🩹 New Changelog v0.4.7 🏗️

Hello survivors!!!

The time has arrived, v0.4.7 is officially live & just in time for our weekend sale! 😀

[h2]Highlights[/h2]
· Wolves, Deer, & Bears OH MY!
· AI Reworked (Added AR Scavs & Sniper Scavs)
· Massive FPS Optimizations

[h2]Base Building[/h2]
· Zombies can no longer spawn within your owned territory.
· Grenades cannot damage through build parts.
· Added blue color to represent the owned territory.
· Increased Ownership box territory (2.5x bigger).
· Added craftable Ownership Tether to expand territory.
· Foundations can now snap above or below other foundations.

[h2]Placeable Build Parts[/h2]
· Rad Shower FIXED!
· Crafting Bench now drops items out the front if there’s not enough room in the workspace.
· Added large exterior wood gate & wood wall.
· Added repair bench.
· Added locker storage container.

[h2]Loot Tables[/h2]
· New items added.
· Fixed an issue that caused every loot point to have loot after a certain period. Loot was spawning 90% of the time now it only spawns 20% of the time.
· Made many military crate piles lootable.
· Increased bunker loot.
· Some harvestable/craftables were removed from the spawn list.

[h2]Sound Effects[/h2]
· Metal door sound effect.
· Build part upgrade sound effects.
· Lowered out of stamina sound.
· Added rip sound.
· Added owner & clear owner sound.
· Significant increase in the sound of gunshots.
· Notification + Sound when the weapon is broken.
· Drop sound when out of inventory space & item is sent to the floor.
· Lock & unlock sounds to code lock & keylock.

[h2]Map Fixes & Optimizations[/h2]
· Fixed all reported stuck spots! Elleh.
· Added Discord giveaway winners dirt road.
· Mountain collision fixes.
· Many more merged meshes.
· Lighthouse loot.
· More drink zone water sources.
· Most lootable containers now open and close.
· Added sketchy fog vibes.
· The Culling (rip 2017-2018).

[h2]Items[/h2]
· Added new items (Plasti, Tuf, Tether, etc).
· All weapons can use repair kits & the repair bench.
· Significant increase in bullet travel distance.
· Weapons no longer disappear when 0 durability.
· Added option to rip/break clothing.
· Armor values now noticeably reduce damage.
· Readjusted trader buy & sell values.
· Locked quest item locations stay unlocked for 60 seconds. Just in case you close it accidentally.

Upcoming February Sale & Beta Branch Update OUT NOW!

This last month has been a grind. We are excited to finally announce the first push to the public beta branch with our newest changes. With the release of this massive update, there will also be a 22% weekend sale from February 9th - February 12th.

For those of you interested in the beta branch testing process, it’s simple!

  • Navigate to the testing-opt-in channel
  • Click the green Beta-tester button
  • This will grant you access to the beta-branch channel


Once you are in this channel, one of us will have information laid out on how to access the beta branch through Steam. Don’t worry, it’s simple and easy. Can’t wait to catch you all out there survivors! 😀

[h2]February Update[/h2]

As mentioned in the previous announcement, this update was focused on PvE & creating more of a threat from the world of ZSGO itself.

PvE elements weren't the only ones receiving love, however! We fine-tuned some base security features based on the feedback provided by y’all, reworked some other existing systems, and added some huge changes that provide a more optimized gameplay experience!

February Update Announcement

Howdy again survivors!

First off, thank you for the tremendous support from everyone in the community and any new Bambi’s out there. We greatly appreciate our Patreon Supporters, Discord Subscribers, and everyone who has provided feedback. Y’all are helping take ZSGO to the next level!

We’re a little over halfway through January (30 days since our early-access release) and we have some news for you about upcoming changes for ZSGO. We will be discussing our new monthly update schedule, beta testing branch, the February update, and some sneak peeks of what’s next!

[h3]Monthly Update Schedule[/h3]
Ever since last year's Steam Next Fest, we’ve been pushing updates and new builds out around every 2-3 weeks. The new plan is to have an update at the start of every month. This gives us some more time to test new features in the upcoming update as well as provide a fixed schedule for when you can expect new content.


[h3]Beta Branch[/h3]
With the next update, we are going to test a new approach to updates. A week before the update is scheduled for release, those who opted into the beta branch will be able to play the update before it’s available to the public. If you’re hungry for more updates sooner, you can enlist in our beta branch on the ZSGO Discord. Being a part of this group will provide an early look into the next update & help us discover any game-breaking bugs. The game grows larger and larger with every update, so our small team of four appreciates all the help we get from this unbelievable community! 😀

Remember, we are testing this new system and there may be tweaks in the future.


