Letters from the Front 1


[h3]Dear Ozzie,[/h3]
Thank you for your correspondence, I am glad to hear everyone is doing well back home. So the factories have started working on new engines? That is great to hear, hopefully those beasts will help with our performance on the front.

So far all is quiet out here, our general has positioned us in a small mountain pass. There is an abandoned village nearby. We found some good supplies they had left behind, the bicycles are in decent shape and make moving around much easier. Don’t use up any gas either!

Yesterday we went on a scouting mission in the mountains. I managed to take a picture of the valley next to our camp. It sure is beautiful here. Staying so far from the active fronts, where we can’t even hear the explosions anymore, it almost makes you forget there is a war going on.

Tomorrow we will go on another scouting mission just north of the town, let’s hope the Germans don’t show up here.

Small update regarding our Kickstarter Campaign.

Heroes and Generals 2 Kickstarter is now Live!


[h3]CALLING ALL HEROES AND GENERALS![/h3]
Today marks the day that our Kickstarter Campaign for Heroes and Generals 2: The Next War goes live! TLM Games seeks to raise $2MM USD (down from our previous raise of $3MM based on community feedback and budget adjustments) for the next chapter of the franchise and make the big leap into Unreal Engine 5!

After 15 years of development and 20MM registered players, it’s now time to take everything we have learned and evolve the franchise into something truly remarkable.

Heroes and Generals 2 will feature the mechanics you know and love from the unique blend of FPS and Strategy while massively overhauling and reimagining mechanics, gameplay and everything in-between that the previous game had to offer.



  • Will be built on Unreal Engine 5
  • Reworked strategy game layer: The true cornerstone of Heroes and generals 2, featuring new mechanics and a resource- and supply system.
  • Dynamic integration of Strategy and Shooter elements to create one persistent war experience.
  • Create war-stories by achieving success in battle. Important events such as taking over multiple key cities will be displayed to all players.
  • The dynamic environment is influenced by player actions and key war events such as map layout, damaged architecture, bomb craters etc.
  • With the goal of every map feeling unique, we will be able to create a large number of maps and handcrafted key locations such as Berlin
  • More game modes to suit multiple play-styles, PvP, Coop PvE – all contributing to the ongoing persistent war
  • Better options for friends and clans of various sizes to team up.
  • Optimized communication for giving orders, requesting reinforcements, etc
  • No more text chat required and reduction of language barriers.
  • New Challenges and Achievements.
  • Two main factions: Axis and the Allies.
  • The monetization system will be transparent and fair with a focus on aspects that don’t have an impact on gameplay. (We hear you!)
  • A new resource- and supply system will make the “war for attrition” much more interesting and influenced by player actions. No more waiting time to deploy your units.
  • The progression system will be completely reworked. (A little bit of grinding is fine, but we don’t want it to get in the way of the fun!)
  • All progress is now based on your account and not individual soldiers. If you decide to create multiple soldiers you no longer have to start from scratch.
  • New and improved spawn-system made to fit our brand new maps.
  • Easier and quicker access to core game components for new players.
  • Offer meaningful and exciting long-term goals for veterans through an always expanding pool of interesting content, ways to influence the war and achievements

MID-SEASON UPDATE: PREVIOUS BATTLE PASSES

Great news from the front. All battle passes old and new have opened up and are available for you to progress where you last left off. If you previously owned one or more just switch to your preferred battle pass... if you haven't purchased now it the time.

As the season progresses the weather is changing and you'll begin seeing seasonal items delisted and thawing of our frozen rivers.

Time is of the essence. Get out there and play!

HEROES & GENERALS FRANCHISE IS STARTING FRESH AND HEADING TO KICKSTARTER

We are EXCITED to announce the launch of the Heroes & Generals 2: The Next War Kickstarter campaign. TLM Games seeks to raise $3MM USD that will move the franchise onto the Unreal Engine and provide a first playable version of the game to all pledge donors. We are simultaneously in the early process of sunsetting all servers for the current Heroes & Generals WWII video game.

After 15 years of development and 8 years of deployment Heroes and Generals: World War II will finally make the move to Unreal. A move that so many of our community members have asked for!.

It is hard to believe it’s been almost 15 years since Reto Moto started development on this project that has seen over 36MM battles, 1,300 wars fought, and over 20 million heroes and generals signing up to play. We can’t thank you enough for your past support and hope it carries on via our Kickstarter campaign for Heroes & Generals 2: The Next War.

Since the merger with TLM Partners, Inc. the core team from Reto Moto have continued their arduous work on bringing HnG to where it is today. The game added the battle pass, more tutorials, and never ending amounts of digital content. The only way to continue to meet the demands of the HnG community is to make the transition onto the Unreal Engine.

[h2]HERE IS WHAT WILL BE HAPPENING NEXT:[/h2]
  • The next mid-season update will be the final one for Heroes & Generals. The update will give players the ability to unlock previous battle pass seasons.
  • The Heroes & Generals team is determining the exact shut down date for Heroes & Generals: WWII, but expectations are within 6 months from this announcement.
  • As we begin the process of sunsetting the game, the current team will be simultaneously honing their skills in UE5 – working towards a completely new game and playable prototype (MVP) of Heroes & Generals 2: The Next War.
  • As soon as the mid-season update is released and stable, the entire team is shifting 100% focus towards the development of a playable version of Heroes & Generals 2: The Next War on UE5.
  • Kickstarter campaign to launch February 13, 2023 to support early development of Heroes & Generals 2: The Next War where gamers will have 60 days to make their pledges.
