WEEKLY UPDATE!! 8/24/25

[p]This week has been another round of slow but steady progress. I spent some time scripting early scenes and tweaking dialogue—here’s a fun preview where Mila teases Sigrun:[/p][p][/p][p]Most of my energy has still gone into artwork, as it has for the past several weeks. Although, I’m starting to worry I might run out of sexy previews to share soon! Once the art side is wrapped up, I’ll be able to fully shift focus onto everything else I need to finish. Whenever I hit this stage of development, I can’t help but feel like I’m behind where I “should” be—but any progress is still progress, so I keep reminding myself to take it easy. Speaking of previews, here’s a fresh wolfy close up of Claudia and Mila’s new forms:[/p][p][/p][p]The full version is available now in the Hall of the Hunters channel on the Crimson Veil Discord for Tier 2+ members and will go up on Patreon later this week.[/p][p][/p][p]discord.gg/Mqz6WGn95j[/p][p][/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/MKRUdesign[/p][p][/p][p]On a more personal note, I have some exciting news—my friends and I finally secured our tickets to Japan this October! It’s a trip we’ve been planning for nearly a decade, so actually booking it makes it feel real at last. The trip will be just over two weeks, and while my original goal was to release the next update before I leave, I realized I’d be cutting it way too close. More importantly, I wouldn’t be around to troubleshoot any issues that might come up after release, which wouldn’t be fair to players. So instead, I’m aiming for a November release window.[/p][p]I know it’s a longer wait than usual, but this chapter is a very important one for the story and I want to make sure it’s the best it can be. Thank you all for your patience and continued support—it really means a lot. That’s all for this week. Until next time, everyone![/p]

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 8/17/25

[p]I’m back from my trip! I shared some photos of where I went on the Crimson Veil Discord, and it was a really fun experience—though also pretty exhausting. Even with the travel, I still managed to get some work done on Crimson Veil this week. Here’s a screenshot of the next chapter’s title card:[/p][p][/p][p]With a title like that, there are so many possible implications for where the story could go. What do you think it means? Alongside that, I’ve continued polishing the script and working on sprite art for some of the new characters that will appear in this update. I tried to make the most of the limited time I had, chipping away at what I could.[/p][p]Before heading out on my trip, I also prepped a fun illustration of Mayor Sholz. [/p][p][/p][p]This isn’t something for the game, just a playful drawing I felt like making. Both the main version and an alternate will be posted on the art board of the Crimson Veil Discord, and they’ll also go live on Patreon later this week. I hope you enjoy them![/p][p]That’s all I’ve got for now—until next time, everyone![/p][p][/p][p]

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 8/3/25

[p]This past week, I completed my full run of the Vampire Route to help clear up a few lingering details as I continue writing Chapter 4. During that playthrough, something stood out to me that’s been nagging for a while—specifically, the pacing at which Mila and her Pets receive weapon upgrades. It felt a bit too sparse in places, so I’ve gone back and added a few more weapon chests to earlier areas. I also expanded the game’s database with several new weapons that will be introduced later in the story.[/p][p]Alongside that, a new item will be debuting in the upcoming update: the Sapientia Laurel![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Until now, there hasn’t been a way to raise the Magic Attack stat with a Laurel, but that’s about to change. These new Laurels will be quite rare in the Hunter Route—replacing certain treasure locations—but they’ll be more common in the Vampire Route and even purchasable in select shops![/p][p]I also took some time to revisit and update one of my personal favorite illustrations in the game—Vampire Mila, curled up and cozy in her coffin. I’d never gone back to fix the missing belt holders on her pants until now, but more importantly, I’ve created a new alternate version featuring Mila in her dark vampire route gown… except this time, she’s about to be staked?![/p][p][/p][p]All preview images are currently available to Tier 2+ patrons on the Crimson Veil Discord and will be going live on Patreon later this week![/p][p][/p][p]discord.gg/Mqz6WGn95j[/p][p][/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/MKRUdesign[/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, a quick heads-up: there will be no update next Sunday, as I’ll be heading out on a short trip with friends! We’ll be visiting Epic Universe in Orlando, and I’m super excited to check it out. That said, I’ve already scheduled some new art to go live next Sunday, so patrons and Discord members will still have something to look forward to at the usual time.[/p][p]That’s all for this week—see you all once I’m back![/p]

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 7/27/25

[p][/p][p]This week, I began putting some of the major story scenes in place for the next chapter of Crimson Veil.[/p][p][/p][p]With the full outline now laid out, I also took the time to write a second draft of the script to tighten up a few sections and improve the overall flow. To help get back in the mindset of the narrative, I did a fresh playthrough of the Vampire Route during my spare time—just to revisit older dialogue and make sure I haven’t forgotten anything important I wrote years ago. It definitely helped me reconnect with the story’s rhythm and tone.[/p][p]One of the hardest parts was figuring out how to start the chapter—but I’m happy to say I finally cracked that too this week. And speaking of story… if you hadn’t picked up on it from recent updates, this new chapter will finally explore Claudia’s backstory—a mystery that’s been building for years.[/p][p]We’ll get a brief look at her early life before she met Dorian, and the events that ultimately led to Mila’s fateful encounter with him. Here’s a preview of both Claudia’s early human form and her vampire design for this chapter:[/p][p][/p][p]All of her new character portraits are now available to Tier 2+ patrons on the Crimson Veil Discord and will also be posted to Patreon later this week. If you haven't joined yet, you can do so using the links below![/p][p]https://discord.gg/R9mkRDea[/p][p][/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/MKRUdesign[/p][p]This chapter is shaping up to be packed with long-awaited revelations, while raising even more questions along the way. [/p][p][/p][p]That’s all for now—until next time, everyone![/p]

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 7/21/25

[p]Hey everyone! This week didn’t go quite as planned. I had intended to focus on map work for the next dungeon, but I ran into a bit of a creative block. I’m using a brand new tile set for this area, and I’m still getting used to how it functions. I did set up a temporary map to experiment with the layout, but I’m not quite satisfied with how it’s looking just yet—so I’ll hold off on sharing it until I’ve had a chance to polish things up. That said, the groundwork is there, so returning to it should be smoother once I get back into the groove.[/p][p]Instead, I shifted gears and focused on crafting a few new character sprites and continued chipping away at the game’s artwork. I’ve got a fresh sketch to share this week—Mila, being sensually taken by a werewolf with long, silvery hair…[/p][p]
[/p][p]The full sketch is now available in the exclusive Tier 3+ channel on the Crimson Veil Discord. If you’re not part of the server yet, you can join here:
[/p][p]discord.gg/Mqz6WGn95j[/p][p][/p][p]Additionally, I managed to finish the colored version of a previous sketch—this one depicting the birth of a new lycanthrope with vivid emerald eyes! [/p][p][/p][p]The full version is available to all Tier 2+ patrons on Discord and will be posted to Patreon later this week as well.[/p][p]Apologies for the delay on this update. I mentioned it on Patreon already, but I was feeling a bit under the weather this weekend. Saturday I was dragging my feet, and Sunday I was completely bedridden. Thankfully, I got the rest I needed and woke up today feeling much better.[/p][p]Thanks as always for sticking around for these weekly updates. That’s all for now—until next time, everyone![/p]