[h3]February Update[/h3]
This update will be the first on the new update schedule. This means that the Beta Branch testing will open the last week of January and the public update at the start of February! This update is more focused on improving PvE aspects of ZSGO. You can expect some new furry animals & bandit scavengers running around the world as well as some features not mentioned in this post. We will post the patch notes for this update alongside its release.

🩹 New Changelog v0.4.6 🏗️

The time has come survivors!

Since launch, we have received FAR more feedback than we could have hoped for. Thanks to everyone’s reports and suggestions, we were able to key in on high-priority issues and get them fixed up. Weighed next to our internal list, from parsing player feedback and bug reports we felt that some of the biggest issues to address for this fix were Server Stability, Base Raiding/Ownership mechanics, and QOL bug fixes like removing the frustrating gun stutter bug. Of course, there is far more to be done and it wouldn’t be possible without y’alls support!

Here are the patch notes for version v0.4.6!

HIGHLIGHTS (TLDR)

– Removed permanent winter & holiday content, plans for dynamic season choices are in the works!

– Fixed a bug that would cause the player’s hands to spasm out & stutter while holding a gun that was related to leaning.

– Only the owner can spawn on their own sleeping bag. If you try & set your spawn on someone else’s it gives you a warning.

– Weapons should now require fewer repair kits to fix, subject to further balancing.

– Fixed a couple of issues that would cause server crashes under certain conditions related to players dying, which should greatly increase server stability

BUILD PART REWORK

– Adjusted raiding mechanics to allow for more specific control of raiding methods. Limited Damage to build parts greatly, now only certain tools can damage low tiers & metal tier can only be damaged by explosives.

– Increased health on all base-building parts to make for sturdier bases!

– Weapon damage is now determined not just by the weapon configuration but the ammo configuration as well, allowing more variety & customization across different weapons. Gun damage was also essentially rebalanced here as well to a certain degree. Much more to come here.

– Adjusted explosive damage & radius to build parts.

– Fixed floating door locks.

– Adjusted the damage guns do to different base materials.

– Barbwire no longer destroys itself or other build parts.

The lamp doesn’t poof when you pick it up anymore.

OWNERSHIP BOX

– Ownership Box can now overlap if placed by the same owner.

– Increased the Ownership Box ownership zone.

– Zombies should no longer spawn in the ownership radius of the Ownership Box or on any base building parts

– If you take over an Ownership Box it will no longer convert ownership on other plot poles, which would allow for players to take over full bases after claiming ownership on a single box previously.

– Beds are unaffected by Ownership Boxes for a few design reasons, the biggest one being that respawning on beds is now tied to ownership as well.

ADDED CONTENT

– Added the Chem Lab crafting table.

– Introduced Metal Radio & Jimi Radio to the Main Level.

– Added a nicer path up the mountain.

– Added buildings to the in-game map.

– Added charcoal as fuel type for Taint Transformer.

– Adjusted 106.9 Judgement Day Radio to include the Discord shoutout winners & added a new song.

– Added many new items. (Including makeshift rad med, a special shower, antibiotics & more)

FOR SERVER OWNERS/ DEDICATED SERVERS

– Implemented an Admin Menu Toolset with many features including:

> Banning, Whitelist, Limit PVP, Item spawning, Teleportation, etc.

– Added a server-side kill log that records all PVP kills & their participants.

– Added more infrastructure for loading server settings dynamically from external files into game instances, more on this soon.

OTHER REPORTED ISSUES

– All lootable containers are now highlighted when you try to loot them.

– Fixed all reported spots where survivors were getting stuck.

– Fixed rock collisions on several rocks that were impassible.

– Refined loot tables (reduced spawn chance %’s, added new & existing items to spawn list).

– Refined the bunkers (fixed the doors, made the entrance bigger, adjusted loot, more custom textured signs).

– The explosive crafting recipe now returns the correct item.

– Added the Chainlink trader items survivors reported.

OTHER FIXES

– Significantly increased distance of explosion sounds.

– Removed the ability to shoot from within safe zones which would still damage players outside of the safe radius.

– Fixed the removal of the buzzing flies sound that would stay in the level after the removal of dead bodies.

– Fixed a major cause of clients sometimes seeing TPosed characters in place of their dead bodies, this should be gone or at least happen significantly less.

FOR NEW PLAYERS

– Tutorial Tweaks, cleaned up some bug reports.

– Added a Map image to the pause menu in the demo.

– Updated various aspects of Demo Land to include some of the newer content.
