Spell Disk 0.4.3c hotfix

  • Fixed a bug where the mouse was registering menu input an additional time on certain conditions. On certain mouse configurations, the left mouse click was registering input more times than necessary, resulting in multiple attempts to load a scene. This sometimes caused the player to be stuck on the loading screen while the player was active behind the scenes, and possibly caused a lot of other issues behind the scenes. Thank you for your reports and feedback.
  • Elemental affliction disks now work with the player's elemental affliction from enemies and self-affliction.
  • Reworked the worm caller to be more efficient by making it a survivor-mode type enemy. They will no longer show an HP bar and elemental icons, and will not perform pathfinding calculations; they will simply always move toward the player. Additionally, the minions will now degenerate their health over time to reduce the chance of crashing the game due to infinite stacking. Due to this change, the game can handle significantly a lot more minions at once.

Spell Disk 0.4.3b hotfix

  • Reverted normal mouse behavior to no longer be constrained within the window. Additionally, we have added an option in the settings menu to enable or disable mouse lock mode.
  • We have removed the minimum resolution requirement from the resolution settings. Initially, we had set a minimum resolution in the settings due to certain graphic issues and blurriness at lower resolutions. However, recognizing that some players prefer lower resolutions, we have removed this limit. Your screen's lowest possible resolution will now be included in the list of available options.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when you skipped the elevator rise sequence in the Root Chamber or Tree Branch Chamber. If you exited to the menu while the player was rising from the elevator and walking toward the center of the room, the game would throw an error. The result was the camera not focusing on the player, among many others. Thank you for your report and feedback.

Spell Disk 0.4.3a hotfix

  • Adjusted default mouse behavior. While the application is focused, mouse movement will remain inside the game window. This change aims to reduce frustration for mouse players when playing in windowed mode, without affecting those playing in fullscreen.
  • Fixed the bug where you could go over walls using Hammer's charge attack. Also, the hammer charge attack indicator will no longer go through walls.
  • Fixed the bug where you would get soft-locked on the game over screen. Attempting to click the menu while the screen was transitioning would lock the screen under certain conditions. This issue was often encountered by players when they died at the same time as the boss, as they were in the process of clicking buttons during the transition. This issue has been resolved.
  • Fixed the Shuriken artifact, which was not behaving as intended. Its description was updated but was still functionally working in the old way, which was having a critical chance of adding 30 damage to your attacks.
Thank you for playing Spell Disk!

Spell Disk 0.4.3 patch

  • Added infinite insight (yellow meta-progress resources) sinks. You can upgrade to unlock the ability to reroll starting spells and the ability to create extra dice before the start of the run in the root chamber. Exiting the Root Chamber after purchasing either of these will waste your used insight resource, so be careful.
  • Changed the default behavior of pressing the Option or ESC button in the inventory. Instead of pausing the game while the inventory was open, the player will now exit the inventory. You can revert back to the previous behavior by selecting the "Pause On Inventory" button in the Setting menu's Key Configuration Panel.
  • Fixed the bug where items can get stuck if you were already carrying an item but used auto equip on another item of the same type.
  • Fixed various artifact objects such as hidden slingshot's projectile not having proper damage/elemental type creation or finish.
  • Fixed the typo in Warden's Trouser.
  • Fixed Axe's charge attack and Scythe's charge attack not benefiting from the Martial Lens artifact.
  • Picking up a starting spell automatically replenishes mana to full to test it out.
  • Removed some artifacts that were not applicable in Survivor mode from the weapon class's item pool.
