写在“大型科幻爱情片”发售之前

不管是不是科幻爱情片,《完蛋!我被美女包围了!》,都将要在北京时间2023年10月18日12时正式发售了。历时1年多的筹备、拍摄、制作,终于可以说出“完结撒花”!

不管大家看到的试玩版内容有多“离谱”“短小”,我希望大家都不要被前期荒诞的剧情所迷惑,生活本就存在诸多荒诞,而爱情就是在无数荒诞的选项中,筛出最纯粹的那个。

同时,正因为有大家对这款游戏试玩版的下载、尝试、批评、指正,也让我们有了更多人看到的机会,在此由衷感谢大家,早安、午安、晚安。

聊聊游戏
很多年前,看完《天堂向左,深圳向右》小说的时候,给我的第一感受是:我们身边总是充盈着各种诱惑,但是真正爱着我们的人,我们似乎永远都没那么在乎。直到最后发现才懊悔,试图弥补,可并不是所有的事情都能够“亡羊补牢”“来者可追”,而爱人也没有义务欣然接受,和好如初。

如同《完蛋!我被美女包围了!》,我们在试玩版的内容中,男主“顾易”与前三位女主荒诞的相识开场一样,我们都有过与某人接近梦幻甜美的相识开局,而在逐步深入的了解后,生活的琐碎与现实的荒诞都将我们推到一个选无可选的宿命之中。

但游戏的魅力在于可以返回重来,在一个个平行世界,面对诸多不确定的选项,选择不同的结局,感受不同的人生宿命。于是我们在22年制作了这部都市爱情互动游戏《完蛋!我被美女包围了!》。在游戏中,我们没有物哀,我们也没有刻意魔幻;我们没有莎式悲剧,我们也没有刻意玩尬;我们没有“创意工坊”,我们也没有“解锁可冲”。我们有的只是在平淡之余,给所有玩了的朋友在将近十个小时的故事里,如喝了杯奶茶,如看了场电影,快乐下,放松下,吐槽下,小憩下,仅此而已。

在此有个小提示,游戏中女孩对应的色彩,游戏中表现的性格,资料中的星座,都有助于我们了解与她们的交流方式,一些看似“莫名其妙”的剧情也都有其自圆其说的理由。这些都会对隐藏剧情的打开有些许帮助,希望喜欢的朋友可以逐步探索。草蛇灰线,万事皆有缘由。

说说计划
从我们在天津拍摄的时候算起,经历了口罩,经历了居家,经历了绿码上班。当时在想,成本还能回来吗?难了,为爱发电吧。所以我们从定价,到发行预算都能少则少,在真人互动游戏,动辄六七十,高的上百块的市场环境下,我们依旧选择四十二元的定价。只希望有更多的人能喜欢,这个“又土又嗨”的、并不完美的都市爱情故事。

经过新品节试玩,我们会优先处理一些游戏内的bug以及海外玩家的加速节点问题,因为我们游戏需要全程联网,国内开加速器的话,会定义为海外用户,为了确保玩家在游戏时不受网络影响,我们在德国、美国西海岸和东南亚都放了加速节点(又一笔开销)。技术小哥的建议是,咱们大陆用户在玩这款游戏的时候,可以不开加速器。开了也没所谓,我们尽可能避免断网问题的发生。

再次,就是对游戏的进一步优化,UE的优化,英文版对话上的优化。总之还挺多事情做的,后面有机会一一拆解说明吧。

鸣谢时间
这几天我们也看到很多头部主机区的主播大佬玩了我们的试玩版(我们已然没预算请他们恰饭了,只希望以后能给他们带来更多的直播效果吧,尬是尬了点,互动性挺好的。),在此制作组全体起立,鞠躬致谢。所有批评建议,我们都收到了,在人力物力允许的情况下,我们会去完善这款游戏。 (作为女流某酷时期的忠实观众,很能理解她说游戏制作略糙,但这是另外一个故事了。)

我们也通过朋友尝试在一些地方进行传播,但遭到了无情的限流,55555。还好,靠朋友们的口口相传,和很多UP主、媒体、自媒体的推荐,最重要是我们热心玩家群体的传播扩散,让更多玩家了解到了我们的游戏(但我们不是亚洲之子的翻版,我们不),在此制作组全体起立,向衣食父母的玩家们鞠躬致谢。(卖多少套无所谓,态度先到位,江湖不是打打杀杀,江湖是人情世故。)

对了,游戏里的所有道具,均是剧情需要,没有任何恰饭,我们团队尝试过聊聊合作,但都石沉大海,再无下文,也是一段心酸的往事。

最后,感谢所有演职人员、前后期工作人员的辛苦付出,去年十月的天津滨海,还是有点冷的。

The FAQ about “Love Is All Around”

Q: Is this a PC game? Can it only be played on computers?
A: Yes, the development work for the PC version is almost complete and undergoing final optimization. We also have plans for a mobile version, but the progress may be slightly slower.

