Spell Disk 1.1.0.h patch notes

 • Fixed an issue where the world name for 'Lavaland' was not properly displayed on the end results screen.
 • Fixed an issue where the reroll button in survivor mode could be clicked without delay if the mouse exited and reentered the button.

Spell Disk 1.1.0.f patch notes

 • Added functionality to expand the slot using the 'select' button or 'upgrade' button. Previously, it was bound to the dash button (which is usually the same as the menu confirm button), but binding dash with other different buttons could have resulted in misleading indication.
 • Additionally, the text now changes to 'Expand Slot' when the inventory selection hovers over the 'Expand Slot' for extra clarity.
 • Fixed an issue with non-pixel fonts in certain languages causing corruption. The problem was related to data packaging errors that went unnoticed by the game engine.

Spell Disk 1.1.0.e fixes and patch notes

Hello, this is the patch notes on the recent hotfixes and updates made to the game. This posting was delayed because we wanted the 1.1 version announcement to be the first visible news for returning players and new players.

We always appreciate your feedback and will work to fix the issues you've reported.

1.1.0.a:
 • Fixed an issue where the settings menu would show a black screen if the computer detected that you were using a newly added localization.

1.1.0.b:
 • Fixed an issue where non-pixel fonts for certain languages were not properly displayed

1.1.0.c:
 • Fixed an issue where the Dungeon Architect would not properly change equipment with certain new outfits and accessories.

1.1.0.d:
 • Added '(Hold)' to the Survivor upgrade button prompt to clearly indicate its function.
 • Fixed an issue where items could be obtained immediately in certain cases, which could happen if the frame rate was set in specific ways.
 • Fixed some odd floor visuals and shading in the Architect Chamber.
 • Moved the floating candle to a more appropriate position.
 • Fixed an issue where you could recycle the wrong item in the inventory if you moved the chosen item at the exact moment the recycling process was initiated.
 • Adjusted the visuals of the upgrade and recycling meters to briefly stay full before completing the upgrade or recycling, to better convey progress. The meter fill speed has been increased, so the time it takes to upgrade or recycle remains the same.

1.1.0.e:
 • Fixed an issue where certain enemies' deaths counted twice due to the level-ending handling of specific situations.
 • Fixed a few odd pixels on various disk images.
 • Fixed a few missing tiles in the Arsenal (sandbox area).
 • The audio system in the game will no longer generate logs in the backend.
 • Fixed an issue where the elemental effect on the Player could persist across the menu if the menu scene was navigated too quickly.
 • Fixed an issue in the Arsenal (Sandbox area) where dying in a certain way could dim the game's lighting, which would remain that way until the correct menu was processed or the application was restarted.
 • Fixed an issue where you could block the progress of the tutorial by crafting two spells instead of crafting artifacts in extreme circumstances.
 • Fixed the position of some wall torches in the rooms before the Dungeon Architect.

Spell Disk 1.1 MAJOR UPDATE

Hello, everyone!

1.1 Version of Spell Disk is our biggest update yet, and we're excited to share new features and adjustments for the experienced players of Spell Disk.
CUSTOM DUNGEON BUILDER
The Custom Dungeon Builder has been added to the Root Chamber. It becomes accessible after completing the end-game mission, which is unlocked by defeating the Dungeon Architect three times.

Before starting a regular run, players can modify various aspects of the game, such as enemy population or dungeon depth. These new Custom Dungeon Builder modifiers can stack independently from danger level modifiers. Since these changes significantly alter the game's internal systems, progress cannot be saved during the run. Additionally, the completion of a Custom Mode run will not be recorded as a memory in the Architect Chamber for Infinity Dungeon or Arena.

To make room for the new builder, the Tutorial Recaller—used much less frequently—has been relocated elsewhere in the Root Chamber.
Arsenal
The Arsenal area has been added. It can be accessed from the Architect Chamber after completing the end-game mission, which is unlocked by defeating the Dungeon Architect three times.

