Spell Disk 0.4.1 patch

On this patch, we're implementing some of the requested quality-of-life features.

  • Added No Rush mode for the base game. Gems will no longer disappear after a set period of time. The end screen will indicate this mode, just like Easy Mode.
  • Item performance in Survivor mode is reworked. Now, item descriptions and the end screen will show the total cumulative performance (mana, damage, etc.) in the last 30 seconds.
  • Added an interactable object in the Root Chamber that allows you to refund all upgrades in the base game. It's a book with a question mark.
  • Added an option in the settings to enable instant item craft on crafting circles.
  • Weapons or classes can be hovered over in the inventory. This will be useful to check your class in Survivor mode and serves as a foundation for something exciting in a future update.
  • Pyromancer's Tome artifact has a limit of 1 activation per frame as a safeguard measure.
  • Fixed the attack speed not resetting when playing Survivor mode with a weapon.
  • The mouse will no longer try to select a hovered item slot if it remained idle for the last 0.2 seconds. This change will probably not affect players who used the mouse to organize the inventory but will remove the 'sticky' feeling of the inventory for players who used a keyboard and mouse.

Spell Disk 0.4.0f hotfix

  • Implemented a maximum possible mana gain for disks to 100,000 mana. It is normally unachievable, and this change can effectively prevent infinite loops that cause a crash.
  • Implemented an auto-cast option for the base game. There is an altar in the Root Chamber next to the starting spells and weapons where you can enable or disable this option.
  • Removed local lighting from Worm Caller (minion summon spell) to optimize the game.
  • Updated icons for the shield totem.
  • Updated icons for modified levels without treasure (marked by X).
  • Weapon spell cast animation speed is increased.
  • Fixed the incorrect values of weapon mana regeneration in the stat panel in the inventory.
  • Fixed incorrect instruction on the final elevator.

Spell Disk 0.4.0e hotfix

  • Fixed the Gazer class in Survivor Mode. Looking at the eye now generates mana as intended.
  • Addressed issues with the Worm Caller spell (explosive minion summon spell). It will no longer trigger errors when summoned out of bounds, as it will now remain within the game boundary. Additionally, it will no longer generate unnecessary logs when summoned inside shops and boss rooms.
  • Corrected an issue with the weapon display canvas in certain languages.
  • Resolved various issues related to the escape maneuvers of bosses, including the lingering attack telegraph signals while the boss is engaged in other actions.
  • Updated the description of Orbbed Gauntlet to reflect current functionality accurately.
  • Fixed the issue involving the echo blade and certain weapons.
  • Improved the directional change mechanics of the spear weapon's charge attack.
  • Reworked Directional Change Disk into Spin Disk. Players now need to execute continuous clockwise or counterclockwise spins to generate mana with what was previously known as the directional change disk.

Spell Disk 0.4.0d hotfix

  • Fixed a crashing issue with disk overflow. When an excessive amount of mana overflowed, the disk itself could overflow itself, which caused an infinite loop until it crashed.
  • Made the assassin boss unable to "roll dodge" while she is already dodging or performing other emergency maneuvers (backflip movement), which may have caused her to get stuck in a permanent invincible state.
  • The shop scene will now call to fade out the loading screen one more time for those who were experiencing issues with loading the shop scene as a workaround measure.

  • Pressing "Return to Main Menu" while playing Survivor Mode now prompts you for confirmation.
  • Optimized gem movement and enemy movement in Survivor mode.
  • Added missing language support to various settings menus.
  • Improved save file reading in the initialization of settings menu.

Thank you for your feedback!

Spell Disk 0.4.0c hotfix

  • Fixed an issue where the game did not correctly read your saved language.
  • Fixed an issue where spell detail would appear as squares in certain languages.
