2nd Pre-Alpha Playtest Coming in March 8, 2024!

We were hoping some of you might uncover this date on your own, but maybe our creative team made the little Threat Index Puzzle a little too esoteric to solve. Anyway, that doesn’t affect how excited to announce our next playtest and the additions to our media.

In case you didn’t get a chance to play during our November playtest or see the follow-on content associated with it, you can catch up here: mythicprotocol.com/doggy-daycare

We want to take another chance to say a big thank you to everyone who participated in the playtest and to everyone else who is hoping to get the chance to jump into the action.
So what’s new? What are we testing? And where will the story unfold from here?

New Operatives Join the Fight
Joining Starling are two new Operative: Hertz and Spraybot.

Hertz will be replacing Codename: Atlas as the shotgun-wielding tanky operative for those of you looking to get up close and personal with mythics.

Spraybot on the other hand is a lightweight support operative that relies on turrets and positioning to keep the fighting going.
A New Mythic Threat
The keen-eyed puzzle solvers among you might have already guessed that our new Mythic threat comes from the aptly named: Shade. These ghostly creatures can swarm and overwhelm even the most well-coordinated operatives, so keep an eye out.
Loot? We have more.
We’re also slowly scaling up the armory banks across the Mythic Protocol and we have 10 new weapons being added to various mission pools.
Narrative Implementation & Impact
Finally, we’re also implementing a short three-mission narrative arc that will trace and deal specifically with the new threat posed by Shades around the world. In this globe-trotting mission sequence, your actions – success or failure will irrevocably impact the world and operatives of the Mythic Protocol.

We’ll share more details as we go, but mark your calendars, share this post, and wishlist our game to stay in the loop.

Cheers,

Dev Blog #4 | Goodbye 2023 👋 Welcome 2024!
Hi everyone, Keeks here!
We hope it’s not too late to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR and express our hope that 2024 has kicked off well for each of you.

For those who have participated in November 2023 playtest, we want to thank 5000 of you who participated, climbed the leaderboard, and spent more than 20 hours in our 3-hour build game.

We're grateful for your support and it motivates us to work harder on the game until its final release.

Here is the recap of our playtest, in the most visual way possible!

After the holiday, the team has been back in the office and has been working on our next playtest with new content. We learned a lot from your feedback so it will take us time to bring you an improved version of our first playtest.

We've also heard that you want to know more about our lore about our creatures and operatives in Riftstorm, we might show that to you very very soon (wink).

Thanks all, and talk to you soon

Dev Blog #3 | Post Playtest Debrief

Hi everyone, Keeks here!

It’s been exactly a week since we closed our pre-alpha playtest, and we finally have had time to personally debrief our experience during this pivotal moment of our journey.

The past month has been an endless period of learning, and we’ve been reflecting on what we do and how to improve.

We are surprised by the sheer amount of support in this early stage of our game, and we would like to share some of our thoughts with all of you.

Thank You! – Pre-Alpha Playtest Officially Ended

Hi everyone, Keeks here!

As of 00:00 on 22nd November, our first pre-alpha playtest event is over, and the team and I wanted to express our gratitude for your participation, feedback, and passion over the last week.

For Ken, Dodo, and I, this was our first experience in being behind the scenes of a game playtest and everything about the last week has been a thrill.

It has been quite a sleepless night for all of us (and, of course, the time zone differences make it challenging for us to be active for those around the world) to ensure that this game can be experienced by as many people as possible.

The team and I were glad that this last week we got a chance to validate our gameplay loop, gather much-needed feedback, and best of all: interact with many of you - with that in mind, we can only say: Thank you!

Over the next few days and weeks, we’ll huddle up to review your notes, thoughts, and ideas while the community team and I catch up on some much-needed sleep.

Oh, if you haven’t already completed our play-test survey you can do so here:

We hope you stick around for more updates, and thanks again for playing.

Cheers,

Keeks