Players can obtain any discovered items, wear unlocked outfits and accessories, and equip any weapons they’ve found to test their dream build. They can also summon enemies to fight. In essence, it will serve as a sandbox mode for Spell Disk!

Dummy maker in the Architect Chamber has been reworked.
Time Stone
The Time Stone has been added. The stone can be interacted with to adjust the speed of time itself. Adjusting its strength will either accelerate everything in the game or return it to normal speed.

Its unlock conditions differ between the two game modes: in the regular mode, players must defeat the Dungeon Architect once, while in Survivor Mode, clearing a high enough danger level unlocks the stone next to the portal.
Wardrobe items
New equippable items can be obtained by defeating certain enemies:
 • Flower Outfit: Defeat the Explosive Seed Flower.
 • Chronomancer Outfit: Defeat the Royal Magician.
 • Cone Hat: Defeat the Cone Hat Swordsmen.
 • Bonehelm: Defeat the Ossified Wolf.

The Electromancer Outfit's orbs have been optimized and graphically updated.
The Pyromancer Outfit's burn damage has been increased, and burn damage will now be recognized as applying fire affliction. Its graphics and audio feedback have also been updated.
New Localizations
• Added German localization.
 • Added French localization.
 • Added Traditional Chinese localization.

Changed the displayed language in the language selection menu to show each language in its native form.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the translators who helped localize Spell Disk. If you notice any significant errors in the new languages, please let us know, and we’ll ensure they are addressed in future updates.
Text Improvements
Text areas have been adjusted and improved to reduce odd line breaks in certain languages.

Rewrote various item descriptions so that they are more consistent throughout the game.(e.g. Assault Cuisse: Deal damage to enemy passed through Dash -> Player Dash can deal damage to enemies.)
Graphics Touch-up
• Various pixel graphics have been updated to remove odd pixels and improve overall clarity. Additionally, various in-game icons have been reworked or replaced for enhanced consistency and clarity. For instance, the affliction icons for both the spell upgrade modifier and the stat will now appear similar to each other, rather than using distinctive icons from different graphic assets.
 • The enemy's idle and movement animation speed is now capped at 300%. Idling at a faster speed looked a bit off, so this is purely a visual change. Enemies will still attack at speeds higher than 300% during their attacks.
Steam Community Items & Points Shop Items
Due to player demand, we decided to add Trading Cards and Steam Points Shop Items for Spell Disk. Come and check it out!
Added Community Items: Badge, 15 trading cards, 3 profile backgrounds, and 10 emoticons.
Added Points Shop Exclusive Items: Animated Avatar, Animated Profile Background, Animated Mini Profile Background, 6 stickers, and 3 Animated Avatar Frames.
Item balance

Code optimizations & Minor adjustments
• A boss's dodge maneuver will now activate based on its current health percentage rather than its base health percentage.
 • Some collision layers have been adjusted for Root Chamber and Architect Chamber objects to optimize collision calculations.
Bug fixes
• Fixed an issue where Cold Pants and Poison Flask would internally accumulate objects, causing frame drops if used extensively after clearing a level.
 • Fixed unintended rare collider interactions that caused some objects to freeze in the code.
 • Fixed various internal error issues that may or may not be noticeable at the conclusion of Survivor Mode.
 • Fixed an issue where Headband Soldier could slide off the wall bounds in extreme cases.
 • Fixed an issue where ground-level hitting spells triggered an unnecessary log error in the background when hitting certain level objects, such as an item altar.
 • Fixed an issue where the player could walk out of bounds in the Dungeon Architect boss room.
 • Fixed an issue where, under extreme circumstances, removing enemies after the end of the level could cause an unnecessary error log in the background (which wouldn’t have affected gameplay in most cases).
 • Fixed an issue where the Chronomancer class in Survivor Mode could not register the stat of disk activation.

Spell Disk 1.0.9

 • Vase, Jar, or Pot will now break after receiving a certain amount of affliction damage, rather than enduring infinite damage.

 • The first stage behind the gate will now have music instead of silence.
 • The cooldown for Shock Dasher artifact has been slightly increased.
