The Shadowgrapher Available Now

We've been busy applying the finishing touches to The Shadowgrapher, and are proud to announce that Warframe's first standalone update of 2026 has officially landed on all platforms!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Journey to the ruins of the Vesper Relay and investigate a mysterious painting to uncover the story of our latest Warframe, the inkblot-based Follie. Survive a frightful hunt with your Squadmates in an exhilarating new game mode, witness the next evolution of Gauss and Grendel and enjoy a plethora of expansions and quality-of-life improvements designed to enhance the Warframe experience for new Tenno and veterans alike.

Once the ink has dried, you can look forward to earning new and returning Rewards beginning April 2 during the new in-game event, Operation: Atramentum.

Note: to begin The Shadowgrapher you must first complete The War Within main story quest. For help with that, check out our Quest Guide!
64TH WARFRAME: FOLLIE
Splatter matters with Follie! The macabre and merry Shadowgrapher brings art to life, blending reality with smatterings of surreal inkblots. She supports her squad and controls enemy crowds with a myriad of versatile sketches and tricks. A gifted calligrapher, she finds herself trapped within a canvas aboard the Relay, unable to escape as she attempts in vain to restore a series of unfinished stories.

While Follie's Abilities allow for their own creativity in combat, she allows you to express yourself like never before with a Sketchbook that allows you to realize your very own artworks in-game. These can then be deployed directly onto the battlefield.
Ability 1: Forced Perspective
Drop through an inky frame and emerge invulnerable at the aimed location in a splash of ink that inflicts Inkblot on nearby enemies.
Ability 2: Shadowgraph
Bring shadowgraphs from Follie’s sketchbook to life as items that can be used for tactical advantage. Shadowgraphs splash Inkblot onto nearby enemies when created.

HOLD to open the Shadowgraph gear wheel.
Ability 3: Self Portrait
Draw an ink effigy to absorb the damage dealt to Follie and allies. Below, a pool of ink spreads Inkblot. Kill enemies to grow Follie’s effigy and its ink puddle.
Ability 4: Plein Air
Tie nearby enemies to floating balloons that douse them with Inkblot. Pop the balloons to send them crashing to the ground, splashing damage on nearby enemies.
Passive: Inkblot
Follie’s abilities coat enemies in ink that slows their movement up to 50%. Afflicted enemies have a chance to drop Health and Energy Orbs.
NEW GAME MODE: FOLLIE'S HUNT
Accessible by entering the painting in the main lobby of the Vesper Relay, Follie's Hunt sees you and up to three friends gathering paint in order to complete a series of incomplete canvases scattered throughout the map. You'll need to dodge (or battle) ink-ified enemies and avoid sinister traps in order to complete these artworks, while being pursued by an overpowering and invulnerable foe.
QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Legacy Quest Polish
Many of Warframe's most memorable Quests have been adjusted and improved to address bugs and pain points we've tracked with help from the community, including many new Tenno who began their first playthroughs after the launch of The Old Peace. If you've ever gotten stuck on a Quest in the past, now's a great time to get back in the saddle and try it again.
Operator and Drifter Visual Refinements
Getting your Operator or Drifter's visage just right can be tricky, but we've made it easier by improving existing faces for customization and adding several entirely new options! With improved textures, skin, hair and more, you've never looked better outside your Warframe.
Awakening Remaster
Start your journey off better than ever thanks to our remaster of Warframe's very first Mission. With significant visual improvements to the skybox, along with pacing updates, enemy position changes and improved performance. The beginning of your evolution even sounds better owing to rerecorded dialogue and new music!
NEW ARMAMENTS
Three familiar Weapons have finally received the Adversary treatment — and their respective Kuva, Tenet and Coda versions are now available for you to unleash added mayhem.
Kuva Ghoulsaw
The addition of Kuva has forged the savage Ghoulsaw into an even more brutal weapon, allowing for faster attacks.
Tenet Quanta
Once a mining tool adapted for military purposes, Parvosian engineering has enhanced the Quanta’s lethality even further. Alternate Fire cubes now apply Status Effect on impact.
Coda Bubonico
With increased magazine size, the Coda Bubonico was born of the Technocyte virus' need to spread infection. Primary Fire rate ramps up with continuous fire.
OPERATION: ATRAMENTUM
AVAILABLE APRIL 2 AT 11:30 A.M. ET UNTIL APRIL 23 AT 11:30 A.M. ET

New challenges are coming during our next in-game event! Earn new and returning Rewards by working together with your Squadmates to restore a tarnished painting. We'll have various tiers of Clan Trophies on offer, so put the call out to your Clanmates and get ready!

Warframe's Shadowgrapher update is out now, and Digital Extremes isn't scared of your penis drawings

"Rap. Tap. Tap. The man in the wall." Whispers in the darkness of an abandoned spaceship, suspended silently in the depths of The Origin System. Specters of days long past line its halls, illuminated only by white LED light. The metal creaks, the murmurs bouncing off the walls, ominously pointing you towards Rell's relic, all the while warning of the aforementioned man in the wall. This is the Chains of Harrow: a quest that feels completely different to any of its counterparts. This is where Warframe embraced the darkness.

Warframe disables game invites amid sinister warnings of compromised accounts

If you've been sent a concerning squad invite message in Warframe telling you that your account has been compromised, don't panic. Malicious players were able to adjust the default text for invites to display a custom greeting instead, and took it upon themselves to exploit this to frighten the Warframe community at large. In response, Digital Extremes has shut down direct game invites for the time being. It says they'll remain off until the launch of the Shadowgrapher expansion, but notes that "no accounts have been compromised" and that "it is safe to continue playing."
