 3% managed to catch a rabbit.
  
• And only 0,4% of all players were able to kill a bear while using a knife.

In Permafrost, survival hinges on how well you manage your resources. Every scrap you gather has value, whether for crafting essential tools, repairing gear, or building shelters to protect against the harsh cold.
It goes without saying that natural resources such as trees are essential for building and therefore crafting stone axes early on are crucial to your loadout.

Key resources like food and fuel are vital— Hunting elusive prey such as deer with a rifle or bow can help sustain you, and scavenging the ruins of civilization for supplies to sustain your character can also provide materials and resources that can go a long way in helping you progress.

Rarer materials, such as Moonrock, unlock advanced crafting opportunities, but this is an extremely rare resource to come by. Resources are key to your survival and how you manage them, you’ll learn to prioritize your limited inventory space and plan what resources are the most vital to you.

We have good news for our community in China: The Permafrost demo is now available in Chinese! This means that even more players can immerse themselves in the icy world of the game and experience the challenges of the frozen apocalypse.
