Some time ago, we announced that we’re working on the sequel to Forgive Me Father, and yes, we are as excited as you! It’s finally time for the first DevLog where we would like to share some information about the story and atmosphere of Forgive Me Father 2. So, let’s talk!


[h3]What’s the story about?[/h3]

This time we decided to follow the plot of only one character to create a more coherent experience. Going with the priest from the first installment was an obvious choice for us, as he perfectly fits the theme of the game, and we feel like his story isn’t over yet.

In Forgive Me Father 2, players will once again dive into a malevolent world where madness is always just a blink of an eye away. During the journey into a dark world inspired by the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft, they will face dangerous monstrosities straight from the darkest depths of insanity and travel to places beyond comprehension. There is still an ancient evil to defeat and more secrets to unravel, so better get ready!



[h3]When Lovecraftian mythos meet action-packed FPS[/h3]

The atmosphere in games is a combination of various elements like artwork, level design, music, story, and many, many others. When it comes to Forgive Me Father, one feature definitely grabs the eye – its dark graphic design, where every frame looks like a comic book panel. Forgive Me Father’s world is created by hand with the utmost attention to detail, from environmental elements to weapons' and enemies' sprites.

We want the elements mentioned above to be an integral part of the world, but also to capture Lovecraft's essence. Players will have a chance to face a variety of deadly opponents, not only in their more human-ish forms but also in their twisted and terrifying evolutions. Forgive Me Father also brings a vast arsenal of powerful weapons. From classic, more “down-to-earth” guns to deadly tools of destruction covered by tentacles and powered by mysterious forces.

Forgive Me Father 2 is still, at its core, a fast-paced shooter, but it also creates room for exploration and a dreadful atmosphere of madness and hopelessness. Finding just the right balance between action and elements of horror is challenging, but we believe that connecting these two worlds is one of the core tenets of making Forgive Me Father 2 fun.

Another aspect influencing the game's pace is the fact that we’re adding weapon reload mechanic and a more tactical approach to positioning, as well as fighting enemies in general. It's worth thinking twice before charging into battle without a plan because it often means only one thing, which is certain death.



In short, Forgive Me Father 2 is an unusual mix of action-packed FPS and Lovecraftian horror, with the best features both worlds have to offer. Run&gun action with guts flying everywhere is combined with elements of exploration, a bit of suspense, and A LOT of madness. All of this is accompanied by atmospheric ambient and headbanging action music to create an unforgettable experience.

Players will be driven to the brink of insanity as they take on hordes of deranged cultists and diverse, eldritch enemies using a vast and varied arsenal of deadly weapons - each featuring powerful variations designed to cause absolute mayhem and wreak utter destruction. A freshly re-imagined and expanded madness system ratchets up the action even further, bestowing unimaginable power to those who choose to fully embrace insanity.

Forgive Me Father 2 elevates the unique and distinctive, dark comic-like visuals of the original game with improved sprites and models. Players will behold satisfyingly juicy blood effects and bear witness to eye-popping animated gibs that fly in all directions, as unimaginable ancient evils are torn asunder.
