Warframe is getting a brand new mode that's "unlike anything it's done before"

While all eyes fervently turn towards the likes of GTA 6, my mind is still very much on Warframe 1999. Since it was unveiled a year ago, it's been lurking in my brain like the Infestation, rearing its head whenever a new trailer drops, then returning to its slumber. With the days ticking down and New Year's Eve drawing ever closer, there's a brand-new mode in the works that changes up the traditional action for something that's "unlike anything Warframe has done before."

Heirloom Skins signify the passage of time and the dedication of the Tenno. Elevating the most core aesthetics of each Warframe to new heights in celebration of their place in the Origin System.

Dark Sector, the forgotten predecessor to Warframe, is free on Steam right now

Warframe 1999 is right around the corner, bringing fans of the live service shooter back to a wild but enticing setting that mixes dark tech fantasy with turn-of-the-millennium vibes. It looks marvelous, and now developer Digital Extremes is being incredibly generous by giving away Dark Sector, its debut game that was a predecessor to what you see in Warframe today, totally free to those on Steam.
