Prime Vault Opens August 10

Warframe's pirate radio host is back with Nightwave: Nora's Choice

A new Nightwave broadcast has hit the pirate airwaves in Warframe. Starting today, the space ninja MMO's players can tune in for a new set of challenges and rewards in Nightwave: Nora's Choice, which includes 30 exclusive rewards - including several themed around Yareli, the new warframe introduced in the Sisters of Parvos update.

You can tune into Nightwave through either your orbiter's navigation console or the main menu, and once you do, you'll have access to a new set of limited-time daily and weekly challenges, each of which offers its own reward. By completing challenges and earning Nightwave Cred, you can unlock special items like mods, blueprints, and customisations for your Tenno and orbiter.

This time around, Nora Night is offering "some of her favourite rewards," and is also introducing some brand new ones. There's the new Ride the Wave glyph and Waveform ephemera, for example, or the Yareli and Merulina noggle statue. You can also unlock new customisations like the Yareli Physalia Helmets and Harrow Crucis.

Nidus Prime and half-Sentient Caliban are Warframe's next 'frames

This weekend's TennoCon 2021 brought with it a load of fantastic announcements for Warframe, most notably the full unveiling of The New War expansion coming later this year. Beyond that, the most exciting announcements were the reveal of the next two warframes coming to the online title in 2021: Nidus Prime and Caliban.

If you weren't aware, developer Digital Extremes started adding Prime variants of classic warframes - which are most powerful versions that usually get released once a year. Nidus Prime will be the next warframe to get added this year, which, as its name suggests, is the tougher variant of the parasitic Nidus. While Nidus Prime doesn't have a specific release date yet the 'frame will arrive as part of the next Prime Access later this Summer.

Digital Extremes describes Nidus Prime as "the Orokin's original vision for the notoriously unkillable Nidus" and will sport "signature Weapons, Customizations, and much more". That's pretty much all the developer has revealed about Nidus so far, although as Nidus is the only warframe to innately regenerate health their Prime version should be one tough customer.

Warframe: The New War is out this year with playable Veso and Teshin

At TennoCon 2021 this weekend, Warframe developer Digital Extremes lifted the lid on the exciting The New War expansion. It's the first proper next-gen focused expansion, so it comes with an updated engine, and it's confirmed for release this year. Even better, a few fan favourite characters will be playable for the first time during the main story quest.

Warframe: The New War has been teased as far back as TennoCon 2018, with hints and cinematics building out of the series' Old War. In the new story, as revealed in the trailer below, Earth's Cetus fortress and the Corpus fleet lie in ruins after an attack by the Sentients - which players will have to fight together to defeat.

Exciting stuff for sure, but while a lot of the story is under wraps Digital Extremes has confirmed that Corpus Engineer Veso, Grineer Soldier Kahl-175, and Conclave master Teshin - who has personally been teasing the Sentients' arrival for a while now - will all be playable during The New War's main story quests.