Q: It looks very interesting! When was it filmed? Where was it filmed? How long did it take?
A: It's difficult to put a specific time-frame on it. We filmed it in Tianjin last year, around September and October, for about a month. However, a significant amount of time was spent on perfecting the script and ensuring thorough preparation before the actual filming took place.

Q: Were there any difficulties or memorable moments during the shooting?
A: I remember during the script reading session, everyone was puzzled. They wondered why the same scene appeared multiple times and why there were no co-actors. We had to explain the reasons behind these choices to address their concerns.

The most challenging part was probably dealing with the unexpected changes and timeline constraints. At that time, due to the pandemic policies, everyone was confined to the hotel and had to undergo daily nucleic acid tests. As the actors couldn't wear masks for better on-screen performance, we worried about the risk of someone falling ill and the possible delays. There was financial pressure as well, although everyone cheered each other on and maintained a positive attitude, they still had concerns and felt the pressure. The weather didn't cooperate either, with rainy and cloudy days, making it challenging to clean up the park's fallen leaves. The actors bravely faced the cold autumn weather in the North, wearing short skirts while battling a cold, to film summer scenes. It was both heartbreaking and moving to watch. And we advised the crew to prepare more warming pads and hot drinks. We are truly grateful for the hard work of every team member, they have worked tirelessly.
It’s really cold. We all rely on hand warmers and hot water to survive.

Q: Why did you choose to use real actors? Wouldn't it be more cost-effective to use animation or a 2D style?
A: The use of real actors provides a stronger sense of immersion, and the target audience is different as well. As for the cost, I'm not quite familiar with the specifics of producing 2D animation. In fact, when I was playing "Heavy Rain" a long time ago, I was thinking about whether it was possible to have real actors, or even something similar to having a desktop assistant where the character responds to wherever I move my mouse. From the very beginning of our project, we were clear on our goal of making players feel that this story could happen in real life. Though the plot may have some unconventional elements, the intention was to provide an enjoyable gaming experience.

Q: Will having real actors make players feel like they're just watching short videos or dramas?
A: There's a significant difference between games and videos. In an episodic drama, the script is usually written as a continuous storyline that unfolds within a day. On the other hand, in an interactive game, there are countless branching paths. For example, on a certain day, I can choose to go somewhere with girl A or go somewhere else with girl B, each choice affecting the subsequent storyline. There are also inner monologues and dynamic scenes when encountering choices.
It’s a difficult choice! If it’s up to you, whom would you choose?

Every choice will affect the subsequent development of the plot.

It's not a static image, but rather the character looking left and right, the girl opposite blinking with anticipation for my answer. The gameplay experience is much more dynamic and immersive.

Q: What are the unique and innovative aspects of the game?
A: In comparison to the traditional narrative-based games we’ve played before, which typically involve multiple endings and branching storylines, the interaction in those games are more akin to a conversation between two people. It sometimes lack of any dynamic elements; only facial expressions changing and scene transitions. But in an interactive game, apart from live actors, there are physical movements, interactive scenes, inner monologues, and more. For instance, when encountering a choice, it wouldn’t be a static image but rather a dynamic scenario. I might glance left and right, while the girl opposite me blinks with anticipation for my response, fostering a greater sense of engagement.

Q: I'm actually curious if this type of game can pass the content regulations. Is it considered "Adults Only"? Does the game contain explicit content?
A: Ahem, let me make it clear that we have never claimed to be an "Adults Only" game. The age restrictions can be seen on the store page, so please don't misunderstand. However, there may be some sweet and heartwarming content... but that's all I can say. We have signed a confidentiality agreement and cannot spoil anything. Next question!

Q: How many chapters are there in total? Will there be sequels or DLCs?
A: There are a total of 6 main chapters and several branching ending chapters. If you play through quickly, it will take about 3 hours to reach the first ending. Unlocking all the endings won't be easy. Sequels or DLCs are possibilities, but it depends on the budget... So we hope everyone can support the game, even if it's just adding it to your wishlist. It means a lot to us and provides great motivation!

Q: When is the expected release date? Is there a demo available? I can't wait!
A: We are planning to release it on Steam in the forth quarter of this year.
