Crimson Veil News

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 3/2/25

I have some disappointing news to start with—I’ve decided to postpone Version 5.6’s release to April instead of this month. Between multiple real-world obligations and other projects I’m working on this month, it’s just not feasible to wrap everything up in time. I’d rather take the extra time to make sure the update is in the best shape possible rather than rush it. That being said, I do have something exciting planned for this Tuesday in celebration of Crimson Veil’s 6th anniversary!

This week, I finished the last missing sketches for this update, along with a few other drawings. Take a look!

I also want to highlight that Tier 3 and up patrons now have early access to my sketches and WIPs as soon as they are done! I’ve started posting them in the Shardforge Sanctum channel, an exclusive space for Tier 3 and up patrons on the Crimson Veil Discord. Those who’ve checked it out already know that I finished sketching yet another illustration of Tera, from Netflix’s Castlevania. The full version is now done and is actually a short animated sequence! You can see a preview of it below:

It’s now available for all $5+ patrons to view on the official Crimson Veil Discord and It will be posted on Patreon later this week as well.

If you haven’t joined the official Crimson Veil Discord yet, now’s a great time to do so! Here’s the link to join:

Additional roles are available for Patrons of all tiers!

Be sure to look forward to the game’s anniversary this Tuesday—I have something special to share that longtime fans will love and I will be posting it on the new Discord channel.

That’s all for this week. Until next time, everyone!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 2/23/25

I've finished the event scripting for Liora's quest and took the time to playtest it all the way through—I’m genuinely satisfied with how it’s coming together. While I still need to finalize testing the bad endings, that half of the update is nearly wrapped up.

Now, my focus shifts to the second half of this update, which I haven't shared much about in a few weeks. It's progressing smoothly, and after rethinking the story, I've made some changes to the script to give it a more compelling edge. I'm still refining the details, but I did manage to complete a new piece featuring Eve.

This new illustration is available exclusively to all my $5+ Patrons

—but there's a twist! It will debut on the brand new Crimson Veil Discord server, specifically in the Hall of the Hunter's channel, created just for patrons at the 5+ tier. The server had a soft opening for some patrons last week, and it's now open to everyone!

Here’s the link to join:

Please feel free to share it!

Joining the Crimson Veil Keep Discord means you get to hang out with fellow fans and have easy access to helpful resources. It’s a chill space to chat, share ideas, and even score some cool roles if you’re a higher-tier supporter. Come join the conversation and be part of our inner circle! And if you’re not on Discord, don’t worry—I’ll also be posting the new Eve illustration on Patreon later this week!

That’s all I have for you this week; I hope to see you all at the new server!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 2/16/25

This week’s focus has been on scripting the events of Liora's quest that I had written. Unfortunately, I haven't had as much time to work on illustrations as I would have liked, so I channeled my energy into these scripting and testing tasks to remain productive. Thankfully, I’ve only got a few more drawings to finish! This upcoming week I'm likely to have more free time to make them, so that's good at least!

After wrapping up the dialogue last week, I spent most of my time putting together and testing out the various scenes to ensure everything flows perfectly in-game.

Scripting the event for Liora's support conversations are nearly finished as well, which is a huge relief. I just need a few more passes at testing it. I also added in the recent Tier 4 Patron NPCs to the game and created some more character portraits to characters that I haven’t shared yet. I feel that things are progressing smoothly and I’m certain I’ll be done with Liora’s quest by the end of this month.

In addition to the in-game work, I've been collaborating with a few dedicated people to get a Discord server setup for the game!

I'm really excited about this development, as it promises to be a central hub for community discussions, updates, and helpful resources. The server will feature Patreon integration, a place to catch up on weekly updates, and easy access to various useful links for players. It's been a project in the making for some time, and we're nearly ready to launch it! I hope you'll all join us there so we can continue the conversation and build a close-knit community.

Thanks as always for catching up with the updates! Until next time everyone!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 2/9/25

This week has been a productive one on the writing front—I’ve completed all of Liora’s quest and support conversations, and I’ve begun scripting her support conversation scenes in the game. I expect this part to be wrapped up by the end of the upcoming week. In addition to that, I managed to carve out some time during work to tackle various small tasks: I finally took care of a few miscellaneous images and character portraits that were needed to enhance some scenes, something I had been putting off for a few weeks.

On the art side, I finished the Dryusk Bad Ending scene, and you can catch a snippet of it here:

For those interested in a deeper dive, the full-resolution version—complete with alternate versions and an animated rendition—is available to all my $5+ patrons.

I also experienced a couple of rare, uninterrupted art sessions on Monday and Thursday at work. While I can’t share that work just yet, I truly appreciated those moments of focused drawing, where I felt completely free from outside distractions. Here’s hoping for more of these golden windows as the release date looms closer.

Until next week, everyone!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 2/2/25

This week has been a bit of a mixed bag in terms of progress. While I haven’t had as much time to work on the game as I’d like, I did manage to complete a new bad ending scene—one where Mila meets an unfortunate fate at the hands of Kyless.

Let’s just say… she won’t be moving anytime soon.

My $5+ Patrons can check out the full resolution sequence now as well as an animated gif version of it!

On top of that, I’ve also been experimenting with something new that I hope the community will be interested in!

I’m still still figuring a few things out, but I’m excited to share more once the time is right…

So, how’s your week been? I won’t lie—things have felt a bit gloomy and stagnant on my end. But I’ve been doing what I can to stay inspired and keep a positive mindset.

This week, I sketched Tera again on a whim, and it was refreshing to create something just for myself. Here it is, in case you missed it:

So often, I feel like any time I spend drawing needs to have a purpose—whether it’s for a commission or for Crimson Veil. While I love creating art, it’s also time-consuming and mentally draining, which makes it easy to talk myself out of drawing for fun. Lately, with my limited free time and energy, I had convinced myself that personal art wasn’t worth it—but I’m glad I pushed past that, even just this once.

I’ve also been making an effort to connect more with mutuals and friends, and I’ve been revisiting old positive comments from the community. It’s been a great reminder of why I create and why making art is worth it in the first place. Thanks for sticking by me.

Until next week, everyone.
